I Became the Ultimate Boss - Chapter 11

“They’re talking so much.”

“What are they blabbering about?”

As they were taken back to the Dog-headed People Mountain Village while being trussed up, the five players saw a bunch of dog-headed people pointing at them in surprise. They spoke the dog-headed tribe language that they did not understand. The players were puzzled.

One of the girls tried struggling, but the rope tied around her body was just too solid, so she could not move at all. “How come we can’t break free?”

One of the grumpy men checked the time and said angrily, “We’re still bound after half an hour. I’ll log out of the game and complain to the game company. F*ck!”

The team leader advised immediately after realizing that someone was eager to log out, “Don’t go just yet. Maybe we’ve activated a hidden mission!”

The grumpy man and the girl, who were tied up, were stunned when they heard that.

It made sense. They had never seen such a phenomenon whereby the imprisonment time was so long in other games.

Perhaps, they had activated the legendary hidden mission and were going to witness the opening of an epic plot.

The five players could not help but feel joyful as they thought about it to themselves. They believed that the ugly dog-headed people looked less insufferable now.

They did not think that they were annoying no matter how loud they were blabbering. Instead, they thought that was the clue to the hidden plot.

While the five players listened carefully, one of them turned on the recording function that came with the game and recorded the bunch of dog-headed people’s chatter. Unfortunately, the players could not understand their language.

This game was a newly launched online game, so there were very few people playing it. The game itself was more on the hardcore side and was rather difficult to play.

If the mission list did not show the captions, nobody would have known what language the monsters in the game were speaking.

The game had no translation function which was considered one of the game’s flaws.

At that moment, an elite monster with ‘dog-headed counselor’ stated above its head squatted down. He began searching the male leader carefully and soon removed the dagger at his waist.

The leader hummed and checked his equipment slot. His weapon slot was empty.

‘Where did my equipment go?’

The leader was dumbstruck when he watched the dog-headed counselor take his dagger away.

“The little monsters stole my equipment!” the leader lost his composure and fumed. It was his first time finding out that little monsters could steal equipment.

The remaining four teammates were shocked to witness that.

The game’s interaction mechanism sure was powerful. They could not believe that the little monsters could remove the players’ equipment!

The dog-headed counselor mumbled and tossed the dagger aside. He stretched his hand into the little pouch on the leader’s waist and took out blood bottles, potion bottles, and other stuff from the pouch…

The players had equipment slots of their own. They would place their items in their backpack since usually, nobody could steal the items in the backpack.

Never had he thought that the dog-headed people would have taken out the items in his backpack from the pouch on his waist.

The adventurer leader felt mindblown.

How were the little monsters here so powerful?

In reality, the dog-headed counselor was also shocked. He could not believe that these adventurers’ pouch could contain so many things. After all, it seemed like a tiny pouch.

The dog-headed counselor was excited. This looked like a really rare piece of clothing. He made up his mind to give the adventurer’s clothes to Boss Ke…No, wait, he could not do that.

‘The pocket on this piece of clothing is so small. The evil god is such a great existence. If He has hands, He might not even be able to put them in, so this can’t be used as a sacrifice. It’s just too small since the pocket is only three to four centimeters wide.’

The dog-headed counselor walked to the next adventurer after he was done searching the first player’s items. He did the same thing whereby he removed the weapons and stretched his hand into the adventurer’s pocket to remove the items inside.

The remaining three players looked at each other as they felt like something was wrong.

“I’ll go offline first. I’m worried that he might molest me.” The girl frowned. She was afraid that the dog-headed people might touch her body.

It was a virtual reality game whereby the experience in the game was pretty real. Although the girl could adjust her body sensation to the lowest, she felt mentally uncomfortable.

“I don’t want to be touched too,” the other girl said on the chat screen.

“I don’t mind. I’ll just let him throw my stuff away. I want to see the hidden plot that’ll happen next. You guys go ahead and go offline if you want.”

The assassin player ‘Qing’ seemed really excited. It was his first time encountering the little monsters stealing equipment. On top of that, the little monsters took all of his equipment.

He could definitely earn many views when he uploaded the full video of him being captured in the game onto the internet.

Soon, two girls in the five-player team went offline in the middle of the game.

According to the usual game rule, players in battle mode could not go offline. However, they were playing a virtual reality game, and the player’s safety was the priority. Therefore, they were allowed to go offline in the middle of the game.

As they went offline in the middle of the game, the game characters remained in the game world. They would suffer a decrease in their tier if they died, and there would be a chance of them dropping their equipment. However, the chance of that was 100% in the presence of the dog-headed people.

The three of them left behind were all guys. All of the equipment they had were taken away by the dog-headed people. Everything was placed on the ground.

The leader and two players looked at their equipment and items while feeling like they were bleeding inside.

However, they seemed very excited as they thought about the hidden plot that would happen soon.

The bunch of dog-headed people was picking and choosing on the ground as they mumbled in their dog-headed language that the players did not understand. They seemed to be commenting on the players’ items.

The assassin player in leather armor struck up a conversation. “Why do you guys think they’re looking through our equipment? They don’t know how to use it anyway.”

“How would you know that they don’t know?” The leader glanced at the assassin player.

“I’m just guessing since we’ve got nothing to do anyway.”

“That’s right. We’ve been imprisoned for at least an hour. If they don’t release us, won’t we be imprisoned forever?”

The three of them lay on the ground while waiting for the plot to unfold.

A couple of hours later, the sky turned dark gradually. The night crow cawed in the sky.

“It’s happening. They’ve put on their costumes.”

At that moment, the little mountain village was covered in darkness. However, the dog-headed people did not light any torches. They stood by the well just like that in silence.

All of them wore black robes while each of them had a dog-face mask on. They covered their heads entirely in the hood, so their faces could not be seen.

The sky was turning darker. The tens of dog-headed people stood in the empty land where the well was. The three adventurers and the two players who had gone offline were bound next to the well with their heads facing downwards the well.

The black-robed man with ‘Dog-headed Priest’ stated above his head walked over with a purple pouch in his hand.

He took out some glowing substance from the pouch. It looked like some blue powder, but there was no scent.

He scattered it onto the ground softly and made a magic formation of eight-pointed stars with a circle. A candle was lit on each of the eight points together with some strange spices.

Later on, the villagers opened their mouths to worship passionately in a language that they did not understand.

Their voices were extremely loud and the pitch was very high at first. Although they did not understand the language, they thought that it sounded powerful.

After chanting for a few minutes, the villagers’ voices became messy without sequence. There was ringing in their ears as if there were hundreds of people chanting sacrificial chants.

For some reason, the three players heard ringing in their heads while they felt their bodies go cold all over.

“How did the temperature drop?” The leader lifted his head in a stiff manner and saw the moon being engulfed by dark clouds. It was gone.

The little village became even darker now. The crow that was cawing at the village entrance suddenly shut its mouth. It closed its eyes as it stood on the treetop, pretending to be dead.

The fluorescent powder was like a light in the dark. It seemed to be alive as it appeared to be breathing while it glowed bright and went dark alternately.

The Dog-headed Priest walked around the edge of the circle in the magic formation in his dog-face mask. He was jumping around while dancing. He shook the wind chime in his hand and worshipped His God’s name.

At that moment, the people saw the fire on the candles quiver intensely, turning into creepy green flames.
