The butler put her luggage in a bedroom and told her that this was where she would stay. Then he prepared to leave.
“Where is Yan Chengchi? Was he not at home?” Xia Changyue asked unconsciously.
She began to hold her breath nervously when she finished speaking.
She was afraid to see Yan Chengchi, but this was his territory. It was impossible to keep avoiding him.
After all, she did carry this little expectation of seeing him in her heart…
“Young Master Chi never tells the servants his whereabouts,” the butler said respectfully. Then he bowed slightly and left the room.
Xia Changyue was left all alone in the large bedroom.
He really was not at home then…
She was nervous for nothing during the whole journey here.
Xia Changyue sat on her luggage and looked at the strange room. She bit her lips and remained still for quite a while.
She never thought she would be able to see Yan Chengchi again.
It never even occurred to her that she would move into his villa just after their third meeting.
She had totally no idea what he was going on inside his head.
Shouldn’t he hate her?
She remembered every single word he said four years ago. He told her never to appear in front of him again, or he would never let her off…
Xia Changyue shook her head to stop her thoughts from running wild. She carefully sized up the room and recalled the route that the butler used when they walked from the villa’s main entryway to her now supposed room.
“This is not the master bedroom, so where is Yan Chengchi’s room?”
Xia Changyue got up from her luggage and walked out carefully.
It had been four years. Xia Changyue didn’t dare to find out any news about him at all. Now she had moved into his villa, so naturally, she was curious about him.
She really wanted to know if things were going well for him in the past four years.
Just like a thief, Xia Changyue slowly sneaked toward the master bedroom.
She stood in front of the master bedroom’s door and took a deep breath. Then she reached out her hand to turn the door handle.
It was open.
The door was not locked.
She couldn’t help but heave a sigh of relief. She pushed open a little crack and looked inside.
His bedroom was decorated in a simple black-and-white fashion. Just like his office, it felt cold.
Even the air in the room felt cold as if it was unoccupied for an extended period.
Xia Changyue stood at the doorway, hesitant to enter.
The cell phone in her pocket rang, which gave her a fright
“Hello, Miss Xia. This is the hospital…” a nervous voice was speaking on the phone.
“Bam!”
Xia Changyue’s hand shook, and the phone slid out of her palm. She bent over to pick up the phone in the next moment, turned over, and rushed out of the villa.
She failed to get a taxi even after standing outside of the villa for a long time. She bit her lips and started running toward the villa’s main road.
She only managed to hail a taxi after running all the way out.
“Please drive fast, Sir. I am going to First Hospital.” Xia Changyue spoke with a shaky voice.
She was so nervous that she held her breath and clenched her fists very tightly as the taxi drove to the hospital. Her palms were scratched and bleeding, yet, she didn’t even feel the pain.
Once the taxi stopped, she opened the car door immediately and ran into the hospital.
She ran to the Intensive Care Unit’s operating room without stopping.
Her heart dropped when she saw the red light outside of the operating room.
The operation was still in progress…
“Bleep,” the red light went off, and the operating room’s door opened from the inside.
Xia Changyue was startled and rushed forward when she saw the doctor leaving the room.
She wanted to ask something. She opened her mouth, but she couldn’t make a single sound.
