I Don’t Want To Be Duke’s Adopted Daughter-in-law - Chapter 20

Upon entering the conference room, the eyes of the nobles, seen as the elders and vassals of the Shuetz family, poured out on Elie.

Duke Shuetz was located at the center of the vassals, and behind it, as usual, Ante stood.

“You will remember what I said to you. This is a child.”

At the words of the Duke, Elie quickly grabbed Chimathdan and greetd them with politeness.

“Hello. Hello, greetings for the first time. I am Elie.”

She was a polite greeting that was homeless, but the faces of the vassals were crumpled.

It was only the name that came out of the child’s mouth. It meant a commoner.

  “I am……”

“What, what the hell happened?”

The elders muttered word by word and expressed their discomfort.

Still, it was a gentler reaction than expected.

‘I guess it’s because I was with the Duke.’

Elie smiled round and round without losing.

I looked a little depressed and became a prey and was able to bite me off.

‘It’s like a child brought by the Duke himself.’

As the vassals swallowed up groaning, Viscount Corbino on the other hand laughed.

This is why he has to use his hand in advance.

Viscount Corbino opened his mouth.

“Lord Duke, but there are things I want you to see first.”

At the sudden words, Erhard opened his eyes in dissatisfaction.

“It must be urgent enough to take the order.”

“It’s about the blue hop processing I mentioned last time. It’s true that the processing you told me about was just finished yesterday, I hope the Duke will see you.”

As usual with Viscount Corbino, people smiled with good laughter.

The Duke nodded his head as he stared at him with a face whose emotions were unknown.

Viscount Corbino, who received consent, arose from his seat and ordered his attendant to bring the Stone.

“What? What are you talking about?”

But a strange voice came through the slightly open door.

“Lord, what’s going on?”

Corbino replied, stuttering to the question of one of the vassals.

“…..It is said that the Blue Hope that you was supposed to give to the Duke …… has disappeared.”

  “The Blue Hope is gone?”

“What does that mean. After all, the processed Blue Hope will disappear!”

“If it goes into the hands of the monsters…!”

The vassals murmured at the words of the blue sky.

Among them, Parak, the eldest elder, sharply shot.

“Who managed the gem?”

“This is my servant.”

  “Bring that servant. Come on!”

At Parak’s urge, the attendant, who had shown the jewel to Elie, wandered inside.

“Did you have Blue Hope?”

  “Yes, yes, yes….”

“How about the replacement management…! No, this isn’t important now. Who was the last person to have?”

Replied, stuttering from the beginning to Parak’s blame.

“Poetry, I actually put the Blue Hope somewhere else for a while.”

“A different place. Where is that precious thing?”

“…..I showed it to the lady over there first.”

People’s attention was focused on Elie.

“I showed her the Blue Hope to greet her who I am, and I gave her a jewel so that she can see it comfortably….”

Viscount Corbino was restless and blurred.  Parak shot sharply.

“Did you get the Blue Hope back?”

“No, I didn’t get it back,”

said the lie, trembling from the beginning.

The atmosphere has cooled down.  The flow has changed as I thought.

Viscount Corbino said, swallowing laughter.

“Lord Duke. If it doesn’t excuse me, would you please allow me to search the body?”

“search?”

Then the Duke asked, narrowing his eyebrows.

“……I’m really sorry to say this to the Duke, but I’ve heard something,”

Viscount Corbino said in an embarrassing voice.

“Everybody knows. This story of a thief who invaded Count Lati O’Nell’s castle.”

Count La Tionel was the father of the current Empress Cartia.

“What about that?”

“Lord, I said that her mother was a famous thief.”

“what?”

“Is it the daughter of the thief who broke into Count Lati O’Nell?”

At the horse of Viscount Corbino, the vassals groaned and looked at each other.

It was instinctively aware that this was the way Viscount Corbino had spoken.

The elders and guards all bowed their heads toward the duke.

“Duke, we can’t just go over after hearing this story.”

“Please allow me to search the child’s body.”

“Please, Duke.”

The Duke, looking down at the heads pointed at me, slowly moved his gaze.

Red eyes touched Viscount Corbino with his head down.

  ‘It was such a trick.’

I just told the story of Blue Hope and wondered what kind of trick he was going to do.

It’s just such a shallow number.’

It was when the Duke took off his mouth to work on their masterpieces.

“……It’s true that my mother was a thief, but I really didn’t touch anything,”

Ellie opened her mouth a little trembling.

She had a very scared face.

“So it’s not like we’re going to check it out.”

“I really didn’t steal!”

“If you do a body search, wait for it to be revealed. What do you want to hide?”

One of the trails stumbled.  Eli, biting her mouth firmly, said in a slightly subdued voice.

“Okay, but if nothing comes out of my body, please apologize.”

“Huh! I think this is confidence. Yes, I do it. I accept the condition.”

The vassals said so and clapped their chins at the beginning.

It meant to look in her body.

No matter how young she was, her body color should be of the same sex, but the guards didn’t call her maid.

It was an obvious disregard.

The attendant swallowed his saliva and put his hand in the pocket where he had hidden the Blue Hope.

My heart was beating like crazy.

I only need to pass this safely.  Then I……. .

“Huh?”

There was nothing in the pocket.

‘Nonsense.  Everything, was it hidden somewhere else?’

But there was no place in the frilled dress to hide things except for those pockets.

The attendant looked at Viscount Corbino with an embarrassed expression.

“Now, Viscount…”

The stupid attendant muttered vainly toward Viscount. His face was like a guilty child.

‘When a fire breaks out, the child is first sought after by his parents.’

Elie moved her gaze, pulling the tail of her mouth without being noticed.

Raised and moved her gaze.  The Duke’s gaze was directed at Viscount Corbino.

It was an expressionless face, but Elie knew it.

That was the eyes of a predator who found prey.

When the crowd is in confusion, the events happen most.

  Elie quickly moved her hand.

The opposite direction, out of reach of people.

The Blue Hope, which she had in his servant’s pocket, was caught in her hand.

‘I would have noticed if it was heavy.’

Sadly, because it was so light, it seemed that my plan had been well realized.

Elie squeezed her hand lightly.  The frills hung over the cows perfectly covered her little hand.

he said in the end, with his face turned white from the beginning, where he couldn’t find any traces.

“Oh, nothing… there is nothing.”

“No way! What are you talking about!”

cried Viscount Corbino with confused face.

“Isn’t it correct to find it right?”

Viscount Corbino, who couldn’t overcome his anger, ran forward.

Then, forgetting that it was excuse, he groped in my pocket.

As if he know what have hidden in this place.

But after all, nothing was in my pocket.

Viscount’s face is tired of the new blue color.

“There’s nothing?”

“Then, did you really mean you didn’t steal it?”

the elders and the guards whispered, whispering in their voices.  They were expressions that instinctively realized that something was wrong.

“No way, it can’t be!”

Viscount Corbino yelled at Ellie, screaming in his throat, struck by evil.

“Dirty bitch! Where did you hide it? Say right!”

Viscount Corbino firmly grabbed Ellie’s shoulder.

Ellie trembling her body and grabbing the hem of Viscount Corbino as if asking him to let her go.

The conquest he was wearing was very thick because of the northern season.

So even if he added a little weight, he wouldn’t be able to notice it.

For an instant, Ellie’s bid drew the line.
