Invincible Evocation - Chapter 58

The temperature in the quiet room suddenly went up a little.

Ye Jianhao’s body gave off a fiery air. Even his breathing instantly seemed heavier.

“Brother Rong, there are no less than a thousand talismans here, right?” His eyes were shining. He looked at the talismans like he was either a glutton who was staring at a table filled with good wine and delicacies or like a lecherous demon looking upon a beautiful virgin clothed in thin chiffon. This was clearly a look of greed and a blatant wish to take these talismans for himself.

Rong Kaixuan chuckled and said, “Brother Ye, there are a thousand talismans here alright. I prepared them for you.”

“Alright.” Ye Jianhao nodded gravely. He quickly smiled brightly. “I knew you wouldn’t disappoint me.” He laughed heartily and said, “A thousand Level 1 Supreme Grade Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talismans are worth 50,000 Spirit Coins. Heh-heh, but I believe you would definitely want some more blank talismans, isn’t that so?”

Rong Kaixuan grinned. “Brother Ye knows me best.” He put up one finger and said, “I would like 10,000 pieces.”

Ye Jianhao nodded and replied, “I’ve come a few days later than expected because I was preparing blank talismans for you. I’ve brought all the stock the county has. There are 15,000 blank talismans here.”

He stretched his hand out to reveal a storage ring on his finger. The color of this ring was darker and didn’t look exactly the same as the one Rong Kaixuan had.

He gently flicked his finger. Several large boxes and bags of Spirit Coins started flowing out of the storage space like water.

“Each box has a thousand talismans, and each bag carries a thousand Spirit Coins,” Ye Jianhao said in a low voice. “You can open them up to check.”

Rong Kaixuan took a deep breath. His heart started beating faster.

The 10,000 blank talismans were impressive themselves, but 40,000 Spirit Coins was a huge fortune. Even if Rong Jielin was the one with so much money, he would have been impressed as well, never mind Rong Kaixuan.

Rong Kaixuan took his storage ring out and swept his hand across the boxes and bags to put them away in his storage space.

He soon frowned slightly because he realized that after he had put all these things away, the storage space in the storage ring was almost full.

“Brother Ye, does Donghua Treasure Hall have storage rings for sale?”

Ye Jianhao laughed bitterly and said, “Brother Rong, of course, Donghua Treasure Hall has storage rings and the like for sale. The price of these things is astronomical, and not everyone is eligible to buy one.” He sighed quietly and pointed to the ring on his finger. “I made a special request to borrow this one because I was going out of the city. As for my own…” His gaze fell on the storage ring that was on Rong Kaixuan’s hand. “After working hard for the hall for more than 20 years, I finally managed to become eligible to buy one.”

Rong Kaixuan immediately stood up and bowed deeply to Ye Jianhao. He sincerely said, “Thank you so much, Brother Ye.”

It was only now that he truly understood how valuable the storage ring Ye Jianhao gave him was.

It was something that one couldn’t necessarily get their hands on even if one had money.

Ye Jianhao gently waved his arm and said, “Brother Rong, the hall has its own rules. The bigger the transactions, the higher our managerial level will be. As long as you continue to transact with me, my position in the hall will rise significantly. When that happens, it won’t be impossible if you wish to buy a higher-grade storage item.”

Rong Kaixuan seriously nodded and replied, “I get it now.” He looked at the box of talismans in front of him and suddenly said, “Brother Ye, I have a question I would like to ask you.”

“Please go ahead and speak your mind.”

“Brother Ye, I’ve already sold you so many Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talismans, so will the price fall as a result?” Rong Kaixuan asked a little worriedly.

He was no businessman, but he understood that the rarer a thing was, the more valuable it was. If there was too much supply of a particular thing and it surpassed the demand for it, the price would go down.

Ye Jianhao was surprised by the question and looked back at Rong Kaixuan rather strangely.

After a moment, he sighed quietly and asked, “Brother Rong, do you know how many cultivators are in this world?”

Rong Kaixuan shook his head in confusion.

“This world is vast beyond our imagination. Just our county alone has at least 10 million cultivators.” Ye Jianhao shook his head and said, “Never mind a thousand talismans, but even if I sell 10,000 pieces, 100,000 pieces, or a million pieces, they would be used up in no time. ”

Rong Kaixuan understood. The worry he had disappeared.

Ye Jianhao suddenly smacked his forehead and said, “Brother Rong, look at how old and forgetful your brother here is becoming.” He pulled out a manual and some random bottles and cans from his coat. “These things should be yours. Please take them.”

Rong Kaixuan was a little stunned. “These things are…”

Ye Jianhao quietly asked, “Brother Rong, do you remember the last time you killed off a Demonic Spiritualist?”

Rong Kaixuan’s face paled slightly as he replied, “I would never dare to forget that.”

Ye Jianhao looked intensely at him and said, “I found these on him. I have been hesitating all this time about whether to give them to you or not. After seeing your talent in creating talismans, I’m feeling assured enough.” He laughed and said, “Since your success rate in creating talismans is so high, it shows that the determination in your heart is much stronger than most others. So, even if I leave this Demonic Spiritualist’s manual in your hands, you would never give up on cultivating the basic spells and switch to the dark side.”

Rong Kaixuan nodded gravely and replied, “I understand what you mean. Thank you so much, Brother Ye.”

Ye Jianhao nodded satisfactorily and smiled. He grabbed the talismans and left with his men, even though Rong Kaixuan tried to get him to stay.

After thinking about it for some time, Rong Kaixuan went to his grandfather’s room. He didn’t hide anything from him. He took most of the blank talismans and Spirit Coins out from his storage ring and placed them in the family safe.

Rong Jielin was shocked by this huge transaction that his grandson had done.

He thought for a while before asking, “Kaixuan, are you preparing to set off soon?”

Rong Kaixuan nodded gently and said, “That’s right, Grandpa.”

Rong Jielin sighed quietly and said, “I know you mean well and want to find Five Colored Orpiment to cure Kaihua of the poison completely, but this sort of precious item is not the easiest thing to find.” He shook his head and added, “If you go into the mountains alone to search for it, it’ll be like finding a needle in a haystack. The chances of you finding it is too low.”

Rong Kaixuan’s face fell a little, but he soon looked up and said, “Grandpa, I understand, but I would still like to go into the mountains.” He had an immovable determination in his voice. “Actually, I know that it’s almost impossible to find Five Colored Orpiment all by myself.”

“Since you already know that, why do you still want to go?” Rong Jielin asked as his expression darkened.

“I want to increase my ability as quickly as possible, so I have to cultivate in the mountains,” Rong Kaixuan honestly replied. “Brother Ye said before that Donghua Treasure Hall has everything under the sun, but there are restrictions on what level a cultivator has to be at to purchase certain items. If I were a Spiritualist Grandmaster now, once I paid the correct amount of money, I could get Five Colored Orpiment from Donghua Treasure Hall already.”

Rong Jielin remained silent for a long time before finally letting out a deep sigh. “Alright.” He got up and dug around in the box behind him. He pulled out a pair of boots and said, “Kaixuan, since you’re so insistent on going into the mountains, I will not stop you. Look, this is a present I’ve prepared for you. I wanted to give it to you only after you had reached Peak Stage, but you can take it now.”

Rong Kaixuan was dumbfounded as he took them from his grandfather. He looked at the boots carefully. His eyes suddenly lit up. “Is this a Spirit Weapon?”

“That’s right. After wearing this pair of boots, you can fill it with True Qi and activate the power of the Spirit Weapon.” Rong Jielin sternly warned him, “It can make you feel as light as a swallow and will increase your speed by several times. Before going into the mountains, I would advise you to get used to them first.”

“I will. Thank you so much, Grandpa,” Rong Kaixuan gratefully said as he bowed deeply to his grandfather.

Rong Jielin waved his hand and said, “Practice often. In five days, I’ll get Kaihua and Kaili to enter the mountains with you.”

Rong Kaixuan was alarmed and said, “Grandpa, that won’t do.”

Rong Jielin scoffed quietly and said, “I’ll be more assured if you three brothers go out together.” He waved his hand again to tell Rong Kaixuan to leave the room.

There was nothing Rong Kaixuan could do but leave the room with drooping shoulders.

After returning to his room, he changed into the boots and filled them with True Qi.

He immediately felt a huge force come out from the inside of the boots. With the help of this force, he could jump nearly 30 feet high and 100 feet far.

The speed he could go at was nearly as fast as lightning. It was nearly as fast as his rate of spellcasting.

Rong Kaixuan was very excited. He wore the boots into the courtyard, wildly jumping and running around. Thankfully, this was a restricted area within the house, so only family members were allowed inside there. Servants and others were not allowed to go in. Even if he made a lot of noise, he wouldn’t attract any attention.

After about fifteen minutes, Rong Kaixuan had no choice but to stop.

He had consumed too much of the True Qi in his body, so he actually felt too tired to continue.

He sighed to himself. It was little wonder that his grandfather refused to give him a Spirit Weapon early on. These things consumed a great amount of True Qi. If one didn’t have enough stored in his own body, using a Spirit Weapon would drag him down.

After Rong Kaixuan thought about these things for a while, he walked out of the house and went toward the largest marketplace in the city.

For the past few months, he had either locked himself in the room to create talismans or been in the Manuals Library reading manuals.

Now that the date to enter the mountains was set and everything was prepared, he relaxed a little.

To him, the most attractive place in the Rong clan Main House wasn’t the Hall of Spiritualists. It was the noisy and busy marketplace that had all sorts of things for sale.

The last time he went to the marketplace with his father they didn’t have much money on them, so he could only look at various items but couldn’t afford to buy them. Things were different now. He had a lot of Spirit Coins, so he didn’t have to hold back. He was able to buy whatever he wanted.

After he entered the marketplace, he was instantly enthralled by the liveliness of the place.

After walking around for half the day, Rong Kaixuan was attracted to all sorts of strange trinkets and bought several things.

Luckily for him, he had the special tag for all direct descendants of the clan. He just needed to show his tag, tell them which family he was from when he was buying things, and pay a deposit. These merchants would send the items directly to his home and settle the balance of the payment with the housekeeper.

Of course, this service was only available at those merchants that actually had a shopfront. Rong Kaixuan stayed far away from those who set up their stall on the ground.

After what happened the last time, he didn’t really like those people and had grievances in his heart. Thus, he remained as far away from them as possible.

After walking around leisurely for a long time, his excitement slowly died down. He wanted to return home.

Just at that moment, a rather villainous-looking middle-aged man squeezed through the crowd and appeared in front of Rong Kaixuan with a big smile on his face. “Young man, I’ve noticed that you’ve been walking around the marketplace for a long time. Have you been unable to find something you like?”

Rong Kaixuan was surprised. His eyelid twitched slightly as he asked in a low voice, “Have you been watching me for the whole day?”

The middle-aged man laughed and said, “Don’t worry, I’m not watching you in particular. I’m just keeping an eye on everyone who’s spending money generously.”
