Invincible Evocation - Chapter 53

Rong Kaixuan slowly sat down on a chair and slightly closed his eyes. After a few moments, his heart had completely calmed down.

After that, he stretched out one of his fingers and lightly tapped the air in front of him.

Some of the mysterious energy within the round ball was immediately released and started spinning in front of him. During the process, an immense amount of Spirit Power of Heaven and Earth surged toward the mysterious energy.

Unlike before, Rong Kaixuan didn’t take in all the Spirit Power that was coming his way and carefully filtered it out.

This time, he didn’t want to evoke a Spirit Body Fighter. He wanted to evoke a Spirit Body Spellcaster, which was more powerful than a Spirit Body Fighter.

A tremendous amount of water element Spirit Power surged toward that bit of mysterious energy in the air and started to combine with it.

Out of all the five elements, the water element was the purest and easiest element to control. Rong Kaixuan had taken quite some time to finally choose this particular element as his starting point.

This wasn’t the first time he was evoking a Spirit Body Spellcaster. The five Spirit Body Spellcasters in the deep mountain were proof of that.

But the situation this time seemed somewhat different.

When that tremendous amount of water element Spirit Power combined itself with the mysterious energy, the extremely solid bit of mysterious energy started to loosen up and become diluted.

Rong Kaixuan’s expression changed a little. What was going on?

He tried his best to control what was happening. His focus instantly reached its maximum.

No matter how hard he tried, the mysterious energy slowly started to dissolve in the water element Spirit Power and eventually disappeared.

Pak…

There were a quiet sound and a wave of strange ripples in the air. Before the Spirit Body Spellcaster was able to fully take shape, it exploded. The Spirit Power it had gathered floated back into the air with the wind.

Rong Kaixuan exhaled deeply. He had a grim look on his face.

A Spirit Gatherer was able to evoke all sorts of Spirit Bodies, but he had heard that those who could evoke Spirit Body Spellcasters had to be at least a Peak Stage Spiritualist before being able to do so.

He had always thought that was just hearsay, but he now believed it. If he didn’t already have a sufficiently strong amount of power within himself as a foundation, there was no way he could evoke a Spirit Body Spellcaster.

His previous success was not because he was truly powerful. It was because of the mysterious energy in the little round ball.

But that mysterious energy wasn’t able to do everything. Once the energy within it was scattered and no longer strong enough to stay together, it was dissolved by the Spirit Power from external forces and eventually turned into nothing.

Rong Kaixuan sighed quietly and shook his head. He had no choice but to put aside the thought of creating Spirit Body Spellcaster Sealing Talismans.

He thought perhaps he could try again after he had become an Advanced Stage Spiritualist.

After he filed that thought away, Rong Kaixuan looked at the empty space in front of him, which still had a little bit of energy floating about, and remembered something else.

Compared to a Spirit Gatherer, even though Spirit Spellcasters weren’t able to create or evoke powerful killing machines like Spirit Bodies, they could create Spell Sealing Talismans.

Even though a Spell Sealing Talisman only held one spell within itself and was never as valuable or powerful as a Spirit Body, Spell Sealing Talismans could unexpectedly turn the tables in a fight if used at the right moment.

Of course, the difference between Spell Sealing Talismans and Spirit Body Sealing Talismans was that one needed Spirit Power to unseal a Spell Sealing Talisman.

In other words, Martial Artists had the ability to activate a Spirit Body Sealing Talisman but only Spiritualists could use Spell Sealing Talismans.

That was also why the two items were so different in value. In general, a Spirit Gatherer never wasted precious Spirit Power to create Spell Sealing Talismans because it was worth way less than what the Spirit Power could do.

But Rong Kaixuan thought differently. After thinking about this for several moments, he took out a large number of blank talismans from the storage ring.

His Spirit Power flowed around the talisman and activated the energy within the talisman. Rong Kaixuan flicked his wrist and tapped the air, instantly releasing the water element spell, Flowing Water Waves.

This spellcasting technique was done extremely quickly and immediately left a unique and mysterious mark on the talisman.

The mark created was like an energy roadmap that guided the Spirit Power of Heaven and Earth to go through a change. As long as a Spiritualist followed this roadmap to control his Spirit Power, Flowing Water Waves would appear in the air.

The glow from the talisman flickered. The mark of the Flowing Water Waves grew clearer before it slowly faded.

This wasn’t an indication that the sealing process had failed. The talisman had become like Spiritualist manuals in which the secrets that only Spiritualists could read were hidden away.

After a moment, Rong Kaixuan put the talisman away. He had a pleased expression on his face.

Even though he wasn’t able to create Spirit Body Spellcaster Sealing Talismans, if he could create some five-element Spell Sealing Talismans, it would increase his options. To him, that wasn’t a bad thing.

During the next month, Rong Kaixuan put all his energy into creating Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talismans and Spell Sealing Talismans.

After working tirelessly at creating talismans, he finally used up all 4,000 blank talismans that he purchased.

When he watched the last blank talisman in his hands also turn into a Spell Sealing Talisman, he wanted to do more. Unfortunately, he had no choice but to stop.

After thinking for some time, he stood up and walked out of his room. He walked to Rong Jielin’s room.

He gently knocked on the door. Rong Jielin’s voice rang out from inside the room. “Come in.”

“Coming in.” Rong Kaixuan pushed the door open and walked in.

Inside the room, Rong Jielin had a book in his hand and was reading it. Rong Cai was by his side. When he saw his one and only Spiritualist grandson, Rong Jielin had a smile on his face. “Kaixuan, you’ve finally come out of your room.”

After Rong Kaixuan returned, he had locked himself inside his room.

Everyone knew that he had gone through a great trauma in Qiangan. His emotions were particularly unsettled after he had dragged his eldest cousin down with him, so he wanted to lock himself in the room to cultivate.

Even though Rong Kaihua wasn’t bothered by his own looks, it didn’t mean that Rong Kaixuan was able to accept what had happened.

So, even Rong Jielin didn’t disturb Rong Kaixuan. They all just waited quietly for Rong Kaixuan to sort himself out and come out of the room by himself.

Rong Kaixuan nodded his head gently and said, “Grandpa, I’ve come out of the room.” He turned and said to Rong Cai, “Hello Grandpa Cai.”

Rong Cai smiled and nodded. “Hello, Young Master Kaixuan.”

Rong Jielin slowly closed the book he was reading. He looked at his grandson and suddenly asked, “Kaixuan, are you feeling guilty about what happened to Kaihua?”

“Yes, I am,” Rong Kaixuan replied without hesitation. “Grandpa, I know a way to help Eldest Brother recover. I will definitely help him recover.”

Rong Jielin smiled and nodded. “I’m really comforted to know that you have that thought in mind.” He paused for a moment and said, “But I want to ask you something. If you and Kaihua exchanged places, would you be willing to save him?”

If Rong Jielin had asked him this question before he went to Qiangan, Rong Kaixuan really wouldn’t have known how to respond.

They were cousins, but they hadn’t known each other for very long. It was a lie if he said that they were bound by a strong bond of friendship and blood ties.

After going through that battle in Qiangan, these feelings in Rong Kaixuan had increased tremendously.

That moment Rong Kaihua had used his sword to pierce the light curtain and flung Rong Kaixuan out with the last bit of strength he had was a moment Rong Kaixuan would remember for life.

The feeling of blood being thicker than water was impossible to remove.

Rong Kaixuan nodded gravely and replied, “Grandpa, I would do my very best to make sure Eldest Brother and the rest don’t get hurt.”

“Ha-ha…” Rong Jielin laughed loudly and said, “That’s it then. You and Kaihua are brothers. Since you’re willing to do everything to save him, then, of course, he’s willing to sacrifice everything to save you.” The old man patted Rong Kaixuan gently on the shoulder. “You want to help Kaihua restore his looks, and that’s a good thing. It’s something that you should work hard toward in this life. But if you constantly wallow in guilt and this matter starts to eat at your heart, it will become an obstacle to increasing in cultivation level.” His smile faded and his voice was clearer as he asked, “Do you think Kaihua will be happy about that?”

Rong Kaixuan was surprised by his words. He clenched his teeth gently and said, “Grandpa, I understand now.” He solemnly added, “I will remember this lesson in my heart, but I will not let this matter become a burden to me or let it eat away at me.”

Rong Jielin’s eyes showed that he was comforted by that statement. Rong Cai applauded Rong Jielin in his heart.

His master was really good at this, but his words were only able to reach their maximum effect if someone of his master’s status said them.

Rong Jielin stroked his long beard. “Kaixuan, why are you looking for me?” He paused for a while and said, “If you’re here to talk about going into the mountains to find those rare treasures for Kaihua, that’s definitely a no. I will not let you enter the mountains to cultivate until your ability reaches Peak Stage Spiritualist.”

Rong Kaixuan gaped and furrowed his brows slightly. Peak Stage Spiritualist sounded like something that was so far from him now.

Rong Kaixuan shook his head and said, “Grandpa, I’m not here to tell you that I’m setting off.” He took out a large box from behind him and said, “Here are some talismans that I created. I hope Grandpa can accept them. You can pass them to my fellow brothers and sisters, as well as important people in the household.”

In this large household, besides Rong Kaihua and the other children of his generation, there were also some important servants.

Servants like Rong Cai had a position that was almost equivalent to the head of the household.

Each of these servants was a high-level cultivator, and they all had children and grandchildren. These talismans could be used as a reward they received for serving the family well, as well as encourage them to keep serving the family.

Rong Jielin laughed. He had already heard from Rong Cai and the rest about how Rong Kaixuan generously gave away talismans, so he wasn’t surprised by this action at all.

He took the box from Rong Kaixuan and said, “Alright, since this is a gift from your heart, I will accept these on behalf of them.”

Something created by an Elementary Stage Spiritualist was not very useful to a Peak Stage Martial Artist like himself.

To the younger ones, this was a rare and valuable gift.

He was very comforted that his grandson had such thoughts.

Rong Jielin opened the box. The moment his and Rong Cai’s gazes fell upon the contents of the box, the relaxed expressions on their faces instantly stiffened.

There was a look of disbelief and great shock in the eyes of the two old men.
