Wen Mo’s gaze was gentle as ever, but when Chi Wan felt the hint of a smile on his lips, why did she think that he was so…

Annoying?

She had never even filmed a kissing scene!

She would have punched his face if it was not for the crowd of onlookers down there.

Assuming that this kiss could have erased the accusations towards them, she was still on the losing end!

The reporters stared at the perfect couple on the platform. They soon came to their senses and began to capture the stunning scene!

A moment later, Wen Mo’s calm gaze darkened and he let go of Chi Wan.

“That’s all for the press conference.”

As soon as Wen Mo finished speaking, a swarm of bodyguards lined up at the front to prevent anyone from rushing onto the platform.

Wen Mo then offered a hand to Chi Wan.

She hesitated for a second before placing her hand onto his palm.

He led her down the platform slowly and they walked away.

At the same time, the series of camera flashes did not stop. Each one of the couple’s actions was caught on camera.

“Boss?” Joy headed backstage hastily with a nervous expression on his face.

Young Master Mu leaned against a pillar lazily while observing the direction into which Wen Mo and Chi Wan were headed for.

After a while, he smiled. “It means something…”

Joy did not understand him. “What do you mean by that?”

“Wen Mo’s gesture means something. And there’s more to that woman.”

“It’s all because of Chi Wan! Our plans are now foiled!” The mere mention of Chi Wan caused Joy’s blood to boil. “Don’t worry, boss! I’ll teach her a lesson and make her regret working in showbiz!”

“No.” Young Master Mu’s lips curled upward. His eyes twinkled with mischief. “I wish to meet her personally.”

Chi Wan got into Wen Mo’s car. She was stressed out at that moment and did not know what to say.

All of a sudden, Wen Mo spoke. He asked, “Why?”

Chi Wan wanted to roll her eyes.

This young master was a man of few words, but she was not a particularly amiable person either.

She replied, “Nothing, what I said was basically the truth.”

Wen Mo scanned her with a lopsided head.

This woman was still wearing the same dress from last night. Her light brown, wavy hair hung loose on her shoulders.

She was sitting up straight and let off a cold, distant aura.

A beautiful face complemented by an unapproachable charisma made her seem rather alluring. These were contrasting charms.

“Aren’t you afraid something will happen to you?” Every circle had its fair share of dirty secrets.

Chi Wan chuckled in a cynical yet bitter manner. Her voice was light and airy. “Why should I be afraid? I’ve got nothing to lose.”

She was an orphan who was seen as a curse to her dead parents. Her only aunt wanted her to vanish from the face of the earth while her boyfriend, whom she had been with for a few years, dumped her for someone else.

She was alone and had nothing to fear.

Wen Mo looked at the woman in front of him. She was laughing, but her laugh was more heart-wrenching than a cry.

Her sadness affected him. For a moment, he wanted to hug her and tell her that she did not have to force herself to smile.

Then again, he thought it was a funny idea.

Wen Mo asked, “Don’t you have anything to ask me?”

Chi Wan merely raised an eyebrow. “Nothing. You did everything to help me, Mr. Wen. In fact, you didn’t have to show yourself. Thus, I should thank you.”

Qin Yu pouted with satisfaction as he drove. At least this woman had a heart.

Second Young Master could have used any method to resolve the issue and yet, he chose the method which benefited Chi Wan.

She was ultimately a rather pitiful woman. She somehow got involved in this mess, but she never told lies to the reporters. It showed that she was a rather kind person.

However, what she said next took a drastic turn!

“Still, before you make any decisions involving me, could you inform me first, Mr. Wen? After all, you have no right to make any decision for me.”

Qin Yu was appalled and decided to take back what he thought of Chi Wan.

Wen Mo looked at her and said, “I left you my number but you never called.”

Chi Wan recalled that incident and let out a sarcastic laugh. “Are you blaming me?”

Wen Mo frowned. He could not comprehend the reason for her anger.

Chi Wan realized that she had gone overboard. She was not an ungrateful person.

This man had helped her. She walked into someone else’s trap last night and ended up in this mess.

“I’m sorry, I’ve lost my cool.” She exhaled and collected herself.

Wen Mo twitched his brows. He seemed to be surprised by her apology.

Seeing the growing fury on her face, he spoke slowly, “Miss Chi, let’s get back to the subject. This time, I had no other choice. Since what’s done is done, let’s discuss what happens next.”

Qin Yu pouted. Chi Wan was in luck. She was the first rumored girlfriend of the Wen family’s second young master!

It was enough to elevate her fame even though it was a fake relationship.

The news about Second Young Master and Chi Wan’s relationship should make the national headlines tomorrow. Till then, the socialites and bachelorettes who have had crushes on the big boss and who waited patiently for him to come home would be crying their eyes out!

Chi Wan pricked up her ears and listened attentively.

“Three months in and we’ll break up. The process is simple too. Our relationship will go from hot to cold and we’ll settle it peacefully.”

Chi Wan thought of that as well. Moreover, it was obvious from his tone that he had already made a decision.

“Alright.”

“As for the part where I never sought your consent when making decisions, under certain circumstances, I can…”
