Some people were born to steal the spotlight. Regardless of their appearances or charisma, they stood out from the crowd and caught the attention of others around them, no matter where they went.

Wen Mo was one of them.

“Second Young Master!”

Lin Ya bit her red lip and her eyes glowed as she stared at Wen Mo. She could not help but compare him with Huo Tianye.

Unfortunately, Huo Tianye was nothing compared to Wen Mo.

Wen Mo walked over calmly. His gaze was fixed on Chi Wan alone as if everyone else was invisible to him.

Seeing that she shivered slightly, he removed his coat and placed it around her shoulders without saying a word. He then spoke, “It’s getting cold. Stay warm.”

Chi Wan was surprised and lifted her head to look him in the eye. Then, she accepted the hot tea handed to her by Qin Yu.

“Our Boss says that you don’t have a strong body so you can’t catch a cold. You must take care of yourself!”

Chi Wan was stunned once more.

She remembered that she filmed a scene one and a half years ago where she was soaked in water. As a result, she had a high fever which lasted the whole day.

Later on, despite her recovery, her body developed certain conditions that led to a cold uterus1 and she must not catch a cold.

She had long forgotten about it, but little did she expect… Wen Mo would know.

Chi Wan regarded his cool gaze and a warm, fuzzy feeling spread across her heart. She tugged at his coat and whispered, “Thank you.”

Yun Shanshan felt proud. “You’ve arrived at the right time, Second Young Master Wen. You’ve stopped some rumors!”

She purposefully raised her voice and Wen Mo frowned.

His soft expression hardened and he raised an eyebrow. “What rumors?”

“Second Young Master! Earlier, Lin Ya and Huo Tianye were showing off how affectionate they were. That was fine, but in the process, Lin Ya insulted my Goddess on purpose and said that she was dumped by you!”

Wen Mo shifted his focus from Chi Wan, scanned the sour-faced Huo Tianye, and finally brought his attention to Lin Ya.

Realizing his cold, hard gaze, Lin Ya shuddered and whimpered, “Second Young Master…”

“Miss Lin, I wasn’t around earlier. Please repeat what you’ve said.”

Lin Ya’s legs went weak at once. The prior haughtiness and hostility on her pretty face had disappeared.

“I’m… I’m sorry… I didn’t mean it… Sorry.”

“Didn’t mean it?”

Under Lin Ya’s pleading gaze, Wen Mo’s frosty demeanor softened. He took Chi Wan’s hand and held it up close, scrutinizing her fair, slender fingers.

“What are you doing…”

Chi Wan retreated involuntarily. Wen Mo observed her fingers intently as if he were studying a rare artifact, causing her to blush.

He did not give her a chance to pull her hand back. Instead, he grasped it firmly and wrapped her fingers in his palm. Wen Mo then turned towards Qin Yu. His affectionate smile suddenly gave off an unexpected hint of an ill intention.

“Divest the partnership with Cheng Xi.”

“Yes, Second Young Master.”

Lin Ya went pale. If Huo Tianye was not holding her, she would have collapsed on the ground!

“How could you do that!” she exclaimed.

Wen Mo smiled wanly and said, “Seems like an important case to you, eh? I’m so sorry, Miss Lin. Just like you, I didn’t mean it.”

Tit for tat.

Wen Mo shut Lin Ya up with her own words.

The only thing on Lin Ya’s mind now was to maintain the partnership, regardless of whether he meant it or not!

This was a big case acquired painstakingly by her father. If it got ruined because of her, her father would not let her off the hook so easily!
