I’ll Just Live On As A Villainess - Chapter 3

“No, you’re a demon, aren’t you? Demons are very selfish. Life contracts… …why would you do such a loss without a price for anything?”

At my natural question, the demon hit his chest with his fist as if he was going to burst in anger.

“That’s why I usually get paid! Or I sign a contract with a guy who does something very interesting. You know, someone who kills human or start wars.”

But I wasn’t either.

I called the demon’s real name so he can’t take the price from me.

But I wasn’t planning anything very interesting to think of as just an interesting pastime.

“Oh, well, can’t it be my wish for you to go home?”

“No, there’s only one way I can get back to the other world. It was you die.”

‘If you think about it normally, he’ll have to wait until my days are numbered, but…’

The opponent was a demon.

He can kill a normal human without any guilt.

Couldn’t he kill me here and go back to his world?

While I was thinking so, the demon came to me with an expressionless face.

When he comes close, he wraps his hand around my neck. Despite the warm air, his hands were very cool.

The hand holding my neck was soft and firm, and he could easily wring my neck if he wanted to.

But strangely, I didn’t feel fear.

The demon grinned as I looked up calmly.

“You feel it instinctively, don’t you? I can’t kill you.”

The demon lifted his hands from my neck.

“From the moment you and I are signed into a contract, I can’t harm your life. Rest assured on that part.”

“But I think you can still get me killed indirectly. There’s a hit and run murder or something.”3

“You can tell me your wish not to.”

The demon who talked in a sulky manner,  paused as if he had realized something.

“No, but are you telling me how to kill you?”5

“But… you just told me. The way you can’t kill me.”

The demon, who rolled his eyes from side to side at my words, grabbed his head when he realized he had made a mistake.

“Oh, shit! I shouldn’t have said that.”3

“It’s late.”

I smiled and made a quick wish.

“You can’t kill me. Directly or indirectly I don’t want to die.”2

It was the second life that I acquired, despite it was from a book.

‘And I were born as a rich aristocrat, I should not die after living a life that I could not do in my first life.’

The problem was the sudden rise of this demon.

“I’m screwed…… I don’t get paid…… I can’t kill people…… why did a boring person call me? I’m totally screwed.”6

I rested my chin on my palms and looked at the demon, who kept saying he was doomed.

He has a bewitching handsome appearance9

The crown prince who was the most handsome out of all the fishes of Catherine had no match for his looks.7

‘An uncommon silver hair and red eyes. Yvesria has a common reddish-brown hair with green eyes.’11

It was an unrealistic look that would not exist in this world.

‘His clear and reproving face looks beautiful like a picture, so I said everything.’

I sighed for a long time at the sight of the very handsome demon.2

“Okay, so I’ll take care of you? I’m the one who called you out anyway, so I’ll take responsibility.”

“Responsibility…”

The demon looked at me with his hands on his head.

“How are you going to take responsibility?”4

His eyes were filled with discontent and doubt.

“Won’t I just feed you and put you to sleep?”

Yvesria is the daughter of a duke anyway, so she has plenty of money.

I don’t know exactly, but there will be quite a lot of property to inherit from the duke.

‘So it wouldn’t be hard to keep a man alive. ‘

But I soon realized the fact that the presence in front of me was not an ordinary human being.

Maybe they need a food that is different from humans.

‘Does they consume  blood like a vampire?’

Maybe that’s why he asked about blood earlier.

I quickly asked the demon out of fear.

“The demon eat like humans, right? It’s annoying to ask for something weird. Blood, heart, something like that.”

The demon frowned as if my question was absurd.

“How do you see the demon? We’re also civilized men who eat bread and meat!”

“Then, there’s no problem.”

“No problem? Eating and sleeping everything in life? What about the fun of my life! The demon is a clan that lives for pleasure!”6

The demon shouted angrily.

I was dumbfounded and laughed in vain.

This demon doesn’t seem to know if his head were full of flowers or knew what a boring life is really was.

“This demon is full of himself. Do you really know what makes life boring?”

“Hm. How can you know then?”

“You said you were supposed to grant all my wishes. Why don’t I ask you not to eat, not to sleep, but only to stand in front of the wall every day? Life must be boring, right?”

I am fed up with the face of the confident demon.

‘That’s the face when I tell you to light the fireplace.’

I realized that I had won by looking at his dead face.

“So if I feed you and put you to sleep, then I’ll take full responsibility. Find your entertainment on your own.”

The demon curled his mouth and nodded.4

He seemed to be dissatisfied but was convinced anyway.

Now that I’ve roughly sorted things out with this side, the question was how to introduce this demon to others.

His appearance was so noticeable that it seemed difficult to gloss over it.

‘I think I’ll have to use what he can do.’

Then, the demon tapped my arms in agony.

“Hey. Human.”

“Yes.”

“But, you really don’t want to start a war…”8

“No.”

“……yes.”

The demon’s shoulders drooped in my firm answer.1

‘He definitely don’t have ears.’

I felt like I was looking at a big dog with droopy ears because he was disappointed, so I reached out my hand unknowingly.

When I lightly stroke his silver hair, the demon raised his head, which was drooping heavily.2

He looked at my hands that touched his head and my face alternately, with no idea what I was doing.

“What’s with this hand?”

“Uh…… Up?”

“It’s like treating a normal dog…”

Perhaps because he was the demon, he was able to read people’s minds.

I dodged his gaze and quickly change my words.

“But what should I call you? I can’t call your real name, right?”

I meant to change the subject, but I thought it was an important issue when I think about it.

‘I can’t keep calling you a demon like now.’

I didn’t want to add to the already widespread notoriety and fame of calling out the demons.

“Do you have a name you want? If you have one, I’ll call you that.”

“I don’t care what you call me if it’s fake anyway. Call me whatever you want”

“Well. So you mean you don’t mind me calling you an idiot, Mr. Idiot?”3

“Hey! That’s not it!”1

The demon pushed my hand and shouted.

“How smart I am! What, idiot!”

“So tell me what to call you. Or I’ll call you Mr. Idiot.”

“I’m so pissed. Seriously, how did I get called out by this …”

The demon grumbled and shook his head.

‘Is it time to regret again?’

The demon that handles the fire must have a lot of heat in his body.

I turned my eyes to the fireplace.

His grumbling subsided as I waited until the heat dissipate.

Soon silence came, and so the voice of the demon arrived.

“Harry.”20

“Harry?”

“If anyone calls me, it’s usually that name. Real names can’t be called between family members.”

“Oh, I supposed so. Your real name is for the contract. Did your former contractors call you Harry?”

“You’re my second contractor. The first one was a fool who wanted to be king, and I didn’t care how he called me. He just wanted my strength.”

“That means I’m the first person to call you Harry?”

“That…”

The demon, or Harry’s face, who stared at me blankly, began to turn red.

He hurriedly covered his face with his hands when he felt his face burning.32

“Hey, don’t give me a weird meaning!”

“When did I give a meaning to it?”

“You did ! You just did!”

“I’m just telling the truth.”

“Hey, human, why are you so fine after saying such ticklish words?”2

“Was that words ticklish?”1

“Then isn’t it ticklish during the day? Wow, you’re scarier than I thought.”2

I released a sigh in front of Harry, who was starting to grumble again.

‘I just wanted to light the fireplace. ‘2

I think I’ve called out a demon, which is slightly running out of hand….

***

“Why am I supposed to be like this way?”

Harry grumbled dissatisfiedly.

“That’s …”

Instead of answering, I bent my knees and aligned my eye contact with the dog.

A large dog with fluffy white fur.6

When it comes to breed, he looked closer to Samoyed.4

‘I can’t believe there’s Harry in this gentle, cute face. ‘

To be exact, Harry wasn’t in here.

Harry transformed, so this dog was Harry in itself.

“Demon and dog. That doesn’t  really fit together.”

“Why?”

“Dogs are a gentle, loyal image.”

Harry looked at me as if he couldn’t understand what I said.

“People seem to think we’re too cunning. Our demons are quite loyal. We keep the contract until one of the side dies.”

“It’s not loyalty, it’s fidelity. Loyalty comes from the heart.”

“Anyhow, human beings. All we had to do was lend our abilities, and the heart…. Tired.”

Harry shook his head in a weary voice, his tongue sticking out of his mouth.

It was something only the old people who lived long enough to live would say.

“Harry, do you know how funny it is to say that in a form of the dog?”

“Didn’t you wanted me to be like this? I did it because you asked me if I could transform into anything.”

The demons all have soul numbers that are linked to their own souls, which can be transformed into that form if necessary.

In Harry’s case, it was a dog.

“I can’t help it. I’m a famous noblewoman, if I bring in a man they’ve never heard of, they’ll find it strange. My goal is to stay as quiet as possible as I can when I’m stuck on Erell.”

The young lady, the Duke’s daughter whose engagement with the Crown Prince was broken and was kicked out of the country, brought a man in as soon as she arrived at her mansion?

It was a perfect situation for a dirty rumor.

‘The Duke told me not to get into trouble and stay quiet. But if I make a fuss with a man here…’

Perhaps the duke’s anger will begreat.

This time, maybe I will not be thrown out in the countryside. I might even get thrown out of the house.

“That’s the end of my dream of being a daughter of a rich family.”

“So that’s what it is. When I see someone else’s eyes, I get tired in many ways.”

It was fortunate that Harry’s soul number was an ordinary dog.

‘Shouldn’t I just say I found a stray dog while taking a walk? I’m just gonna say I’ll raise him because he looks like he doesn’t have an owner. ‘

It is common for aristocrats to raise dogs or cats, so it won’t seem strange.

It was a bit disappointing that he was not a small dog raised by many aristocratic children, but he was a pass in terms of being a dog.

‘If he turned into a snake or a bat or something. How suspicious would it be to keep him around?’1

Yvesria’s notoriety as a vicious woman and the misconception that she was a witch could exist.

“No. I call the demon and he will be my servant, so this is a witch, right? I’m not a villain, so I’m a witch.”

After playing a villain, I even earned the title of a witch.

‘Isn’t there some kind of witch hunt in this age? They got tortured and killed when caught. They burn them at the stake.’

The mere thought of it was terrible.

‘I can’t get caught in this. Can life be this twisted?’

A sigh came out of utter confusion, but I could not pick up the water that was already spilled.

“Anyways, pretend to be as normal in front of people as possible. You shouldn’t talk like you do now.”

“You think I’m stupid? I know that much. I’ll show you the perfect dog act. Don’t worry.”

Harry with a confident face followed with, ‘Kiing!’

“Oh?”

Unexpectedly it suprisingly resembles a real dog cry.

I clapped my hands in admiration and Harry raised his chin proudly.4

“But how are you going to explain the fire I made to the humans? That wood, didn’t you call me because it didn’t burn on a normal fire?”

Harry walked naturally and sat down in front of the fireplace.

The black iron wood in the fireplace was burning beautifully.

It was a fortunate fire that relieved the cold.

“For now I will tell them that I’m a wizard, and that the magic I made was a very strong fire.”

Wizards used mana to control magic.

But unlike the blue fire myth, wizards does not  have a strong power, but compared to the average person it showed an amazing ability.

They also had the ability to make fire or make water.

Producing magic is a very rare ability,  so they was in the hands of the kingdom.

Yvesria was one of them.

But no one in the kingdom would ever call her a wizard.

“You’re a wizard?”10

Harry looks at me with narrow eyes.
