“I do, for a hundredth, thousandth, millionth times!” Yun Shanshan twirled around delightfully.

Chi Wan was amused by her reaction. “Your luggage is still at Auntie’s. You can use my car to collect it.”

“Great, I’ll go now!”

Chi Wan got undressed, had a bath and laid on her bed. She took out her phone.

She stared at the screen and had no idea what to do. This went on for more than ten minutes.

All of a sudden, a new message appeared.

It was very simple. There was only one word.

[Fine.]

It was from Wen Mo.

Chi Wan’s lips curled. She wanted to thank him but decided against it.

She did not owe him anything.

From that day onwards, Yun Shanshan lived with her.

Chi Wan did not feel so lonely now with the chatterbox blabbering away beside her.

The next morning, she brought Yun Shanshan along to the company and officially appointed the latter as her personal assistant.

The headlines of today’s entertainment news revolved around the “stable relationship” between Wen Mo and Chi Wan; The announcement of Huo Tianye and Lin Ya’s relationship and the exposé of Lin Ya’s true identity.

Meanwhile, the headline of the business news was about Hai Tian Corporation and how the Lin family got divested by M Corporation, losing the partnership in the process.

Somebody revealed that the CEO of M Corporation was Wen Mo, who divested the partnership because Lin Ya taunted Chi Wan at the film set.

The Second Young Master got angry for a woman!

News about Wen Mo and Chi Wan’s romance spread like wildfire in no time. It had garnered more attention than news about Huo Tianye’s first public relationship in a flash.

Chi Wan was not pleased by this. On the contrary, she thought it was disastrous!

The greater the “love” between her and Wen Mo, the messier the break-up would be.

Also, would Lin Ya’s family hate her for this?

With a heavy heart, she headed for the film set and filmed the last remaining scenes of the TV show.

Chi Wan politely declined the director who wanted to organize a wrap party in her honor and ignored the sweet-talk directed towards her. She headed straight for home.

Wen Mo never looked for her again. The two of them were like two lines that ran on their separate courses after briefly intersecting each other.

After ten days or so, the media’s excitement waned. At last, Chi Wan did not have to become the center of attention wherever she went.

The film she was assigned to was still in the pre-production phase and casting stage. There was still a long way to go before shooting actually began.

Chi Wan was not in a hurry. She was known to be a busy bee in showbiz. Apart from the TV show she had just completed filming, she had another series waiting for her.

Every day, she attended film shoots and returned home regularly. Occasionally, she went to the company, and the only one by her side was Yun Shanshan.

As for Joy, everybody knew that both of them were not on friendly terms. Moreover, Joy had another female artiste with him. Rumors had it that their relationship was more than just professional.

“Sister Wan, why hasn’t your boyfriend visited you all this while?” Yun Shanshan could not hide her curiosity anymore and decided to ask Chi Wan one day.

Chi Wan put her acting skills to work and made up a story. “We’ve always been from two completely different worlds. I guess he wants to break up with me.”

“What?! How could this be?!”

Yun Shanshan gasped. “He’s so nice to you and I don’t believe he’ll break up. There must be some sort of misunderstanding.”

Chi Wan eyed her humorously. “You’ve only met him once. How do you know that he treats me well?”

Yun Shanshan scratched her head with a perplexed expression. “Intuition, a woman’s sixth sense!”

Chi Wan knocked on her head. “Women often think that they have a sixth sense. This is the first of many illusions faced by modern women.”
