Invincible Evocation - Chapter 49

“Eldest Brother, here is a Face Restoration Pill. You have to consume half of the pill and apply the other half externally for your face to go back to normal.” Rong Kaixuan placed the pill in his hands inside the bedroom. He hesitated for a while before saying, “But this pill will only help to restore your features. It can’t get rid of the poison inside your head, so the blackness of your skin will not completely go away.”

Rong Kaihua took the pill from him. His hands were trembling.

After hearing what his cousin told him, he was quiet for a moment before laughing. “Kaixuan, I’m a grown man, not a vain lady. Why do I need to care about the color of my skin?”

These words were from the bottom of his heart. To a high-level practitioner, outward appearances were just a bag they lived in, so they did not care too much about it.

But Rong Kaihua’s face was now covered in multiple frightening looking little tumors, so it wasn’t just disfigurement. They made him look like a monster, which was why Rong Kaihua was unable to accept it despite being so stronghearted.

As long as the tumors were removed, no matter how ugly his face was, at least he would look like a human being.

Rong Kaixuan quietly walked out. Rong Cai whispered, “Young Master Kaixuan, I can’t believe you really managed to get a Level 3 pill.” He couldn’t hide the surprise in his eyes as he said, “I intended to report this matter to Master and ask him to bring his request to the elders of the clan. As long as we paid a price high enough, we might have been able to get a Face Restoration Pill.” He let out a long sigh and said, “Since that Manager Ye thinks so highly of you, then you must repay him well in the future for this.”

Rong Kaixuan smiled faintly and replied, “Grandpa Cai, I will always remember how Brother Ye helped us when we were in trouble.”

Rong Yihe pursed his lips and quietly said, “Kaixuan, I’m really thankful to you.”

Before Rong Kaixuan could respond, Rong Yiyang cut in. “Eldest Brother, why are you thanking this unfilial son? If he hadn’t gone out there by himself and run into trouble, Kaihua wouldn’t have gotten injured.”

Rong Yihe shook his head and said, “Yiyang, we’re people on the road of cultivation. Even if one doesn’t meet a strong enemy now, one will eventually run into one. You can’t blame Kaixuan for this.” He glanced at Rong Kaixuan and said, “Kaixuan, next time you go out there, you must remember to be careful, cautious, and alert at all times.”

Rong Kaixuan nodded gravely and replied, “First Uncle, this happened because my ability was insufficient to fight the enemy. If my ability was sufficient, we wouldn’t have ended up in this state.”

Rong Yihe smiled faintly and said, “It’s good that you know that, so you must cultivate well in the future.”

“Got it,” Rong Kaixuan solemnly replied.

Rong Cai and Rong Yihe looked at each other and just smiled without saying anything.

Back when the two of them had inspected the scene where the battle had happened, they were filled with indignation. On top of that, they couldn’t figure out how on earth Rong Kaixuan and Rong Kaihua had managed to get out of this situation and even killed off all their opponents.

Since Rong Kaixuan had just regained consciousness and Rong Kaihua looked like he did, even if they had many questions they wanted to ask, they could only hide them in their heart.

Creak…

The door suddenly opened. Rong Kaihua finally walked out of the bedroom.

Everyone immediately focused their attention and turned their heads. They were all a little stunned by what they saw.

All those frightening tumors on Rong Kaihua’s face were gone. Even his features had gone back to the way they originally were. There wasn’t even a single scar on this face.

Face Restoration Pills were a Level 3 pill, so it did have a magical sort of effect that was hard to rival.

Just as Rong Kaixuan had said earlier, Rong Kaihua’s skin was still covered in a greyish layer. It made him look like either he was very ill and on the brink of death or like an old man who was about to die. He was missing the healthy color of a young man.

“Eldest… Eldest Brother…” Rong Kaixuan took a step forward. He felt his nose wrinkle up. His voice even started to crack.

Rong Kaihua laughed heartily and asked, “You silly little boy, are you going to cry?” He patted Rong Kaixuan’s shoulders hard and said, “Grandpa Cai, Father, Third Uncle, I’m so sorry for making all of you worry about me.”

Rong Yiyang sighed deeply and said, “Kaihua, I should be the one saying sorry to you.”

Rong Kaihua shook his head. “Third Uncle, what are you talking about? Kaihua calls me Eldest Brother, but I wasn’t able to protect him. That’s a failure on my part.”

Rong Kaixuan felt a warmth in his heart. He loudly declared, “Eldest Brother, next time I’ll be the one protecting you!”

Rong Kaihua was stunned by this and burst out laughing. “Sure! But I don’t want a crybaby to protect me.”

Rong Kaixuan’s eyelids twitched a few times. He took a deep breath and said, “I won’t cry anymore.”

Rong Kaihua nodded and sternly said, “That’s right. Grandpa said before that men can bleed but must not cry. If you want to go further on the road of Martial Arts, you must remember these words.” It was as if he suddenly thought of something and added, “Since you’re a Spiritualist, even if you cry now and then, it’s still forgivable.”

Rong Kaixuan was upset and whined, “Eldest Brother…”

Rong Kaihua laughed loudly again. His laughter was filled with happiness and didn’t sound forced or held back.

Rong Cai and Rong Yihe looked at one another and slowly nodded.

After their battle, Rong Kaihua and Rong Kaixuan had both matured a lot. Even though Rong Kaihua had gone through disfigurement, his heart for Martial Arts had become stronger than before. That was very useful for his future cultivation.

One experienced great terror when pushed to the brink of death.

If one got through the terror and survived the ordeal, one would reap great rewards.

Since Rong Kaihua was not bothered by the blackish color of his skin, it meant that his emotional state had reached a new point.

Which such a resilient mentality, his future was certainly bright.

Rong Yihe suddenly pulled a small item out. It was a tiny round ball. It rolled around in the middle of his palm.

“Kaihua, Kaixuan, when we got to the little house, Manager Ye Jianhao had sent someone to pass us this Spirit Weapon.” He asked in a low voice, “How did both of you kill off these despicable robbers and escape this ordeal?”

This question had been on his mind all this while. Now, he finally got a chance to ask it.

Rong Kaihua didn’t know how to answer this question. He turned to his cousin and said a little awkwardly, “I had lost consciousness by then, so I don’t actually know.”

Rong Kaixuan scratched his head and replied, “First Uncle, I was very anxious. I don’t know how it happened either, but I cast every spell that I knew how to. In the end, they all died.”

Rong Cai and everyone else in the room stared at each other. What sort of answer was that?

Rong Yihe went into deep thought. He soon sternly asked, “Kaixuan, how many spells did you cast?”

Rong Kaixuan started counting off his fingers to make a rough estimate. “Maybe around 50 spells?”

Rong Yihe and the others gasped. They weren’t Spiritualists, but they weren’t strangers to what they could do. How could a mere Elementary Stage Spiritualist manage to cast so many spells?

But this boy couldn’t be lying. The battle’s aftermath could have only been caused by a huge attack of spells being cast consecutively.

Rong Yihe’s eyes brightly sparkled. “Kaixuan, why don’t you do that again for me to see?”

Rong Kaixuan nodded and raised his hand. He smiled awkwardly and said, “First Uncle, I can’t do it anymore.”

“What?”

“I don’t know what’s going on either.” Rong Kaixuan held his hands out. He looked all pitiful as he said, “At that time, I was very agitated. My body seemed to possess an energy that didn’t run out, so I was able to cast all the spells in an instant. Now, I can only cast a few.”

Rong Yihe nodded slowly and said, “I see. That’s what happened.” He sighed quietly and said, “Spiritualists are different after all. I’ve heard about something like this before too. When some Spiritualists fall into great danger, they can instantly move the Spirit Power of Heaven and Earth to unleash a power several times more than they usually can. It could be as much as 10 times as much power as they actually possess. I see, I see, so that’s what happened.”

Rong Kaixuan’s eyes lit up. “First Uncle, how do I grasp such a technique?”

Rong Yihe glanced at him and said, “That is a potential power hiding inside of you unless agitated, and it is essentially something that you only use out of desperation. It could end very disastrously. You must remember this well. If you’re not pushed to the point of desperation, you must not simply… My goodness, what am I talking about?” He shook his head and sighed. “Nobody can grasp this sort of method. You were able to do it because your emotions were overly worked up this time, but you might not be so lucky next time.”

Rong Kaixuan nodded slowly, but he didn’t think the same way in his heart.

To others, this might have been a method that depended on one’s hidden strength and whether his life was in danger. To him, the sudden burst of energy could become a technique he could unleash when he wanted to.

After the little round ball had shattered, Rong Kaixuan couldn’t sense those six Spirit Bodies anymore.

Also, after that sudden burst of energy, his body had not suffered any damage. Even something as severe as a broken bone had fully healed in just a few days.

From these observations, the thing that caused the sudden outburst and allowed his body to heal itself so quickly must have been those six Spirit Bodies.

As long as he made preparations beforehand, this sort of hidden explosive power could become his ultimate weapon against enemies.

Of course, it was good enough that he knew this himself. There was no need for others to know about it.

Rong Yihe tossed the round ball in his hand over to Rong Kaixuan and said, “Kaixuan, this is your reward for winning the battle. Keep it well.”

Rong Kaixuan was surprised and quickly said, “I don’t want it, Eldest Brother, you can have it.”

Rong Kaihua’s expression darkened. “Kaixuan, are you laughing at me for not having Spirit Power?”

“How could that be?” Rong Kaixuan had been misunderstood. “Eldest Brother, that’s not what I mean at all.”

Rong Kaihua pointed at the round ball and said, “You need Spirit Power to activate and use this Spirit Weapon. By giving it to me, do you mean you want me to use it as a secret weapon to beat others up?”

Rong Kaixuan froze for a moment before he understood and laughed. “Eldest Brother, I’ll take it. Thank you.” He put the round ball away and said, “I heard from Brother Ye that there’s a medicine that can purge the remaining poison in your face. I intend to go into the mountains to look for it after three months.”

Rong Cai sensed something and asked, “What are you going to do during these three months?”

Rong Kaixuan solemnly replied, “During these three months, I will work hard to cultivate and make sure that I’m well-prepared.”

Rong Kaihua shook his head and said, “That won’t do. What medicine is it? I’ll find it myself. The mountains are very dangerous, so you should not simply go there if you don’t have to.”

Rong Kaixuan cheekily laughed. “Eldest Brother, I won’t go sneaking off anymore. Before going into the mountains, I’ll tell all of you what I’ve prepared. If the family doesn’t agree to me leaving, I won’t go anywhere.”

Everyone looked at each other. They were now very curious.

They all knew that nobody in the family was going to agree to it, so what was this young man going to do to convince them?

When they saw how confident Rong Kaixuan seemed to be, their hearts started to suddenly wave. Could this boy still have a trump card that he hadn’t revealed yet?
