I’ll Just Live On As A Villainess - Chapter 5

I slowly folded my arms and raised my chin, thinking of the bullies in movies or dramas.

To look arrogant and rogue as much as possible.

That was my intention.

Fortunately or unfortunately, my intentions worked perfectly. The faces of the two people, who looked at me suspiciously, have become a bit stiff.

‘I’m right about what I have thought.’

I put a force on it.

“Why? Are you complaining? I said I would do that.”

When I spoke with my voice a tone higher than usual, I heard a terrifying sound.

‘Wow, I didn’t try very hard, but this is a hateful voice. It’s really like a villain.’

I embraced Harry in admiration of Yvesria’s villainous gene.

[…The blood from our line…Such!]

I captured Harry’s neck to my embrace tightly who was explaining his own genealogy.

“I told you I’d raise him!Are you saying no?”

This time, the voice went beyond hatred to be peremptory.

“……if you say so, I get it.”

Eventually the baron succumbed to my wickedness.1

“First, we’ll look for the owner and if he doesn’t show up, the miss will raise him. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it. He’d rather stay here than freeze to death in cold weather.”

The Baron Insetia was lost in thought as he looked at the burning fireplace.

The fire burning black iron.

It was a fire from Yvesria’s fireplace.

“How can a black iron wood be burned?”

Yvesria said it was a fire that she prayed desperately and accidentally made, but was it a joke?

If that were possible, no one in Erell would have been cold.

He had once brought a famous wizard from the royal capital because the power of that wizard was great.

But he too failed to burn the black iron wood.

‘It’s not a fire created accidentally. This is the power of princess Yvesria. ‘

He was not a baron that will be deceived by the lies of the young princess.

How many years have he lived a hard time in pioneering northern lands?

The bone of Baron Insetia was too thick to be deceived by a child who grew up in the royal capital.2

‘But the princess’ magic power is known to be extremely low. Why is her mana said to be low, has the power to create such a strong fire?’

The baron recalled the face of the Duke of Oberon, the father of Yvesria and his superior.

There must be a reason for concealing the powerful mana of the Duke’s daughter, who is a thorough strategist.

‘Maybe to avoid external checks. A person with a strong power is inevitably subject to vigilance. ‘

The House of Oberon was proud of its traditional power of being equal to the royal family.

What if there was a child born with great power?

Then Yvesria would not have been as free as she is now.1

‘But the mana I felt was too normal compared to a tremendous power. ‘

But the baron soon shook his head.

When a person reached the original high point, an average man could not recognize it.

‘Does it mean the princess has reached that state?’

His arm was getting goosebumps.

‘It looks like the Duke is painting a big picture.’

Then Baron Insetia who follows him, had no choice but to comply with his will.

So even though he was full of questions, he did not question Yvesria deeply.

‘I must keep my mouth shut until the Duke mentions it first.’10

However, thinking so forced him to think of the long-held legend that descended on Erell.

A legend that only comes down to the north.

It is not comparable to the founding myth of the kingdom, but the people here possess their own legends.

Although it is now governed by a kingdom, the North was originally a separate country.

Race, culture. A country completely different from the central nobility of the royal capital.

The North was free to live their lives until it was destroyed by the powerful fire of the Blue Wizard in the myth of the kingdom.4

The Oberon family originated here and in the north. As the roots were different, the royal family’s checking towards them was severe than the other families.

‘At this point, a new fire is set to expel trials from the northernmost city of Erell. That’s the hero’s first step to save this land. ‘

Maybe Yvesria’s magic are the flame of the legend?

Did the Duke know all this and sent his daughter here?

To test the freedom of this land, the legend that all the people of the North have?

‘I will be silent. Until everything cames to light.’

The eyes of Baron Insetia were deeply sunken.

“First of all, I needed to keep my mouth shut.”2

He had to do something to prevent the fire that Yvesria created from leaking out.

* * *

The butler spent the whole day wandering around the mansion, but of course no one was supposed to have lost a dog.

Apparently the dog without its owner, Harry, returned to my room late at night, led by the butler’s hand.

Before I knew it, he had a leash on his neck.

“A leash?”

“The butler put in on, Big dogs are dangerous? A leash? This is the greatest humiliation of Theoharis’ life.”

Harry lying on the floor reached out his feet to scratched his leash, but it didn’t budge because it was tight,

“Would that work out?”

I grinned and leaned down to stroked Harry’s head.

Then Harry’s feet which had been struggling hard, hardened in the air.

“Why are you stroking my head at this timing?”

He asked incomprehensibly.

“You said stroking my head was a consolation.”

He must have remembered what I said the first time I pat him on the head.

“One action implies many things. This is a compliment.”

I shrugged and kept moving my hand.

“Thank you for putting up with your humiliation, Harry.”

Harry snorted at me.

“Giving me bottles and pills? I wouldn’t have been humiliated if you hadn’t told me to turn into your dog!”

“I know, I know. I’m so proud of you. Oh, good boy. You did a great job.”

I gave Harry a mechanical compliment and released his leash.

Harry rose up with a refreshed face when his leash was lifted.

“I think I’m going to live now.”

“I’ll tell someone not to put the leash on. Instead, you shouldn’t look fierce in front of people. Then there’s no justification for not tying the leash. “

“Yesterday you told me to be a dog, and today you wanted me to be a gentle lamb.”

Harry jumped onto the bed grumbling.

I was bewildered this time when I saw him straggling in my place.

“Harry, that’s my bed.”

“I know. But I’m your pet.”

“So?”

“Do you ask because you do not know that? Pet dogs have the right to share their master’s bed.”

As Harry said, sleeping in bed with a pet was common.

“But what’s inside is a black hearted demon.”

“I can’t hurt a contractor either way. What are you worried about?”

“That’s true, but ……”

I couldn’t help but suspect myself because the other person was a demon.

Aren’t demons good at seducing people with plausible words?

“I’m not doing anything, nothing at all. I don’t even think of doing anything to a young kid like you.”

Harry slowly wagged his tail as though it was bothersome.

“So, how old are you now?”

“After my birthday this year, I will be eighteen. Then I become an adult.”

Originally, I was older than that, but on Yvesria’s standards she was still seventeen.

Harry snorted, as if he knew it.

“Eighteen. You’re a crumb.”

[tn: Harry refers her to a crumb because her age was far smaller than his. Yeah just like a crumb of a bread. That was how small her age was compared to his.oh hey, but this was only my interpretation.]

Are you bragging your age because you don’t have anything to brag about?

I folded my arms in awe.

“Crumbs? How old is Harry to the point of bragging about it?”

“Me? 2176, why?!10

“2176?”

I was stunned by the number I had never imagined.

Well, Theoharis was a demon that existed since the founding myth.

‘Of course he’s old.’

I didn’t even think about it because I could only see him in his early 20s appearance.

“Harry… …are you a grandpa?”7

“Grandpa! What are you talking about to a young man who has a bright future?”

Harry raised his ears as if he had heard insulting remarks.

‘By demonic standards, 2176 is a young man? Is that how is it?’

Surprised at the large number, I looked at Harry as he leaned gracefully on the bed in a triumphant manner.

“What are you doing? Aren’t you going to sleep? It’s already late at night. If you don’t like the bed, you can sleep on that couch.”

He spoke as if he were the owner of the bed.

“This is my bed, why am I sleeping on the couch after this?”

I lay down on the bed with my mouth curled.

Because it was such a big bed, Harry’s presence on the other side was not felt at all.

Instead, the warm blankets and warm air melted in a pleasant manner.

This was all thanks to the fireplace that was blazing.

‘How tired I was all day long, shivering in the cold.’

But that was the end of it now.

I fell asleep in an instant, shedding tears of joy in my heart.

‘End of misery, beginning of happiness! Hooray!’

* * *

“What, are you asleep?”

Harry lay obliquely on the bed and squinted his eyes.

Before he knew it, his figure returned to the human body, not a white dog.

“Is it because it’s crumbs? You’re still naive.”

You fell asleep in bed with the demon, believing he wouldn’t do anything.

‘I thought you had a cautious personality.’

Harry reached out and fiddled Yvesria’s hair.

It was a common reddish brown compared to his silver hair, but he quite liked it because it resembled his flame, the source of his strength.

‘I touch it like this, but you doesn’t wake up.’4

He even nudged his finger into her cheek, but Yvesria looked irritated and turned back, unwilling to wake up.

‘I appreciate for taking my word for it, but…’

However, if you are not so wary, my pride will be hurt.

‘I think my face is pretty good, don’t you think? All women liked it.’5

The demons were kind of people who bought people’s favors and used them.

The easiest weapon to ingratiate people was their beautiful appearance.

The demon evolved into a beautiful appearance along in this period. Harry was a particularly superior shaft among such demons.14

But it didn’t seem to work much for the new contractor.

‘You think I’m a real dog because I turned into a dog?’

It seemed to him that she was sleeping comfortably in the world.

‘It’s been a long time since I came out of the human world and I’m being treated like a dog.’

If the wizards find out and even saw the dog collar, they will laugh at least 100 years.

‘So I really need to get a reward for the dog education.’

The question was how to entice this contractor.

‘What is my contractor’s desire? You look fine, you have a high profile, you look rich. Is there anything you want?’

But Harry wasn’t too worried.

All human beings have desires deep inside, so they just need to touch them.

They say they don’t like war, they don’t want to kill people, but if you whisphered next to them they’ll soon fall for it.

‘Beause it’s human.’

Harry smiled satisfactorily and kissed Yvesria’s hair lightly.20

‘I’ll find your desire soon, so look forward to it.’12

And the demon gets the pleasure.

The moment Harry thinks so, he smiles. There was a strange sound outside of the drawing room.

The sound of someone being cautious and stealthy.

It was pretty clumsy, but in its own way it seemed to have killed as much as it could.

‘Is it an assassin?’

When he met his first contractor, he had many similar situations. Most of the guests who came secretly were assassins.

Harry looked at Yvesria, who had no knowledge of the world.

‘If I leave her alone, she’ll die, right? Then the contract will end naturally.’

It was best for him to leave it like this, but he didn’t feel like it.

‘This, Theoharis’ contractor was killed by a poor assassin. That won’t do.’

Anyone who called me by my name was worth dying for more nicer than this.

‘ So now I’m going to be a loyal dog.’1

* * *

[Contractor! Wake up!]

Harry’s urgent voice, ringing in my head, woke me up in my sleep.

‘Wake up? Is it morning already?’

I barely lifted my heavy eyelids to see the surroundings.

But the room was still in the dark.

‘What, it’s still night.’

I annoyingly shoved Harry away from my side.

But it was not enough to push out the heavy, huge dog.

[Get up! Someone’s in the drawing room!]

[What’s the point of coming tonight?]

[So that’s why it’s weird! Isn’t that’s like an assassin? Get up now!]

[How am I supposed to find an assassin?]

I reached out my hand and patted Harry’s body like soothing a sleeping child.

[It must be a mistake. So let’s sleep more, Harry.]

[I can’t be mistaken for that, can I? I’m Theoharis the Blue Wizard!]

[Yes, I know you’re a great wizard, so sleep more. ]

[Oh, really!]

Harry went under the bed as if he had given up trying to persuade me.

Then came the light footsteps of a dog heading towards the drawing room.

‘He finally gave up.’

I fell back into a deep sleep with the joy of winning the battle against Harry.

No, I was going to.

“Kaak!”

If it wasn’t for the short scream from the drawing room.

Txx:

An another note. I think the baron called Yvesria ‘princess’ because she was the Duke’s daughter.
