His Wife Calls The Shots - Chapter 23

The physics teacher was dazzled by the man’s good looks for a few moments before he snapped back to his senses.
“You are Tang Qianmiao’s elder brother?”
Feng Xian lowered his gaze slightly so that it fell on Tang Qianmiao. He said to her, “Pack your stuff and let’s go.”
He had ignored the teacher’s question.
The teacher was rather embarrassed but did not say anything.
In the first place, detention was a practice that wasn’t permitted. Now that a family member had turned up, all the more, the detention should not continue.
Except that before they left, he told Feng Xian, “Your sister is well-qualified. You might want to spend more time persuading her to take her studies more seriously.”
Tang Qianmiao suddenly stood up and positioned herself between the two men. Then throwing Feng Xian a look, she walked out. The man followed after her, and the teacher was left flabbergasted.
Why did he feel as though he was being nosy?
The sun was still high in the skies. Tang Qianmiao walked slowly under the shade of the trees, constantly catching a whiff of that faint milky peppermint scent.
Lowering her gaze slightly, she could see the long shadow of the man who kept a somewhat constant distance of a meter behind her, taking a cue from her pace.
She walked through various pathways that cut through the school campus, among the people who were coming and going. Still, he followed behind her. The good-looking couple inevitably attracted significant attention.
Finally, Tang Qianmiao halted and turned around. From under the baseball cap, the displeasure in her eyes was evident.
“What do you want?”
“Let’s have a meal together.”
The girl flashed him a mischievous grin. It lit up her tiny but pretty face.
“I’m not interested.”
It wasn’t that she didn’t have the time, but rather, she didn’t have the interest. It must have been the first time Feng Xian had been rejected based on such a reason. Hence, finally, his normally nonchalant expression took on a hint of seriousness.
He was no longer merely looking at a girl six years his junior. It was as though he was examining her, even the aura that surrounded him began to exert its presence.
The one thing that a child of 18 or 19 might care for more than wealth, was his or her own emotions. Their world, right at this moment, was dominated by “like” and “dislike”.
At the thought of this, Feng Xian swallowed his words at once and said instead, “I will grant you any request if you arrange for me to meet with Bai Mi.”
When he spoke, his voice was crystal clear, yet faintly gave clue to the surging waves of emotions beneath. One would never have imagined that he was asking a favor of another.
Tang Qianmiao was rendered speechless for a moment by those words he said. She stared at him with her beautiful, peach blossom eyes.
“I’ll give you an answer tomorrow.”
As she shifted her gaze to the large digital display of the clock on top of the teaching tower, she said, “I have things to do, so I’ll take my leave now.”
Having said that, she turned and walked away. After taking a few steps, she turned around again. She looked at him from a distance of about three meters away.
Under the bright sunlight, he was squinting slightly, his handsome face a radiant golden brown.
“How much is your request worth?”
He replied with his clear voice, “That’s for you to decide.”
She nodded slowly without saying another word, then turned and left.
Old Yu walked up to him. “Young Master, that’s a huge compromise.”
Feng Xian looked away from the disappearing back view of the girl. “It’s merely the appetite of a young lady, it won’t be anything substantial.”
Old Yu nodded in agreement. “True. But I’m still surprised by Young Master’s move. Previously, even when we acquired Hong Xing, you didn’t go this far.”
But now on this matter concerning Bai Mi, he was showing too much generosity. Having served the young man for so long, this would have been the first time that Old Yu had witnessed such “generosity” coming from him.
First, he forked out 800 million to show his sincerity in meeting with Bai MI. And now he had made the lass a promise so that he could make that meeting happen.
A promise from the Feng family’s second young master was worth more than gold itself.
It was no surprise that Old Yu was taken aback.
But thinking about it again, Weiss was founded by Feng Xian’s aunt, so it seemed justifiable to go to any length to achieve what was required.
