Chi Wan was about to say something when Yun Shanshan interrupted her. “I know! I know! My Goddess’s birthday is on 28 August! Virgo! 1.65 meters! Her measurements are…”

Blah blah blah.

Chi Wan twitched her lips and coughed twice to stop her from babbling on.

Yun Shanshan stuck out a tongue at her. Then, she cast a strange look at Chi Ling. “Auntie, why do you need so much money?”

“None of your business!” Chi Ling waved an arm impatiently. “Go now!”

“Whatever. I’ve fulfilled my dream anyway!”

Yun Shanshan rolled her eyes and dragged Chi Wan out of the room. When she got into the Porsche, she suddenly remembered something and a puzzled look appeared on her face.

“I was so excited that I forgot something. Goddess, is Auntie really your aunt?”

Chi Wan started her car and acknowledged the girl nonchalantly.

“It can’t be.” Yun Shanshan scratched her head. “I remember that Auntie is an only child and she doesn’t have any siblings!”

Chi Wan replied, “She isn’t my dad’s biological sister. I heard that she’s a distant cousin and I’ve always called her Auntie.”

Both her parents were the only children in their families and her paternal grandparents had passed away a long time ago.

She was unsure whether her maternal grandparents were still alive. Her aunt never told her about them.

Ever since her parents passed away, she had no guardian and her only option was to find this distant relative to take care of her.

Yun Shanshan responded with an “Ok”, but she still felt that something was off.

Nevertheless, she was a candid person and did not bother about it. Like a noisy little sparrow, she began to declare her admiration for Chi Wan.

“Goddess, I must first let you know that I’m not using you as a stepping stone because I can’t find a job. I’m a Harvard graduate and I studied Business Administration. I was on holiday here. When Auntie mentioned she’s your aunt as well, I swore I must get close to you first!”

Her expression was one of passion and openness.

Chi Wan could not help but cough again…

A Harvard graduate as her assistant? What a waste of skills.

She was not close to Yun Shanshan and was not interested in whether the latter made the right choice in choosing to work for her.

Perhaps, once the initial excitement wore off, she would leave.

Aside from being a little too enthusiastic, this young girl suited her preferences.

Chi Wan brought her to the film set. Since she had decided to make the girl her assistant, it was a good idea for her to get used to her work environment.

Along the way, the young girl never stopped chattering. She finally shut up, albeit reluctantly, when they reached their destination.

For some strange reason, Chi Wan let out a sigh of relief. ‘What a chatterbox!’ she thought.

“Sister Wan, you don’t even find me to be annoying. You’re such a nice person!” Yun Shanshan commented with a touching expression.

Sweat appeared on Chi Wan’s forehead after she got labeled as a nice person. It was not that she did not find the girl to be annoying, but she was just too shy to tell her to shut up.

The filming had begun. Chi Wan ignored the looks of awe or suspicion directed at her and sat down. Before she could have a drink, a commotion ensued.

“Best Actor Huo is here for a visit!”

“The f*ck?! Is that really him? Who’s he visiting?”

The wan smile on Chi Wan’s face froze and then vanished. She acted as if nothing happened.

“Tianye!”

Lin Ya, who was getting her makeup done in the dressing room, rushed out. Ignoring the onlookers, she dashed into Huo Tianye’s arms as he approached.

Everybody was appalled!

Chi Wan was taken aback, too.

Were they about to publicly announce their relationship?

Chi Wan did not get it. Huo Tianye was a career-focused man. In spite of his fame, it was as he said, that it was not enough.
