I Am The Commander Of The Second Male Lead’s Knights - Chapter 56

Chapter 56

TL-Mechatronic

Going up to the room, Nina changed into comfortable clothes. The uniform catches too much attention when someone is walking around.

“Kirill is right. I’ve invited people over and neglected them, so he stayed only inside the castle.’

Of course, he likes to research, so he may be happy to live in a lab, but……

‘If you want them to stay healthy, you also have to give them sunlight and fresh air.’

Thinking it was similar to bedding management of a maid’s duty, Nina went down to the front door with a basket.

Randell, wearing a light brown robe, stood waiting,

“Aren’t you hot?”

He nodded at Nina’s question.

“No, it’s all right.”

Nina boldly said, “Is it okay because it’s a thin robe?” “Then let’s go.” (Nina)

As soon as they left the castle, they found a village below, surrounded by walls.

The size of the Black Shield Castle was considerable as it was by nature. Because of its closeness to Violet Forest, the people living here were given various benefits, so the population was always maintained appropriately.

It was a hundred years ago that bellacs last invaded the Black Shield, so the people living here were numb to the fact that bellacs were near.

It was a peace made up of the blood and sacrifice of the Dark Knights.

Randell looked at the people who were moving frantically. There were shops densely packed in both alleys.

“It’s noisy.”

Nina replied to his words, “You feel like you are alive now, right?”

He nodded his head.

Of course, there were shops like this on Blue Stone Island, but they were not so lively.

“My master took me to the lower village on the Island a few times.”

It was all good memories, but he hasn’t gone once since his Master died.

“Then I hope it’ll be a good memory again. Let’s get something to eat here and leave the castle surroundings. Why don’t we eat on a hill nearby?”

She came out with a basket with such intentions

She showed him a basket made of backwood. There was a clatter in the basket coming from tableware. Fascinated by Nina’s plan, he nodded like a puppy. It was his first time having a meal outside.

The two went around the store to buy cheap wine and carefully selected a good cheese. They chose bread that was not too hard and sliced ham.

All this was fun, so Randell burst into a smile.

Nina chatted quickly, explaining. And Randell listened to her stories while he spread the butter carefully. He was impressed by the story of adding carrot juice to make the color of butter look yellow in the winter.

Finally, after buying potatoes and putting them all into a large cloth, Nina wrapped them around and went out of the castle area. Although he rode a donkey on his way to the castle, it felt different when Randell walked it together with Nina. They’re not even talking about research, but he felt comfortable talking to her.

He wanted to understand how the topics came out so steadily.

Climbing a hill full of rabbit grass, the two settled among the white flowers in full bloom.

Nina plucked the grass, picked a spot, made a bonfire, and threw the potatoes in. The bread was heated slightly by fire, and the wine bottle sealed with wax was carefully opened.

The two took out wooden cups and knives from the basket and started eating

After tasting the wine, Randell had no choice but to laugh.

“Oh, my God. It has too much water.”

“Where…… Wow….. That’s true.”

Nina grumbled that she would not leave the bar owner alone. Randell smiled and said.

“I’m sure you’re good at choosing the colors……”

“Really. Isn’t this too much?”

The taste was so ridiculous that it made them laugh. Still, it was not a mixture of old sour or spoiled wine, so it could be used as a substitute for drinks.

“I feel different again when I look at it like this.”

Nina nodded to the remark and agreed.

“Where is Nina from?”

“I’m from a rural village, but there’s no name for the village.”

At Nina’s answer, Randell fiddled with his glasses and took them off. This time, Nina was not surprised and continued looking at him. She’s been through it once before, but it seems that his personality hasn’t changed so much when he takes off his glasses yet.

“My father was a thief.”

Even after taking off his glasses, Randell’s tone was gentle. His gaze looking at his glasses went to Nina. His blue eyes quickly observed what kind of expression she was making. At Nina’s casual mood, he continued while feeling relieved.

“I was from a slum, so I had a bad personality, that’s why I’m not very proud of my past.”

If you don’t take it, someone else will take it, if you don’t steal it, you’ll be the one who’s robbed. Even at a young age, he didn’t blink an eye while swinging a knife, cursing, and wielding violence.

“After learning that I had a strange power, someone from Blue Stone Island came to pick me up.”

He grinned.

“My father sold me for a piece of silver. So that night, I tried to hit the other person in the head with a stone and run away.”

“So did you succeed in running away?”

Randell shook his head at Nina’s question.

“My opponent was a Sage, he wouldn’t get hit by a child. I arrived at the island of Blue Stone wrapped up. Not even knowing what hit me.”

Randell’s eyes narrowed. He put on his glasses with a gentle touch.

“It wasn’t very good there either, but I still met a good teacher. He gave me these glasses.”

Randell said as he wore his glasses again.

“Until I can control the anger inside me, these glasses calm my anger.”

Nina looked at his face and raised a question. “That’s all?”

“What?”

“The glasses. Every time you wear them and take them off, your impression changes.”

Randell’s cheeks turned red at Nina’s words. He said, with a sigh.

“When my anger subsided, there were people who looked at my face and approached me in a bad way, so I made a spell to hide myself.”

“I see.”

Nina nodded while lost in thought. All she knew was the latter, and it’s the first time she hears the former.

Whether it wasn’t all he confessed to the heroine Fiona, whether the original narrative wasn’t everything, or she simply couldn’t remember the fact.

“It’s not wrong anyway.’

There was just one more reason, so she asked another question after feeling relieved.

“Then is it a spell? Or is it an allusion? Or is it mind control?”

“It’s a spell.”

In response, Nina looked seriously into his face and said.

“Then you’d better take it off.”

Randell’s expression hardened.

“Why?”

Nina recalled ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.’ What happened to him after he tried to be a good person without his evil nature?

He just developed a double personality.

“This is what I think but, If you rely on those glasses, you’ll gradually forget how to control your anger.”

At Nina’s words, Randell opened his eyes wide as if he had been caught in a loophole.

“I won’t tell you to take it off at once. But why don’t you take it off when you’re with me? Even if Randell gets angry, I’ll forgive you because I know the circumstances. Luckily, that’s my specialty.”

Nina laughed as she recalled the days when the Dark Knights were in the Violet Forest.

She added as if singing.

“If you want it, we’ll be good friends.”

Randell looked at Nina as if he was studying her for a long time. The sun-like golden eyes that dance lively seemed to make even dust sparkle like jewels.

He dropped his gaze, took off his glasses, and folded them in.

“It’s my first time to have a friend.”

Nina smiled broadly at his words.

“It’s an honor.”

Nina put her hand on her right chest and bowed her waist lightly. Randell also leaned over her greetings.

After toasting and drinking to commemorate becoming friends, Randell spoke wild swear words about the taste, and Nina said, “Wow, it’s really weird even if you drink again.” as she giggled.
