An unusually terrifying sound of acid eroding something suddenly rang in Rong Kaixuan’s ears. The scene of what had happened flashed through his mind.
Rong Kaixuan felt like he was going through that horrifying scene all over again. The way Rong Kaihua’s face had turned into that awfully tragic state was etched into his memory forever.
“Ah!”
Rong Kaixuan suddenly sat up in the bed. His entire body was drenched in a cold sweat.
“Young Master Kaixuan, you’re awake!”
A familiar voice sounded out from next to him. Rong Kaixuan was stunned for a moment before turning to where the voice came from. Rong Cai was looking at him with relief on his face.
Rong Kaixuan was still panting heavily. He finally calmed down after some time. His gaze suddenly focused as he asked, “Grandpa Cai, how is Eldest Brother?”
Rong Cai’s expression darkened a little. Rong Kaixuan’s heart immediately sank.
“Eldest Brother has…”
Rong Cai shook his head and replied, “Don’t let your imagination run wild. Young Master Kaihua is still alive. He regained consciousness three days ago.”
Rong Kaixuan was confused by this and asked, “Three days ago?”
“That’s right. You’ve been unconscious for five days now.”
Rong Kaixuan had no idea what to say. He looked at himself, particularly his right arm. The craziest thing was that he didn’t feel anything unusual about himself. There was no pain in his body.
He remembered very clearly that his right arm had been completely broken.
“Grandpa Cai, have I really been unconscious for so long?” he asked after a moment of silence.
Even though he had suffered some injuries, they weren’t really that serious. Compared to what Rong Kaihua had suffered, Rong Kaixuan’s injuries were all external. Thus, he was slightly surprised that he had remained unconscious for such a long time.
Rong Cai seemed to be able to see through Rong Kaixuan’s thoughts and quietly sighed. “We’ve checked your body. Your body’s current state is indeed a little odd. According to the wounds that you suffered, they look like you used too much of your strength because of the adrenaline rush you went through. At the same time, the True Qi and Spirit Power within your body is still in good shape and doesn’t seem to have weakened at all. Rong Kaixuan nodded and asked again, “Grandpa Cai, how is Eldest Brother now?”
Rong Cai hesitated for a moment before replying, “Your cousin’s wounds are under control. His life isn’t in danger anymore, but…”
Rong Kaixuan felt his heart instantly start pounding more quickly than before. He threw the blanket aside and said, “I want to go and see Eldest Brother.”
“Stop right there.” Rong Cai reached a hand out to block him. Rong Kaixuan couldn’t move anymore. “Your cousin is in a bad mood now and doesn’t want to see anyone. I know you want to see him badly, but I think it’s best that you leave him alone for the time being.”
Rong Kaixuan froze for a few moments. He remembered the terrifying image he had in his mind again.
His voice trembled as he said, “Grandpa Cai, is it because of Eldest Brother’s face…”
Rong Cai sighed deeply in resignation. “What a pity. He was such a handsome boy.”
Rong Kaixuan clenched his fists tightly again. He hated Lin Hui to the core. If that fellow was still alive, he was going to kill him with the cruelest method possible.
Rong Cai patted Rong Kaixuan on the shoulder and said, “You two brothers are really concerned for one another. The first thing that Young Master Kaihua did when he woke up was to ask about how you were.”
Rong Kaixuan’s entire body instantly stiffened. He only felt the tip of his nose become warm. It was as if something from his nose was flowing right into his heart. It made him enjoy a warmth deep inside. On top of that, the corners of his eyes started getting wet. There was a strong emotion that was hard to describe growing in the depths of his heart.
Suddenly, a familiar pair of footsteps were heard walking in.
Rong Yiyang’s expression was grim when he walked in. He was initially surprised when he saw that Rong Kaixuan had come to. After that, he flew into a rage and said, “You… You little animal…”
Rong Kaixuan was in shock and turned in surprise. “Father?”
Rong Yiyang hit the roof. “Don’t call me Father! You little unfilial thing! Never mind that you left home all by yourself, but you even caused such severe injuries to your oldest cousin! You… How is he going to see anyone for the rest of his life?!”
Rong Kaixuan’s face twitched several times. The pain in his heart welled up again.
After Rong Yiyang said that, he looked around the room and found a chair. He lifted the chair and was about to smash it down on Rong Kaixuan as he said, “I’m going to beat you to death, you little unfilial boy!”
Rong Kaixuan felt pain and sadness in his heart, so he didn’t intend to dodge his father’s attack.
Perhaps he might have even felt better after the chair came smashing down on his head.
But the chair never reached his head. Rong Cai reached a hand out and easily caught the chair. He let out a long sigh and said, “Young Master Yang, don’t be so agitated.”
Rong Yiyang stomped his feet and said, “Uncle Cai, don’t stop me from doing this. Kaihua is Eldest Brother’s eldest son, so how am I going to answer to Eldest Brother like this?”
Rong Kaixuan suddenly raised his head and said, “Grandpa Cai, I want to see Eldest Brother.”
He spoke with a firm voice. There was no room for negotiation.
Rong Cai and Rong Yiyang were frightened by the tone of voice that he had used. For some reason, Rong Kaixuan’s presence had actually gone one level above themselves.
Rong Cai looked back at Rong Kaixuan for a moment before finally sighing. “Alright, Young Master Kaixuan, come with me.” He turned and started walking out.
Rong Kaixuan stood up and followed after Rong Cai. Although he had been lying in bed for five whole days, since his True Qi and Spirit Power hadn’t suffered any damage, his arms and legs didn’t feel weak. He didn’t even feel hungry or thirsty.
But he wasn’t paying attention to any of those things. The only thing on his mind was his cousin’s injuries.
After walking out of the room, Rong Kaixuan realized that they were still within the courtyard where the fight happened. The courtyard had been cleaned up. There were no traces of that huge battle. There were also several people on guard walking about outside. It was completely different from how it was empty when Rong Kaixuan had first arrived with Rong Kaihua.
Rong Cai brought him to the last suite at the end and said, “Young Master Kaihua is inside here. You can go in.”
Rong Kaixuan quietly nodded. He took a deep breath and felt a strange nervousness that he couldn’t explain. He hadn’t been this nervous even when he was faced with Lin Hui.
After a few moments, he gently knocked on the door.
Nobody responded from inside, so he clenched his teeth and pushed the door open to go in.
He walked through the living room and went further in toward the bedroom.
When his hand just touched the door of the bedroom, he could hear Rong Kaihua’s impatient voice coming from inside. “Don’t come in!”
Rong Kaixuan’s hand froze as he replied, “Eldest Brother, it’s me.”
Rong Kaihua’s voice fell silent. After a moment of silence, he quietly sighed. “Kaixuan, I’m not feeling well and don’t want to see anybody, so you shouldn’t come in.”
Rong Kaixuan felt tears come to his eyes. He knew that his cousin wasn’t blaming him and didn’t feel disgusted with him. Rong Kaihua just didn’t want Rong Kaixuan to see his terrifying injuries.
“Eldest Brother, you were the one who saved my life, so do you mean that even I can’t come in and see you?”
Rong Kaihua laughed hollowly and replied, “What are you talking about? Since all of you call me ‘Eldest Brother,’ then I have the responsibility of taking care of my younger family members.” He paused for a while and said in a regretful voice, “Unfortunately, my ability is insufficient to take care of all of you.”
“Eldest Brother…” Rong Kaixuan blinked a few times. The tears in his eyes finally rolled down his face. “Eldest Brother, I know you don’t want to see anybody now, but I know there is a special pill that Spiritualists have that can help to restore one’s face. I promise you that I will get my hands on this pill.”
Rong Kaihua’s voice suddenly trembled slightly. “Is that so? Does such a pill exist?”
Rong Kaixuan nodded gravely and said, “When I was reading manuals in the Manuals Library of the Hall of Spiritualists, one of the manuals had a write-up on this pill. There are also records of such pills.” He paused for a moment before saying, “Even if you don’t believe me, you should believe the carefully collected manuals that the clan’s Hall of Spiritualists keeps in the library.”
The sound of Rong Kaihua’s heavy breathing could be heard from inside the bedroom. It was clear how excited he was when he heard those words.
After some time, he finally replied, “Kaixuan, I will have to trouble you for this.”
Rong Kaixuan laughed through his tears. “Eldest Brother, why are you being so formal with me? If not for you, I would have died long ago. Why thank me for getting a mere pill?” He wiped his tears away and said, “Wait for my good news. I’ll run to Donghua Treasure Hall right now.”
Inside the bedroom, Rong Kaihua’s dark and lifeless eyes started to light up with a will to live again. He gently touched the terrifying tumors on his face and murmured to himself, “Does such a pill really exist in this world? I don’t think Kaixuan would lie to me, right?”
Rong Kaixuan had no idea what his cousin was worried about. He swiftly walked out of the suite.
Rong Cai pulled him aside and said in a low voice, “Young Master Kaixuan, why did you make such a promise?”
Rong Kaixuan was surprised and asked, “Grandpa Cai, why can’t I make such a promise?”
Rong Cai sighed and said, “The pill you’re talking about is the famous Face Restoration Pill among the Spiritualists. It is a Level 3 pill that is not just able to heal any damage to the face, but it can also correct parts of the face to a certain extent. Even though it is a Level 3 pill, it’s difficult to refine this pill. Also, many people are after it. Never mind you, even if Master wanted one, he might not be eligible to buy one.”
Rong Kaixuan was shocked by this, but there was a determined gleam in his eye. “Grandpa Cai, it doesn’t matter what price I have to pay. I must get my hands on a Face Restoration Pill.”

He quickly sent his Divine Sense into his energy center to check. In the next moment, he realized that in between his eyebrows, there was a mysterious little round ball quietly floating in mid-air. It continuously took in and put out the Spirit Power that was between his brows. It looked like the sun shining in clouds and gave off an intense brightness.
