“Director, why is the new script not delivered yet? Our colleagues in the production team are all asking for it.” Xia Changyue had just entered the meeting room, and before she could speak, Jiang Mingna, who was following her closely, already made her way in.
The first words she said were all complaints against Xia Changyue.
She pretended to have just seen Xia Changyue only after she had spoken. She exaggeratedly covered her mouth.
“Didn’t you look at the mirror before you walked out of your front door, Xia Changyue? You look atrocious, and you’re scaring the people here!”

Xia Changyue was stunned, then she quickly touched her cheek with her hand.
She hadn’t slept for the whole night and had rushed to the production team early in the morning. She didn’t need to look into the mirror to know that she looked awful.
She had tried to cover up with some light make-up. However, now it seemed like nothing had been covered at all.
“Are you sick?”
The Director removed his gaze from the production schedule in his hands and looked at Xia Changyue after hearing Jiang Mingna.
“I am sorry, Director Wang. I have not completed the editing of the script. May I have one more day to do it, please?” Xia Changyue pursed her lips and admitted her mistake right away.
“I was just saying, why did she look so pitiful today? So, it was just an act to gain sympathy. All because she couldn’t complete her editing in time.” Jiang Mingna snapped her fingers and sneered. “Do you know how much it cost when the production team stopped filming for a day? All of us have to wait because of you. Can you shoulder this responsibility?”
The Director’s expression changed after hearing what Jiang Mingna said. He raised his head, looked at Xia Changyue, and said, “I said yesterday that we need the script latest by today, Scriptwriter Xia.”
“Yes, I didn’t finish the editing, but the part that needed to be amended is minor. The majority of the script is fine, and it totally will not affect today’s filming schedule.”
Xia Changyue placed the modified script onto the table.
“Rest assured, Director Wang. I will finish the editing as soon as possible and will not delay the progress of the production unit.”
“That will be the best.”
The Director’s expression was less severe after he heard that production progress would not be delayed. He glanced at her and said, “You don’t look very good. If you are really unwell, take the script home to edit.”
“Thank you, Director.”
Xia Changyue heaved a sigh of relief, and she ignored Jiang Mingna’s antagonistic gaze. She then carried the script in her arms and left the meeting room.
Her legs wobbled just as she crossed the threshold, and she fell forward.
She reached out and held onto the wall to support herself.
Her pale face became even paler. She reached out, held her tummy tightly, and knelt down in pain.
She only rested for a short while before she stood up and left the production unit. She was worried that Jiang Mingna would come and make trouble for her.
Her mobile phone was not working. She gotta fix it before she could return to the villa.
“Your phone is fixed, Miss, but are you all alright? You don’t look good.” The repairman at the mobile phone repair shop handed her phone back to her and asked, after looking at her pale complexion.
Xia Changyue took her phone back to make sure it was really working fine. She then raised her head and said, “I am fine. Can I bother you to help get me a taxi, please.”
Her stomachache was getting worse as time went by…
“Sure.”
The repairman quickly hailed a taxi and helped her into it.
He couldn’t help but remind her just as he was about to close the car door for her.
“Although mobile phones nowadays are waterproof to a certain extent, it is better to put them further away while we are washing hands or bathing. I am afraid we will not be able to fix it if it is submerged again!”
