Lin Ya looked at Chi Wan as she strutted down the corridor. “Aren’t you going after her?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Huo Tianye’s thin lips curled into a smile. “No, I guess I’m not going to.”

His gaze flickered with a hint of uncertainty as the words left his mouth.

It was almost as if he felt remorse and wanted to hide, and suppress it. Still, this inexplicable feeling was soon hidden deep within himself.

Chi Wan continued walking step after step. She kept her head up despite her tears, her proud smile never leaving her.

In the end, he didn’t come after her…

Her last glimmer of hope finally decided to leave her heart.

In the blink of an eye, her world had been ravaged and her only pillar of support crumbled into dust.

Huo Tianye might not know this; she was never good at expressing herself, but to an orphan like her, he was her whole world and her everything!

His indifference might as well have been a slap to her face!

All Chi Wan wanted was to hide somewhere alone.

Just for tonight. The next day, Chi Wan would become as infallible as she ever was.

A lump began to form in her throat. She covered her mouth and picked up her pace.

All of a sudden, she bumped into something, losing her balance and falling to the ground.

“I’m so sorry! Are you okay?”

Chi Wan lowered her head for about 10 seconds. When she lifted her gaze back up there was no trace of her expression of pain aside from the tear marks on her face.

“I’m fine, thank you.”

She glanced at the waiter and got up on her own. She looked at the cart filled with various types of liquor, picked a glass at random and started drinking.

The waiter was taken aback. He immediately gave a questioning look at a man hiding in a corner, dressed in a tuxedo.

The man in the tuxedo looked at Chi Wan in turn and thought she seemed familiar.

He pondered for a while before realizing that she was a B-list celebrity of an entertainment company under Young Master Mu.

He heard that Chi Wan had a very poor reputation.

A person like her was suited to the task assigned by Young Master Mu today.

However, he did not recall Young Master Mu mentioning a change in the person.

The man in the tuxedo glanced at his watch. There was not much time left, the details would have to take a back seat.

Chi Wan had no idea that her simple gesture would lead her into a huge and sprawling trap.

She threw the glass into a dustbin in the corridor and headed for her room.

Her entire body felt light after drinking. The alcohol had numbed the pain in her heart.

Suddenly, she seemed to have bumped into a wall and stretched both arms out to grope for support. However, her wobbly legs gave way and she collapsed.

She inhaled deeply. A light smile of fresh grass wafted into her nose.

Wen Mo glanced at her coldly and frowned.

His special assistant, Qin Yu —— who was standing behind him —— and a group of bodyguards were instead shocked.

Once the initial embarrassment had passed, Wen Mo regained his usual calmness, grabbed hold of Chi Wan’s arm and dragged her out gently.

Chi Wan forced herself to open her eyes. She lifted her head and saw the man who was very much taller than her.

He had a high nose bridge, red lips and aesthetically pleasing features which gave him tranquil and ethereal air around him. The pale, yellow light that fell on him gave his skin a light, golden tint, making him look flawless.

His narrow, beady eyes harbored calmness and did not give off any hint of rage.

He simply regarded her quietly and by doing so, he exuded a sort of elegance and posh charisma. He exuded the aura of a nobleman.

A man like him who emanated an air of opulence was attractive to many women. At the same time, however, his characteristics caused them to give him a wide berth.

If Chi Wan had a clear mind, she would have avoided a dangerous figure like him.

Nevertheless, she could not control her senses right now and kissed the man without a moment’s hesitation.

Qin Yu was shocked!

Second Young Master had never kissed anyone for twenty-five years of his life, and now it had been taken away from him. As a qualified special assistant, Qin Yu swore to protect the Big Boss’s virginity at all costs!

Wen Mo, who had always been the kind of person who remained calm under pressure, also froze for two seconds.

His calm gaze shifted for a while. Before he could push this strange woman away, Qin Yu stretched out an arm and grabbed Chi Wan’s wrist firmly, preparing to drag her away.

“Stop it.”

Before Chi Wan could be thrown out, Wen Mo spoke.

Qin Yu could only obey his command.

Wen Mo had always been obsessed with cleanliness. He took out a handkerchief from his pocket.
