Invincible Evocation - Chapter 55

Rong Kaixuan was in his bedroom slowly breathing out True Qi.

Between the path to becoming a Spiritualist and the path to becoming a Martial Artist, Rong Kaixuan had made an unexpected decision. He had not given up cultivating on either path. Instead, he kept both Spirit Power and True Qi and cultivated them at the same time.

For a beginner, this method of doing things was definitely a path that led to nowhere.

Cultivation of both True Qi and Spirit Power needed a tremendous amount of time.

On top of that, the path of cultivation was ultimately the path of battling.

Purely focusing on cultivation wasn’t very useful. If one did not support it with relevant battling techniques, it was difficult to break through to the next stage after a certain point in cultivation.

The time it took for a Martial Artist to cultivate his Martial Arts techniques and for a Spiritualist to cultivate his spells did not take any less time than the time taken to gather and refine True Qi or Spirit Power.

For most ordinary cultivators, they were in a race against time. They had to grasp as many things as they could within the limited time they had.

Rong Kaixuan was different. He left six Spirit Bodies to cultivate in the mountains for him, so he didn’t need to spend time cultivating techniques and spells.

The only thing he needed to do was keep refining the True Qi and Spirit Power he had so that he could match the Spirit Bodies’ progress.

Suddenly, Rong Kaixuan frowned slightly while cultivating.

He opened his eyes. There was a surprised look in them.

In that instant, a strange feeling suddenly welled up in his heart.

This was a special feeling that was difficult to describe. It was as if something incomprehensible had happened within his body.

This feeling wasn’t new though. The last time the Spirit Body Fighter increased in cultivation level, he had sensed the same feeling. He felt a movement in his heart. Had those Spirit Bodies in the deep mountains increased in level again?

Wasn’t this rate of increase a little too fast?

Rong Kaixuan redirected his consciousness into the middle of the little round ball.

Inside the ball, the few shadows were still there. They quietly floated in their own space. The glow around the shadows, which represented the five elemental Spirit Body Spellcasters, seemed to be brighter than before.

Rong Kaixuan immediately understood that the Spirit Body Spellcasters had increased in level at the same time.

Even though he was the one who had evoked these Spirit Bodies, Rong Kaixuan couldn’t help but feel incredibly surprised by what he saw. It felt rather magical to him.

He didn’t understand how these five Spirit Bodies could have increased in level at the same time. Were these five Spirit Bodies together all the time?

Rong Kaixuan shook his head and directed his Divine Sense towards the five Spirit Bodies in the mountains.

All the things these Spirit Bodies had experienced in the past few weeks instantly surged into his mind like a giant wave.

Gaining a huge addition to one’s memory was a dangerous thing. If this was the first time Rong Kaixuan had received this amount, he might have instantly lost consciousness. He had already received a lot of information many times over. While it did cause him a little discomfort, this amount of agitation was not considered too much of a burden.

After an hour, Rong Kaixuan let out a long sigh. He finally understood how these Spirit Bodies could move up in level at the same time. They had chased away a giant python that dominated part of the mountain forest in a combined effort.

During the intense battle, the five of them had reached a stage of enlightenment, so they advanced at the same time.

After increasing in level, the five Spirit Bodies didn’t have any change in terms of their outward appearance, but their ability to control and cast spells had reached a fairly frightening level.

For the water element Spirit Body Spellcaster, all it needed to do was to think about it and it could unleash the spell Flowing Water Waves anywhere within a 60-foot radius around itself.

Even an Elementary Stage Spiritualist Mentor might not have been able to cast a spell with such precision, never mind someone at the Spiritualist level.

Similarly, the other elemental Spirit Body Spellcasters were just as excellent at wielding spells of their own element.

Rong Kaixuan frowned and quietly thought for several moments. He redirected his thoughts. An area about 32 feet away from him lit up. That spark was the center. It instantly gave off water ripples that started expanding outward in waves.

Rong Kaixuan had also been able to cast the water element spell of Flowing Water Waves as if it came naturally to him.

His eyes became a little brighter, and he had a tiny smile on his face.

This was definitely the effect of being able to instantly unleash spells.

He had experienced this effect when he had that sudden outburst of energy during his fight with Lin Hui. After that sudden outburst of energy was used, he went back to square one.

He was able to cast various spells quite quickly, but it still wasn’t considered instant.

Now, after the Spirit Body Spellcasters in the mountains had successfully reached Advanced Stage Spiritualists, his own body was able to fully grasp how to instantly unleash spells.

After thinking through what he wanted to do next, Rong Kaixuan stood up and headed for the Hall of Spiritualists.

Given the ridiculous number of talismans he had on hand, it really wasn’t a problem if he wanted to go into the mountains to cultivate. Of course, if he accumulated more trump cards, he wouldn’t give up that chance.

He didn’t mind using the last month he had to increase his power by another level.

In no time, he had reached the Manuals Library.

When he walked into the Manuals Library, he immediately felt the strange looks from everyone around him.

Two months ago, Rong Kaixuan had obtained the right to read any spells manual in the library. The story of how he read two to three five-element Level 1 Low Grade spell manuals every day was already known throughout the entire Hall of Spiritualists.

Nobody thought well of his insane method of doing things.

To them, the prodigy of the Rong clan, a Spirit Gatherer with a bright future, had turned out to be an overly ambitious and arrogant child.

This had become common knowledge among everyone both inside and outside the Hall of Spiritualists.

After Rong Kaixuan finished reading all the Level 1 Low Grade spell manuals of the five elements that were available, he disappeared for two months.

Just when everyone thought that he had finally given up the idea of mastering everything, he had returned to the Manuals Library.

The librarians within the Manuals Library smiled and bowed to him courteously, regardless of whether they were secretly mocking him for overestimating himself or not. They still had to greet him politely with smiles on their faces, and they didn’t dare be rude to him.

After Rong Kaixuan walked into the Manuals Library, he asked in a low voice, “Where is Senior Uncle Huang?”

One of the librarians quickly answered, “Mr. Rong, Mr. Huang has gone to see an elder of the clan.”

“Oh? Which elder is he seeing?”

“Elder Jiexuan.”

Rong Kaixuan frowned slightly. Huang Zixuan was in charge of taking care of the Manuals Library and seldom left the place. Just when he decided to come, this powerful man of the Hall of Spiritualists wasn’t around, so he was a little upset.

With a wave of his hand, Rong Kaixuan dismissed the librarian and walked into the first story.

Nothing there had changed at all. The two gigantic bookcases were still in the same place.

There were four Spiritualists seated in between the two bookcases. Each of them was holding a manual and reading it with great focus.

Rong Kaixuan was a little surprised, but a small smile spread across his face. Even his gaze softened a little. He had noticed that Wang Xiaoxiao was among them. She was the young lady who had taught him basic spells.

Most Spiritualists were completely focused on reading when they read manuals and didn’t bother themselves with what was happening around them.

Even though they were able to sense that someone had entered the library, nobody bothered to look up and see who it was.

After hesitating for a moment, Rong Kaixuan decided not to disturb her. He turned and walked toward the second bookshelf.

The manuals on this bookshelf were the true treasures of the spells meant for Spiritualist level cultivators. Level 1 High Grade spells were the most powerful spells that cultivators at the Spiritualist level were able to cast.

A look of anticipation flashed in Rong Kaixuan’s eyes. He finally stretched an arm out and tapped on one of the manuals for a water element spell.

Just as he wanted to remove this spell manual from the shelf, the bookshelf gleamed and gave off a protective force that instantly repelled his finger.

When the bookshelf unleashed that protective force, the jade tag that Rong Kaixuan had on him didn’t react at all.

He sighed to himself. The Manuals Library had very strict rules. He was allowed to read only Level 1 Low Grade spell manuals and could take any he fancied, but there was nothing he could do if he wanted to read Level 1 High Grade spell manuals.

“Junior Kaixuan, what are you trying to do?” A slightly stern yet familiar voice rang out from behind him.

Rong Kaixuan didn’t even need to turn to know that this voice belonged to Wang Xiaoxiao.

He turned and saw that besides Wang Xiaoxiao, the other three seniors seated in the middle had also been alarmed by the gleam from the bookshelf’s protective force earlier. They were now staring at him with confused faces.

After they saw Rong Kaixuan and the bookshelf filled with Level 1 High Grade spell manuals next to him, they all understood what had just happened. There was a smile on their faces, but they couldn’t hide the tinge of mockery in their eyes.

“I see that Junior Kaixuan has returned,” a faint voice suddenly said from outside the door.

Wang Xiaoxiao’s expression changed slightly. She took two steps forward and quietly made sure Rong Kaixuan was behind her.

An elegant and good-looking man stepped in from outside the door. It was the top Spirit Spellcaster of the younger generation of the Rong Clan, Rong Kaijie.

When he saw what Wang Xiaoxiao did, the murderous feeling in his heart went up by another level. yet he didn’t show any of that on his face. Instead, he coldly asked, “Junior Kaixuan, are you trying to read the Level 1 High Grade spell manuals?”

Rong Kaixuan felt a chill in his heart. He had killed Rong Kaijie’s younger brother, but Rong Kaijie didn’t seem unhappy with him at all. This man’s ability to hide his true emotions and self had already reached this stage.

Rong Kaixuan barely managed to squeeze a smile out and replied, “Senior Kaijie, I did want to read a Level 1 High Grade spell manual.”

“You’re just an Elementary Stage Spiritualist, yet you actually dreamed of reading a Level 1 High Grade spell manual.” Rong Kaijie suddenly wiped the smile off his face. “Don’t you think you’ve gone a little too far?”

Rong Kaixuan frowned slightly and said, “Senior Kaijie, I have permission from Senior Uncle Huang to read these manuals. Do you have objections concerning Senior Uncle Huang’s instructions?”

Rong Kaijie had a strange smile on his face. “Oh, so Senior Uncle Huang is the one who made these arrangements. Then, I have indeed stepped over the line.”

“Tsk.” A cold scoff suddenly came from outside the door. Huang Zixuan stepped in and glared at Rong Kaixuan. His expression was already authoritative even when he wasn’t angry. “Don’t put words in my mouth.”

“Greetings to Senior Uncle.”

All the Spiritualists in the library bowed to greet him politely, including Wang Xiaoxiao and Rong Kaijie.

“That will do.” Huang Zixuan waved his hands. He looked back at Rong Kaixuan and coldly said, “I only allowed you to read Level 1 Low Grade spell manuals. When did I agree to let you read Level 1 High Grade spell manuals?”
