Not bad.

As expected, there would be unpleasant comments, such as those which said that she was a gold digger, a leech and that she wanted to be married to a wealthy man.

Still, there were also superficial stans who thought that she and Wen Mo were a perfect couple and a match made in heaven.

Peace returned to Chi Wan’s life at last. At least, that was how it looked.

There was still some time left before the filming for “The Path of Danger” began. She needed to finish the shooting for the upcoming TV series as soon as possible and complete the projects at hand.

It was quite rushed, but she enjoyed the moment.

She dealt with two film crews during the day. By night, she slept soundly in her bed. A few days have passed.

Mu Yunshen no longer looked for her, and Wen Mo seemed to have disappeared from her life.

Apart from Huo Tianye’s absence, nothing much changed in her life.

The filming for “Unforgettable” would be wrapped up today. Once she has completed the remaining scenes, it was “Mission Accomplished” for her.

Lin Ya was the female lead of this series while Chi Wan was the second female lead. In the final scene, both of them had to play opposite each other.

When Chi Wan woke up in the morning, she knew that she could not avoid meeting Lin Ya.

She was not afraid, but she simply did not want to stir up trouble.

It took two to tango for affairs to happen. She hated Huo Tianye the most, but she did not like Lin Ya, the other woman, either.

Chi Wan took a deep breath, got dressed and was about to head out when she received a phone call from her aunt.

Chi Ling merely told her to come back at once, or else she would throw a fit again.

Chi Wan informed the director that she was running late. The Porsche that she was in then changed its direction.

When she entered the apartment, she saw Chi Ling and an unknown girl sitting on the sofa.

Noticing Chi Wan’s entrance, the girl’s large, doe eyes widened. She screamed and ran towards her!

“Goddess, Goddess!1 You’re my idol! I’m your die-hard fan! Oh oh oh~”

Chi Wan was confused by this girl’s overt friendliness. “You are?”

Chi Ling answered impatiently on the girl’s behalf, “This is the daughter of my useless husband’s little brother, Yun Shanshan.”

The girl said, “Goddess! Just call me Shanshan!”

“Shanshan has just graduated from university and lacks a job. Aren’t you short of an assistant right now? Let her help you,” said Chi Ling in a businesslike manner.

“Goddess, let me be your assistant! I’ll work really hard!” Yun Shanshan held up a fist.

Chi Wan was stunned by how pure this girl was. For some reason, she let her guard down and nodded unintentionally.

“Ok.”

After all, she was actually in desperate need of an assistant.

Yun Shanshan whooped happily and ran around the apartment with joy!

Chi Ling seemed rather pleased. Then, she recalled something and spoke, “I don’t have any money with me. Do you have some?”

As usual, Chi Wan got out her purse and set all of the banknotes onto the coffee table.

“That’s all I have.”

“What am I supposed to do with two thousand bucks?” spat Chi Ling as she counted the money and complained. “I lost everything in a day. Chi Wan, it was hard work raising you and this is how you repay me? By dismissing me with scraps?”

Chi Wan regarded her aunt coldly. Then, she took out a card. “There’s a hundred thousand left in here. The PIN is my birthday.”

“That’s more like it!” Chi Ling threw her a sideways look. “There’s still some compassion in you after all. Right, when’s your birthday? I’ve forgotten about it.”

Chi Wan felt really hurt when she saw the indifferent expression of her aunt —— her only relative.
