I’ll Just Live As A Villain - Chapter 27

“It’s a bag with light magic. It’s used by the knights when they went on a mission.”

I had no use for these bags during my time as a noble, so I did not even know that there was such a convenient thing.

As I looked at the bag curiously, Harry rushed me.

“Let’s go quickly, we’re going to move now.”

“Okay.”

I responded reflexively, and soon afterwards I realized that Harry was speaking in the shape of a dog.

[What are you doing!]

Although I was surprised, Harry was easygoing.

“What’s wrong? She knows everything anyway.”

‘Yeah.’

Emma had already noticed that Harry was a talking animal the day I went to help the guest house.

She haven’t said anything about Harry since I told her to forget what she saw that day.

“But don’t talk to me when you look like that. It’s a bad habit, you can make mistakes.”

‘I gave Harry a strict advice. I looked at Emma for consent.’

“Isn’t that right, Emma?”

But Emma said nothing. She was just looking at Harry with a face as if her soul was gone.

Something was wrong.

“Emma?”

When I called Emma carefully, Emma sank down into place.

“The Dog-dog-dog-dog talk!”

Emma’s hand was shaking as she pointed to Harry. It was a reaction from a person who first knew Harry was a talking dog.

‘Don’t tell me…’

I asked Emma in dismay.

“You didn’t hear everything that day?”

“That day? Heard?”

Emma alternately looked between me and Harry with a confused look.

“The day you came to the drawing room to take the fire. Didn’t you hear what Harry said?”

“Well, I was caught trying to steal the fire so I was so surprised… …that I didn’t hear anything. “

I can’t believe it.

So what was the trouble I went through for on that day?

“You agreed when I told you to forget everything you saw and heard that day. Didn’t you heard it?”

“I didn’t know what it was about, but I just agreed because you told me to forget it. I was afraid you’ll cut my finger… if I say I didn’t hear you or say no.”

Emma bowed her head and apologized.

“I’m sorry, young lady.”

I was very despondent at the sight.

But the problem was getting out of this crisis right now, rather than feeling despondent about the past.

‘How should I explain about Harry?’

I can’t believe she’s carrying around a talking animal.

She’s a witch.

“Well, young lady.”

Then Emma called me as she hold her head, trying to figure it out.

“Is that a fairy?”

“……huh? Fairy?”

“Yes! The fairy helping young lady! When I was young, I saw a lot of them in fairy tales.”

“Fairy…”

It was much better to mistake Harry for a fairy than to know he was a demon.3

“Uh, um, maybe?”

I laughed to roughly gloss over it and Emma said she knew it.

“As I thought, he wasn’t an ordinary dog when you brought him here suddenly! Beautiful white fur, brave eyes! It must be a fairy!”1

Harry stood up to Emma’s praise, who’s lying down just a moment ago.

Just by fixing his posture made him look like the brave dog Emma spoke of.

“Please protect our young lady, brave fairy.”

“Don’t worry, human. I’m brave and I won’t let my master get hurt.”3

“I only believe in the fairy!”

The two, no, a person and a dog, exchanged words of virtue to each other as both of their eyes’ shone.

‘That’s a close call.’

It’s a good thing, isn’t it?

Let’s think of it as a good thing.

I look at a dog and a person with cloudy eyes and carried the bag.

***

Harry and I flew on the Wyverns all the way to the fog mountain in the northwest.

It would have taken me three months to get here in a carriage.

As soon as I reached the top, I searched my bag and delivered a piece of jerky to the Wyverns.

“Please wait here until I come back. Are you going to be okay?”

The Wyverns ate their jerky cheerfully, and then settled under a big tree.2

I stroked the Wyvern’s head for the last time and approached Harry, who was searching around first.

“Which way do you think we should go?”

“Dwarfs tend to live around the lode because of the supply and demand of materials. It will be nice to start looking around there first.”

“Then where’s the lode?”

“The lode often contain the energy of fire, so I think we can look for it.”

Harry’s eyes that was looking around slowly was redder than usual. It seemed he was searching for the energy of fire.

“I think we should go that way.”

Harry, who has been searching around for a long time, have decided to take a direction.

Feeling nothing, I had no choice but to follow that opinion.

Even after taking a direction, Harry stopped walking once more and searched the area again to decide the way.

I followed behind, eating the cookies Emma put in my bag. It was a cheese cookie with cranberries in it.1

By the time I had quietly followed Harry’s footsteps and finished one cookie, his steps stopped.

Harry stopped several times looking for the way, but this time the atmosphere was different.

“The energy is strongest here. If there was a village, it would be around here.”

“Then let’s split up to search around?”

“That would be fast, wouldn’t it? If anything weird pops out, call me.”

“As expected of my dog. How reliable.”

As I reached out to stroke on Harry’s head, he move his body back.

“You have cookie crumbs on your hands!”

“Oh, do you want some?”

I think I ate too much for Harry who was suffering alone.

I quickly try to rummage through my bag for apologies but Harry grabbed my hand and took it to his face.

I looked up to see what was going on, Harry’s tongue was licking my fingers.7

“Hey?”

My chest sank in surprise at the touch of his tongue.

I tried to pull my hand away quickly, but Harry was stronger.1

“What are you doing?”

“You asked me if I want to eat.”

“Who said to eat my hand?”

“There was crumbs left in your hand.”

Harry said so and lick my other finger.

“It’s dirty!”

I shouted and kicked Harry in the shin.

However Harry bends his leg back as if he had expected the attack.

The attack, which lost its target, only shook the center of my body.

I couldn’t resist inertia so I fell forward and hit my head against Harry’s chest.

“Ouch….”

I rubbed my swollen forehead and looked up at Harry.1

“There was a new cookie. If you waited, I would have pulled it out. You can’t stand it and suck on people’s hand?

“I prefer crumbs than cookies.”1

(t/n: Harry should be glad that there’s no police or fbi in their world lol.)2

“What? That’s a very unusual appetite.”

Anyway, demons was hard to understand.1

“If you’re not going to eat cookies, just look around. We have to leave before the sun goes down.”

I grunted and pushed Harry away and looked around.1

The mountain was colder than the plains, my body was trembling.

The ground contained unmelted snow and on the other side, I saw a huge wall of rock as if it had been carved.

I approached the wall rock as if I was possessed.

‘When you knock on walls like in a movie or drama, you’ll find the entrance.’

However, no matter how many times I knocked on the wall, the entrance did not show.

‘Things can’t be done so easily.’

As soon as I turned around from the wall thinking so, I walked on an unknown object.

“Ouch!”

I rolled the floor without a hitch.

My knees are sore from falling. It’s probably bleeding.

‘Did I get stuck in a tree root or something?’

When I looked at the tree root that knocked me down, there was a bright, crooked sword found on the floor.

“Who left a sword here?”

I squatted down on the floor, accusing someone of throwing a garbage at the mountain.3

If I leave it like this, others may fall like me and get seriously injured.

‘Should I pull it out?’

I look around at the sword.

It was deeply embedded that it seemed difficult to pull out.

‘If I can’t, I’ll ask Harry for help.’

The sword handle was wrapped in a bandage.

The dirt and soot made the crooked sword look even more shabby.

I was agonizing and took a handkerchief from my bag and wrap it around the handle. It made me feel much less repulsive.

I grabbed the handle wrapped in a handkerchief and pulled it.

‘Because it’s deeply buried on the floor, I need some strength.’

I decided to put my energy into it.

But as I clenched my teeth and pulled at the sword, I realized something was wrong.

“Huh?”

The sword was pulled out too easily. As the blade was drawn, I could see why.3

‘I thought it was a long sword, but it was a dagger!’

The length calculation was wrong.

I rolled back with the sword, unable to win inertia this time like when I kicked Harry.

“Ahhh!”

The rolling ground was downhill, so it was hard to stop.

After hitting a huge tree, I was able to free myself from rolling around.2

The leaves fell down over my head.

“Ouch, it hurts.”

Not only my back hit on the tree, but as well as my arms and legs was swept on the ground.

I stood up nervously from my seat, removing the leaves that covered my body, and then screamed and sat back in place.

‘It hurt!’

The places that bumped while rolling, screams to not even think about moving it, and just rest.

‘Why did I ended up like this after I said I’m going to get rid of the trash?’

This is a reason on why people were harmed if they lived as a good person.

“I’ll never touch a garbage dump again.”

I grunted and leaned in the tree. It was hard to move alone, so I thought I should call Harry.

[Harry–]

But before I could even call Harry, I could hear a voice of a man in a low voice.

[Are you all right?]

“Huh?”

I was frozen in surprise.

It wasn’t an usual sound. The sound that rang on my head was like an exchange with Harry.

But the main character of the voice was not Harry.

If this is possible without Harry, I can only think of one.

‘Is it a ghost?’

I hated ghosts. It was okay to ride scary rides and beat creepy bugs, but I wanted to avoid ghosts.

[You look very surprised. ]

The ghost spoke to me again without knowing my mind.

It was quite calm and courteous, but it was only a ghost.1

I quickly looked around.

There was nothing, and there was only one suspicious object in this empty space that could have been haunted.

The dagger I just pulled out!

“Ahhhh!”

I screamed and threw away the ghosted dagger.1

[Well, if you throw me so suddenly, it makes me dizzy.]

“I’m sorry! I’ll get you back where you belong, so can you please disappear quietly?”

[You want me to disappear quietly? That’s not easy! Please use me as your sword.]1

“I’m not really interested in a sword with a ghost…”

[A ghost? I’m not a ghost.]

“What kind of sword that talks if it’s not a ghost?”1

[I am this sword, itself. My name is Jupiter. I’ve been waiting a long time for my master to pull me out. ]

“… …Jupiter? Is your name Jupiter?”

It was a familiar name.

[Yes. Have you heard of my name?]

I quickly retraced my memory.

Fortunately, I could recall Harry’s voice in my memory right away.

-I went there a long time ago when I was called in by the moron. There’s a rock out there with a holy sword called Jupiter, and he went to pulled it  out.1

My eyes flashed up.

I crawled the ground carefully and approached the Holy Sword I threw away.

“Well, by any chance, are you the Holy Sword?”

[Yes, the Holy Sword. Some people call me that. ]

“Oh, I heard that the holy sword can never be pulled out? A lot of people tried it, but it never got drew out…”

[Yes, I didn’t allow an unqualified person. ]

“But I just pulled it out. I just pulled it out.”

Too easily, at once.

What do you mean that I pulled out the holy sword with no efforts?

[That’s because Master is qualified.]

“What? Me?”4

‘I don’t know what to say. ‘

I was a total stranger to swords.

Why is the holy sword choosing anyone like this?

“What’s the standard for getting the Holy Sword? I think the Holy Sword made a mistake.”

[I don’t make mistakes, Master. ]

The Holy Sword, Jupiter, said in a calm yet articulate voice.

[So will you hold me?]1

“Well, it’s not hard to hold you.”

I picked up Jupiter again, feeling dazed.

It wasn’t hard to hold the holy sword, just think of it as an extra load.1

“But can I really have a big shot called the holy sword?”1

Another guest came to me, who was so worried.

“Who is it? Who pulled out Jupiter!”

Someone was rushing toward me at a tremendous speed.
