Tang Qianmiao arrived at the entrance of the auction hall. She was dressed casually, not too different from the usual. Even then, perhaps because she was so beautiful, she attracted much attention.
Lowering his head, Black Chicken whispered to her discreetly, “Boss, there are at the very least 35 hungry wolves around here who are eyeing you off.”

“Mr. Lu, it’s been a long time. What a surprise to see you here.” One of the bosses extended his hand in greeting.
Black Chicken shook it.
The other party quickly said, “Oh, who was the lady you were with just then and where is she from? Brother Lu is indeed lucky to have such a pretty girlfriend.”
Giving a brief smile, Black Chicken didn’t respond. He wasn’t sure what to say.
His boss was always putting him on the spot, and he was used to it by now.
Since it was a known principle that the more one spoke, the more mistakes one would commit, he chose to keep silent. Whatever the other person said, he would only respond with a smile and nod.
Coincidentally, this happened to be the scene that was playing out as Feng Xian and company walked in. The both of them were right behind Tang Qianmiao, hence they saw what was happening.
Taken aback, the assistant stared wide-eyed at the scene. When he first saw this, he had thought it was a misunderstanding. He didn’t think that Tang Qianmiao had a boyfriend. Sneaking a few looks at his boss’s expression, he saw that it was just as he’d expected.
There was no reaction.
The look in his eyes was unfathomable, it was hard to know what he was thinking.
After a moment, he looked away and then started to chat with the bosses who were coming up to greet them.
The assistant adjusted his glasses. He wasn’t too surprised by his boss’ reaction. After all, besides work, his boss was only interested in more work, he wouldn’t poke his nose into other people’s business.
The only reason he was at the auction tonight was because Bai Mi had sent in a very unique fragrance to be auctioned off. His boss must have been hoping to locate Bai Mi through this perfume.

After going to the washroom. Tang Qianmiao headed to the terrace to take a breath of fresh air while waiting for the auction to commence.
Just as she stepped out, she heard a rather irritating female voice…
“Cousin!”
She turned her head slightly, looking rather icy.
Lin Wenyu hurried towards her, wearing a dress with a dramatically wide skirt. She widened her eyes as she exclaimed, “It’s really you!”
Looking as though she had made the discovery of the century, she turned and called out to her parents, “Mom, Dad, it’s Cousin.”
Tang Qianmiao had every intention to ignore the girl and walked over to the railing to enjoy the night view.
Meanwhile, Yun Ruyi and her husband approached the figure and saw from the profile that this was indeed her. They were astonished.
“What’s Miao Miao doing here?” Yun Ruyi asked, looking over at her husband.
As always, Tang Yi looked sullen upon seeing Tang Qianmiao. His expression was gloomy at best.
Lin Wenyu bit on her lip. “Dad, Mom and I saw Cousin being taken away by an unknown man this afternoon. I heard she didn’t return to the Feng residence last night, and she didn’t return to the Tang residence either. She must have been with someone else.”
After these words, she pursed her lips and snuck a glance at her stepfather’s expression. When she saw that it had darkened even more, she smiled to herself.
At this point, a man came up to Tang Qianmiao. He stood very close to her and seemed to be telling her something.
Lin Wenyu’s eyes lit up as she exclaimed, “It’s that man!”
Yun Ruyi sighed and added, “It looks like he brought Miao Miao here. Otherwise, how would a child like her be able to get in? The tickets to this event are so hard to come by.”
“Hubby, I’m really worried about Miao Miao. She’s become so strange ever since her mother passed away. She heeds nobody’s advice and behaves as though she’s her own boss. That aside, now she’s even gotten herself entangled with these unknown men. If she continues being like his, she’ll ruin herself.”
Before she could finish, a storm was already brewing on Tang Yi’s face. His cold and hard stare fell on Tang Qianmiao before it shifted onto his wife and daughter.
“You are not to go over to talk to her. Just treat it as though you don’t know her.”
Having given that instruction, he walked away without giving Tang Qianmiao another look. Yun Ruyi and her daughter exchanged a look, looked towards Tang Qianmiao and snickered.
“Mom, I guess it’s true that Dad doesn’t like Cousin. He can’t even be bothered with her.”
Yun Ruyi raised an eyebrow and replied, “That’s why I’ve always told you to work hard and excel at everything. Make your father happy and perhaps he’d even leave you with part of his estate in the future.”
The thought made Lin Wenyu excited and a glint flashed past her eyes. “Then I should bid for a few good items and give them to Dad as presents. I’ll use my prize money to bid. We’ll show Cousin that she and I are miles apart!”
Tang Qianmiao only slowly turned to look at the disappearing figures from the corner of her eye, after they had walked away.
On her face was an expression filled with mocking derision.
