I Picked up a Planet, Do You Want It, President? - Chapter 37

The group of people started their journey, occasionally stopping to collect some animal and plant specimens.

After arriving at the edge of the charted location, Douglas stopped and said.

“The places we’ve been up to this point had all been scouted out before. From this point on, we will be entering uncharted territory, so we don’t know what dangers lie ahead. You must not act on your own or run around when you encounter danger. If that happens, we will protect you.”

“We understand.” The two professors nodded.

“Wait! Why Can’t we run away if we encounter danger? Aren’t you guys supposed to be in charge of our safety? If there is a problem, you should step up immediately and block the danger for us.” A dark-skinned man with thick lips and dreads said.

Gaia looked at Douglas. Douglas just helplessly shrugged.

He did not expect to actually meet an idiot like that.

“What kind of place does he think this is? Is he still thinking about Black Lives Matter at this point? When he is in danger, I’ll be the first to kick him in the shins and let him die.” Brad came over and said unhappily.

Douglas did not answer the way the man with dreadlocks would have liked. Conversely, he doubled down and said.

“We have not received any orders from our superiors stating that we must protect your safety. In the event of emergencies, we have the right to stop our mission at any time.”

Wendell’s heart sank. He said angrily, “Mr. Douglas, I will fill a complaint to Mr. Philip about you.”

“Go ahead!” Douglas said indifferently.

In his heart, Philip was already a dead man.

To be honest, that guy was also stupid.

He was eating straight out of the bowl of the Klaus Family, but he was still trying to sell the Klaus Family’s secrets. The worst part was that the way he did it was absolutely moronic and easy to detect.

Gaia had already made the phone call before he left the base. He knew that their superior would not be Philip by the time they returned.

The man in the dreads kept complaining that the exploration team’s service towards them was not good enough.

Before Gaia and the others could provide their rebuttals, Sophia suddenly spoke.

“Anthony, the purpose of my visit this time is to study nature, understand nature, and conquer nature. It’s not to give you a tour. If you don’t like it, you can go back at any time. To be honest, I don’t even know why they let you come here in the first place. Must be that powerful uncle of yours pulling strings…

“Oh right, my bad. He might not even be your uncle. He might actually be your father. How else would he have given birth to someone mentally challenged like you?”

His words made the man with dreadlocks turn red with rage.

“You’re bullsh*tting!”

“I’m sure you know the truth about that all too well,” Sophia said disdainfully.

Gaia found it quite interesting. William and the others were also looking over curiously. They had even forgotten about their anger just now, as the desire to gossip slowly took over.

Hmm?

Uncle and father. A sudden change in identities.

HMM.

Interesting.

These words had not only shut the African-American man up, but it had also shut Professor Wendell up.

However, Professor Wendell did not seem too hung up on it.

Rather, he did not dare to be hung up about the situation. After all, Sophia seemed to have come from a powerful family.

Douglas cleared his throat. Ignoring the angry gazes of Wendell and the others, he said directly.

“Move out!”

After entering the unfamiliar area, everyone became more cautious.

“Caw!” A shrill cry came from the tree.

“My ears!” Someone said in a low voice.

“That thing…” Wendell raised his head to take a look. The next moment, it felt like he was entranced.

He saw a bird that looked somewhat like a crow perched in a tree. Its eyes were blood-red, as it looked coldly at the people below.

“That bird has such beautiful eyes, they’re like rubies…” Professor Wendell exclaimed.

The Blood-eyed Crow stared at the crowd for a moment before flying away.

Before leaving, it took a good look at the group, its irises reflected the appearance of every one of the group.

Gaia used Attune to Nature.

“No danger within ten meters.”

Hearing him say so, the exploration team nodded. Remaining Vigilant, they slowly proceeded forward.

Even if the exploration team recognized Gaia’s ability, they would not lower their guard.

This was an instinct that they had developed after countless battles.

Those who were not cautious enough had already died in the war.

“How did you know that there is no danger?” Sophia was even more curious.

How did Gaia know how dangerous it was ten meters ahead?

Obviously, these soldiers trusted Gaia, which meant that they also agreed with Gaia’s judgment.

In other words, Gaia’s judgment must have been very accurate.

“Take a guess.”

Gaia would not reveal his ability to outsiders. This was the most basic of precautions.

If others knew about it, it would be very easy to target him.

Gaia did not even tell his comrades in the exploration team that his ability had actually been upgraded. Now, he could use Attuned to Nature for up to a 20-meter radius.

Sophia was not angry. There were still plenty of opportunities ahead. She would be able to find out sooner or later.

After walking for a while, Gaia raised his fist.

“Stop! There’s danger!”

William and the others quickly stopped and readied their weapons.

William and Sears took out a shield and positioned themselves in front and behind Gaia. They were determined to protect the core of the team — Gaia.

Gaia extended his finger and pointed to the bushes on his left.

“Be alert, a big one is coming.

“10 o’clock!”

The next second.

“Rustle…”

After the bushes rustled for a bit more, a huge head appeared. It looked like a black panther.

At this moment, through Attuned to Nature, Gaia also knew the name of this creature.

Shadow Panther!

Like the Greenwood Wolves that have appeared before, they are extraordinary creatures with extraordinary abilities.

The Shadow Panther, as its name suggests, had control of the shadow element.

That statement also made Gaia was curious. Why did they encounter this creature in the middle of the day?

These guys were supposed to be nocturnal creatures.

In the night, the Shadow Panther’s attributes are strengthened. However, it was also weakened during the day.

——————————

At first, they did not notice because it was lying flat on the ground.

However, as the creature stood up straight, they learned that its back was almost as tall as a human person.

“Roar!” The Shadow Panther growled at the group.

The soldiers all aimed at this creature.

“Fire!”

“Wait!” Someone shouted.

However, no one cared.

“Ratatatata!”

The muzzles of ten soldiers started spitting out fiery hot lead.

The rain of bullets all struck the body of the Shadow Panther.

The Shadow Panther’s muscles tensed up. With a huge leap, it dodged most of the bullets.

The bullets that did hit were just deflected away by its fur.

This attack did not manage to deal any damage. Instead, it only enraged the creature, causing it to directly pounce at the group.
