“Kaixuan, wake up.” He heard a familiar voice ringing in his ears, and someone seemed to be gently pushing his body.

Rong Kaixuan started to slowly regain consciousness. It felt like he was slowly coming to the surface after being underwater. At first, he was a little disoriented.

Rong Yiyang couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief when he saw his son come to. He quickly put on a stern face and asked, “Kaixuan, why did you fall asleep here?”

“I fell asleep?” Rong Kaixuan looked around in shock. He suddenly remembered what happened right before he fainted.

He definitely hadn’t fallen asleep. Someone had managed to easily knock him out.

“Ahh!” Rong Kaixuan’s eyes visibly widened as he let out a sorrowful and blood-curdling shout that seemed to shake the sky and land.

When his son suddenly shouted, Rong Yiyang stretched a hand out toward him. His hand froze in midair. He couldn’t help but shudder because his son looked pale and terrified.

“What’s… What’s wrong with you?”

Rong Kaixuan leaped up from the ground. He warily looked around. There was extreme fear in his eyes.

“Father, where’s that man? Did you see him?”

“What man?” Rong Yiyang asked in confusion.

“There was an old man, and he was covered with blood.” Rong Kaixuan flailed about as he tried to describe the old man. “The old man was very strange. He was covered with so much blood all over. It looked like someone had used a knife to slash him into half. Everything below his chest was… It was all gone.”

Rong Kaixuan had sounded anxious when he started speaking and had kept going faster and faster. When he got to the last sentence, he suddenly slowed down without realizing it. He didn’t sound very sure of himself anymore by then.

If that old man had nothing of his body left below the chest, could he still be considered alive?

Rong Kaixuan had never gone through something like this. Although he was still fairly young, he still had some basic common sense.

Rong Yiyang’s face violently twitched. He looked down at the ground for a while before he slowly asked, “Kaixuan, are you sure that old man was bleeding?”

Rong Kaixuan nodded profusely. He hadn’t been able to see the face of the old man clearly, but the strong smell of blood on the old man’s body, which seemed so real, had left a deep impression on him.

Rong Yiyang stuttered over his words for a while before he finally sighed deeply and said, “Kaixuan, I have let you down.”

“What?” Rong Kaixuan widened his eyes in shock. What did this matter have to do with his father?

“Son, you’re still so young, but I have been pressuring you to gather true Qi and given you too much stress,” Rong Yiyang guiltily said. “Now, you’re even beginning to see things.”

Rong Kaixuan opened his mouth. He wanted to tell his father that he had really met this strange man who was alive yet dead and had knocked him out earlier.

As he looked around on the ground, he saw that there wasn’t a single drop of blood around them. His father looked very worried. Upon seeing his father’s expression, he couldn’t get any of those words out.

“Kaixuan, come home with me and have a good rest,” Rong Yiyang said as he roughly patted his son’s shoulders. “From today onward, you don’t have to practice boxing anymore. Our family will just remain here and be an ordinary family.”

“But Father, you’ve always wanted…”

Rong Yiyang raised a hand and stopped his son from continuing. He sighed and said, “I’ve straightened out my thoughts already. Becoming a master of boxing or becoming some martial arts practitioner or martial arts grandmaster isn’t as important as us happily living together as a family.” There was a comforting smile on his face as he added, “It’s quite a pity that I’ve only realized this now.”

Rong Kaixuan’s lips slightly trembled. He only felt an indescribable sort of warmth rush through his chest. It felt like it was on the verge of overflowing but refused to come out. For some reason, he felt extremely upset when he saw his father’s expression. He even felt the urge to cry.

Ever since he had started training in boxing, Rong Yiyang had taught him countless times that men only bled and never cried. He took a deep breath and forced himself to keep his emotions aside.

Rong Yiyang smiled faintly as he took his son’s hand. The two of them started walking back toward the house.

The manor was one of the properties that belonged to the Rong family. To the huge and powerful Rong family, this place was just a tiny area that was very rural and didn’t hold many prospects. Many of the direct descendants who failed to gather true Qi were sent to either run one of their many businesses or to live on one of these estates.

Besides the extreme few who managed to make the best of their situation and become successful, most of them ended up just living a mundane life wherever they were. They broke away from the main family line of practitioners and just lived and died quietly.

Rong Yiyang had always kept a bit of indignation in his heart before this. After his son gave him such a scare, he finally put aside the grudge in his heart.

That night, the family of three sat down together and enjoyed the night.

Rong Kaixuan’s mother was surprised that her husband hadn’t pushed their son to study or practice at night, but she could sense that the two of them seemed to have become much closer than before.

For a homemaker whose entire life revolved around her husband and son, nothing made her happier than seeing this closeness between them.

Heartwarming times always passed by quickly.

It started getting late. Even though Rong Kaixuan couldn’t bear to, he still took his leave and returned to his own room.

Although his family could not remain in the Main House, Rong Yiyang was still a direct descendant. That meant he held a high position within the estate.

Thus, Rong Kaixuan also had his own room.

After lying down on the bed, Rong Kaixuan kept tossing and turning. He was unable to fall asleep.

The moment he shut his eyes, that terrifying scene immediately appeared in his mind.

By now, he had begun to believe his father’s conjecture. This whole thing had never happened. It was just an illusion that he had because the stress he felt had caused him to suffer a nervous breakdown.

A human would have died from incredible pain after losing the lower half of their body, so there was no way he could have seen a person like that.

He shook his head and let out a deep and long sigh. He whacked himself on the head a few times. It was as if he was trying to use this method to help get that horrifying scene out of his head.

He soon realized that besides making his head hurt, whacking himself on the head did nothing for him at all.

Just when he was feeling completely helpless, his eyelid suddenly twitched a few times.

It happened because he suddenly discovered that there was now a mysterious blob inside his mind that he simply couldn’t identify.

This was a feeling that was difficult to describe in words, but it was very real.

There was a strange new Qi flow that was stuck between his brows. This Qi flow made his brain feel like it was swollen.

He used a hand to rub between his brows like he was checking if this Qi flow existed or not.

Unfortunately, it was not a physical object but a feeling in his mind. Unless he was able to take his head apart, he wouldn’t find anything there. In fact, he suspected that even if someone chopped his head into two with an ax, he might not find anything strange inside.

He blinked a few times and started feeling worried for some reason.

This sudden change would have frightened an adult half to death, but Rong Kaixuan was a young man who wasn’t even 15 yet. It would have been even more unbelievable if he accepted this sort of change without feeling worried.

“Come out, come out now,” Rong Kaixuan shut his eyes and started chanting. “It’s no fun being inside me. The outside world is very exciting, so come out now.”

His subconscious instinctively tried to use that method. He was trying to somehow draw that blob of Qi flow hiding within his brain out.

He never imagined that this instinctive method was of any real use.

The Qi bubble inside his brain slowly started to move. It didn’t move much, but since Rong Kaixuan was so fixated on it, he was ecstatic that it moved.

He didn’t expect himself to be able to control this Qi flow.

“Come out. Come out now. Hurry up and come out.”

He continued to chant on and on. His fists were clenched together tightly. His nails even dug into the palms of his hands because he was clenching his fists so tightly. He didn’t notice any of that because all of his energies were focused on one place.

Perhaps it was because he was using everything within him to draw that Qi bubble out, but it finally started moving.

It started spinning within that spot between Rong Kaixuan’s eyebrows and gaining momentum. It slowly started coming out of that spot.

Even though Rong Kaixuan couldn’t wait for this creepy Qi bubble to get out of his body as soon as possible, the fact that the Qi bubble was escaping through the spot between his brows was so terrifying that he felt like his soul was leaving him.

Could he still live if there was a hole between his brows?

The one thing that made him feel relieved was that even though the Qi bubble was coming out of this head, he didn’t feel any discomfort.

It was as if an exit already existed somewhere between his brows, so this Qi bubble could easily flow out through this exit.

After some time, the Qi flow that was inside his brain finally left his head. Rong Kaixuan suddenly felt very weak. It was as if his spirit was drained of all energy after losing this Qi flow.

He staggered a few steps backward and slowly sat down. He quietly breathed in and out and adjusted his body’s condition.

After a long while, he finally felt better.

He suddenly opened his eyes. They were fixed on the area right in front of him. He couldn’t tear his eyes away.

There was a person in front of him.

Rather, this wasn’t really a person. It was just a creepy looking thing that had the shape of a human.

The figure had blurred features but all four limbs. Its skin was snow white as if it had never seen the sun all its life.

Rong Kaixuan gulped a mouthful of saliva down but didn’t start screaming and shouting uncontrollably.

It wasn’t because he was extremely bold or anything like that. It was just that for some reason, he felt a strange sort of closeness to this creepy thing in front of him.

It was a very pure sort of feeling. He had absolute trust in this creepy thing. It was as if this thing was part of him. It felt like they were one body that had been split into two.

Rong Kaixuan had never wanted to kill himself. That thought had never crossed his mind.

He now felt that he was safe. In fact, he felt safer than he had in his entire life.

He slowly raised his head and looked carefully at the human-shaped thing in front of him. After a few moments, he raised a hand and tried to poke at the strange figure.

The texture of this white, eerie figure was not at all what he expected. It felt like he was pressing on his own soft, human skin.

Rong Kaixuan’s expression suddenly changed. He looked in shock at his arm, his face filled with disbelief.
