Invincible Evocation - Chapter 40

The grandfather and grandson looked at each other for a few moments before Rong Jielin asked, “Have you given up?”

“That’s right, I’ve given up,” Rong Kaixuan honestly replied. “After my abilities have gone up in level, I can always go back and read the manuals again.”

Actually, it was because he had finished reading all the spell manuals that were available for the five elements. Even if Rong Jielin didn’t speak to him about that, he didn’t intend to visit the library from the next day onward either.

Since the old man was talking about it now, he used that as his reason instead.

Rong Jielin nodded slowly and said, “Kaixuan, you are right in saying that. When we are only at the first stage of cultivation, it is the best time to build a good foundation. The better your foundation, the more you will be able to achieve in the future.” He paused for a moment before continuing with a warning in his voice. “I know that you want to prove yourself, but you must remember that a systematic approach to improving ourselves is the most important principle in the road of cultivation.”

Rong Kaixuan nodded repeatedly. He knew that his grandfather was telling him these things for his own good.

To an ordinary person, Rong Jielin’s words were sound advice. To Rong Kaixuan, these words lost the effect they were supposed to have.

Rong Kaixuan wasn’t really cultivating by himself. He now had six Special Spirit Bodies with him, so cultivating True Qi as a Martial Artist and cultivating the five elements of Spirit Power as a Spiritualist were not difficult for him at all.

Of course, besides himself, nobody else knew anything about that.

After speaking to his grandson, Rong Jielin left with a pleased look on his face.

Rong Kaixuan took a full day to rest. The next day, when he was feeling fresh and energetic, he took out the three talismans.

These were the materials from Elder Jiexuan. He had put the matter of sealing Spirit Body Fighters aside for the time being because he had been putting in all his effort into training his Special Spirit Bodies for the past month.

Now that he had done everything he could for those Special Spirit Bodies, he had time to handle these three talismans.

He released one-third of the mysterious energy in the little round ball, and a human-shaped Spirit Body instantly took shape next to him.

Rong Kaixuan took one of the talismans and filled it with a little of his mysterious energy. His mysterious energy and the talisman seemed to respond to one another. It gave off a bright glow and easily sealed that powerful Spirit Body Fighter into the talisman.

The moment the Spirit Body Fighter was absorbed and sealed by the talisman, the mysterious energy returned in its entirety to Rong Kaixuan from the talisman.

Rong Kaixuan smiled gleefully and immediately proceeded to evoke a second and a third Spirit Body Fighter. In just a few moments, he had completed sealing of three Spirit Body Fighters into these talismans.

After looking around a few times, Rong Kaixuan carefully put the talismans away. He left a note behind and left the Main House.

The next day, the servant in charge of cleaning Rong Kaixuan’s room discovered the note and immediately ran to pass it to Rong Jielin without delay.

After Rong Jielin and the rest of the family read it, they didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Rong Kaixuan’s note was fairly simple. He said he wanted to go out by himself for a while, perhaps for two to four weeks, and he would be back after that.

Rong Yiyang stomped his feet angrily after reading the note. “This unfilial child! How dare he leave home like this! He makes me so angry!”

Rong Yiying laughed loudly and said, “Yiyang, don’t be anxious. The young man is really bold and unafraid of anything! He’s just like how his father was at his age.”

Rong Yihe chuckled. “But he’s much more promising than his father was back then.”

Rong Yiyang shook his head with an embarrassed look on his face. “Eldest Brother, Second Brother, why are you speaking up for him?”

He knew that his brothers were joking with him in the hope of comforting him. But Rong Kaixuan was his son. When he thought about how the boy had never gone out of the house all by himself before, he couldn’t help but become anxious and worried.

“Tsk.” Rong Jielin scoffed quietly and put the note back onto the table slowly. “Yiyang, don’t be anxious.”

“Yes, Father.” Rong Yiyang still responded obediently after some hesitation.

If this had happened 20 years ago when Rong Yiyang was still bold and fearless, he would have dared to go against his father’s words. After all these years, his sharp horns were now blunt and rounded. He had chosen to return to his old home and didn’t dare go up against his imposing father anymore.

Rong Jielin looked at the three brothers and said, “It’s a little early for Kaixuan to go gallivanting on his own now. But he’s no ordinary boy, so he might not run into danger.”

Rong Yiyang’s face twitched a little as he said, “But Father, Kaixuan just turned 15.”

Rong Jielin waved his hand and said, “Kaixuan may be young, but he is trained as both a Spiritualist and a Martial Artist. He can evoke at least three Spirit Body Fighters and has the heart of a Martial Artist, so he can definitely find a way to get out of any dangerous situation. Oh, it’s not so easy to kill him now.”

Everyone was surprised by his words, but they recalled Rong Kaixuan’s performance on the Battle Platform.

That incredulous battle had left an extremely deep impression on everyone. Once they thought about the prowess he had displayed, even the most worried among them, Rong Yiyang, calmed down quite a bit.

Rong Cai’s eyes suddenly widened as he said, “Master, I suddenly remembered something. Young Master Kaixuan asked me before about where the largest Spiritualist shop in the county is. I didn’t think too much of it, so I just told him about Donghua Treasure Hall. Do you think he might have gone to Qiangan?”

Rong Jielin thought for a moment and slowly nodded his head. “That boy has probably run off to Qiangan.” He paused for a moment and said, “Since Kaixuan has left the house, you don’t have to make a big fuss about searching for him. Keep everything low profile.” After another pause, he said, “Cai, Yihe, take Kaihua to Qiangan right now.”

Rong Yihe’s gaze focused as he asked, “Father, are you worried about Rong Yitie and his family?”

Rong Jielin nodded his head and replied, “That’s right. Since Kaixuan killed Rong Kaixin, judging from the way Rong Yitie and his family behave, they definitely won’t take this lying down. If I’m not wrong, they have probably been watching Kaixuan all this while in secret. We can’t let them have the chance to attack.”

“Got it,” everyone replied in unison as their expressions changed slightly.

About 150 miles east of the Rong clan Main House stood a large and imposing city.

This was the most developed major city within the county—Qiangan.

Three days later, Rong Kaixuan had reached the outside of Qiangan all by himself. After paying the city entrance fee, he was able to successfully enter the city.

Even though this was his first time in Qiangan, Rong Kaixuan did not wander around aimlessly.

He put on his sweetest smile and started asking the people around him. After a while, he found out where the Donghua Treasure Hall was located.

He was surprised to find that this shop was fairly famous. Almost everyone he asked knew about it.

In reality, the shop that Rong Cai recommended, Donghua Treasure Hall, was really a reputable chamber of commerce. It was huge and powerful and filled with many high-level practitioners, so maintaining its credibility was the most important thing. Since Rong Kaixuan was in the largest city in the county, almost everybody knew about the place.

When Rong Kaixuan reached Donghua Treasure Hall, he was quite shocked.

He had come to a lively and noisy plaza. At the highest part of the plaza was a signboard with the words “Donghua Treasure Hall” embossed on it in gold.

He quickly realized that this shop took up a huge piece of land. It was little wonder that everyone knew where the place was.

There were more than ten shops within this plaza. While each shop took up quite a bit of space, every shop seemed to be extremely crowded. It was easy to tell that the owners of this place were different from others based on just the incredible crowd alone.

Rong Kaixuan didn’t walk into any shop. Instead, he walked by each one of them.

His gaze finally landed on a small shop that didn’t stand out among all the other shops.

After observing the place for some time, he noticed that most of the shops were one of two types.

One type was merchants selling items. Some focused on selling pills, while some focused on selling Spirit Weapons. There were also plenty of shops selling pretty accessories and other things that had no relation to cultivation whatsoever.

The other type were pawn shops. Anyone was able to come to these shops and pawn off anything valuable.

Of course, these pawn shops were also split into different types. Some targeted ordinary folk, and a number of them were specially meant for Martial Artists. There was only one that specialized in taking in items related to Spiritualists.

This particular shop was in a more secluded location, and there was almost nobody inside.

Spiritualists were highly valued anywhere they went.

Anything a Spiritualist created was extremely valuable.

Anyone who had their hands on such items was normally an influential or a high level-cultivator, so, naturally, they wouldn’t want to sell these things.

Thus, this shop had the least business.

Rong Kaixuan hesitated for a while, but he walked in anyway.

There were only three shop assistants in the shop. When Rong Kaixuan walked in, they looked up at him. Once they saw his face, they all looked dejected again.

Rong Kaixuan was too young. A boy of this age couldn’t possibly have anything of value.

They even suspected that this young fellow had lost his way.

Since a customer had walked in, they couldn’t throw him out either.

The shop assistant with the least experience stood up and forced a smile on his face. “Hello, young man, welcome to the shop.” He paused and asked, “How can I help you?”

Rong Kaixuan sensed the cold and distant feelings beneath the smiling face and was a little displeased in his heart. He went straight to the point, “This shop takes in Spiritualist talismans, right?”

The shop assistant was surprised by this statement. His gaze immediately became excited. He quickly replied, “That’s right, we take in any item related to a Spiritualist, so, of course, talismans are one of the items we take.” He paused and said, “Young man, don’t worry, you’re within Donghua Treasure Hall, so as long as your item is truly valuable, we promise that you won’t make any loss on it.”

He patted his chest as if he was the leader of the chamber of commerce and sounded fairly impressive.

Rong Kaixuan blinked a few times and took a talisman out from his coat. “What about this?”

The shop assistant took it from Rong Kaixuan and inspected it carefully. His expression suddenly changed. “Level 1 Supreme Level Spirit Body Fighter Sealing Talisman.”
