Heavenly Lord Asura - Chapter 52

The portal was made of voidstone and many other materials, each of which was rare and precious.

The most precious of all was voidstone, the veins of which were rare in Redsun Mountains.

This rock was incredibly tough and unbreakable. It possessed a mysterious dimensional energy. Once refined and used to build a portal, it could traverse space and time.

Wutian and Little Tian had used all their strength, yet they could not even make a scratch on it.

“The portal is solid, Wutian. Except for the powerful ones in the Dynasty period, no one could break it. The portal will only disappear automatically when the time is up,” said Han Tian from not far away.

“We don’t have a whole lot of time here!” Wutian sighed.

Inside the portal, it was all golden light. From this light came a blurry shadow. As it emerged slowly, its body glowed in brilliant colors, glittering like a beautiful diamond.

A terrifying energy gushed out like an ocean tide; mountains and rivers were trembling.

Huoshi was in a state of frenzy. Shrouded in demonic energy, his body was dark-red, which was all blood. He broke out in frenzied laughter. “The great elder has come, Wutian. You shouldn’t have killed Yan. She is the most beloved disciple of the great elder. You are going to die. Not even Heaven could save you.”

“The great elder of the Fire Cloud Clan?” Wutian was stunned.

“Bring Shishi and run, Wutian!” Han Tian sounded uneasy. As a direct disciple of the Yan clan master, he knew the capability of the great elder who was even more powerful than the clan master and the highest existence of the clan.

The one coming was the great elder of the Fire Cloud Clan. He was quietly stunned and hurrying Wutian to flee.

“Run? The great elder is invincible. Even my father has to respect him. Where could you all run? There is nowhere where you go; not in this heaven and earth. You all have to die!” shouted Huoshi.

Wutian had not joined the clan. He had no idea what the big deal was. But judging by Han Tian’s tone of voice, this person must be a terrific powerful one, rivaling the clan master. If he stayed, the only outcome was death.

“Prodigal, bring Shishi up to the Angel’s Peak! Don’t look back, and don’t go to Ironstone.” Wutian instructed.

Angel’s Peak was the mountain where Shishi grew up. He named the place Angels Peak to commemorate their meeting, and because she looked like an angel.

Little Tian cawed, meaning, “What about you?”

“I still have unfinished business here. Huoshi must die.” Wutian’s face looked grave. He gave his instruction and then lunged out in a flash.

Little Tian watched on as he left, its eyes welling up. Probably, this would be the last time it saw him.

But it did not hesitate. It faded into a beam of light as it headed toward the cave. It must make sure Shishi was safe and to complete the mission that Wutian had assigned it.

The buzzing of the portal, the brilliant colors of the shadow, the powerful energy that shook the mountains; all of which seemed to want to break this earth apart.

Wutian got a chill; this energy was unprecedentedly strong and out of his league. Fighting back was going to be futile. He felt too insignificant in front of it.

“Are you scared? But it is too late!” Huoshi continued to laugh in a frenzy, as if he had seen Wutian and Han Tian killed already, their bodies having not a resting place.

“I will make sure you come with me even if I die,” said Wutian in a low voice.

As he approached, he struck out a palm. The blast from his palm blew everything away, dust burying everything. He did not hold back his strength because he wanted to kill Huoshi as quick as he could.

The great elder is coming. Once the guy arrived and he had not killed Huoshi, then all the prior hard work would be in vain.

After fighting the three in a relay battle, Huoshi was suffering from serious trauma. Now that he was being bogged down by Han Tian, he had nowhere to run or fight back. The palm struck him head-on, and he was sent crashing into the ground.

Han Tian glanced at the portal sideways. “Do it now, Wutian! Otherwise, it will be too late.” He hurried anxiously.

In this life and death situation, he had no time to worry about the genius teens inside the cave. If he had to find blame, then it was the fault of those old men in the clan; it seemed to take them ages to come.

The portal shook, and the brilliant-color figure finally emerged. He stood at seven feet tall, brilliant colors surrounding him in a hazy air. Wutian could not make out his face yet. But his energy was definitely terrific.

Blood spurted out of Wutian’s mouth. This man had yet come out of the portal, but the energy that he exuded was already causing grave damage to Wutian’s internal organ.

Han Tian’s heart skipped a beat. Just like Wutian, blood spurted out of his mouth. He looked pale, his body staggering, almost losing his balance.

He suddenly disappeared into thin air; he had fled alone.

This was no joke. Once such a horrible existence came, he could still be killed within fifty miles from it. Only an idiot would stay.

Power of Wind propelled him forward at warp speed. He ran like a bull with its tail on fire. Apparently, he was running with all his might.

“You are going to die, Wutian!”

Huoshi clambered to his feet and roared with laughter. As he spread out his arms, the Soul King quickly reformed, accompanied by the vengeful souls from all directions. Instantly, ghostly howls and cries and evil energy permeated the air.

He wanted to stop Wutian from getting away. Even if he could just delay him by a few breaths, it was good enough.

But Wutian did not flee. Instead, he was filled with a murderous intent. He had been waiting for this moment for too long. Why would he run away? His steps were firm, his punch filled with energy, his palm’s movement soft and finger quick.

He looked as if the soul of war had possessed him, roaming between the asura and hell realm. He was unstoppable. Vengeful souls charging at him were annihilated instantly.

Huoshi’s face was pale as the vengeful souls, and he had become one. The annihilation of the vengeful souls could cause damage to him to some extent. Blood was oozing out of his mouth, his body convulsing, and the Soul King seemed to be crumpling.

Huoshi roared and hit himself in the chest with a palm. He spatted out a few mouthfuls of blood essence, waving his hands to dissolve it. The blood essence formed into a magic seal to shield the Soul King. Black light shot into the air and covered half of the sky.

At the same time, the Soul King rapidly swelled. Its eyes were glowing red like a pair of blood moons. It stank of blood and looked hideous.

“He is coming. He is coming! The great elder is coming!” Huoshi had gone mad. More essence blood spurted out of his mouth. Despite bearing the consequence of being devoured by the Soul King, he still wanted to prevent Wutian from leaving.

As a leg softly stepped out of the portal onto the earth, it triggered an earthquake and a loud rumble. The ground under his feet cracked open, and the crack spread to become a few-thousand-foot-wide abyss.

Wutian got the shock of his life as the dark abyss spread in his direction. He clenched his left hand into a fist, gathering his strength. This strength was not of the essence elixir but Power of Thunder. As a streak of lightning danced, the heavenly retribution arrived, turning the vengeful souls into ashes before they could even cry.

Wutian had triggered the mysterious thing inside his forehead at this critical moment. Power of Thunder appeared, squirming like earthworms onto the God’s Leg Hand. A streak of lightning was all it needed to send fear in the living beings.

Lightning belonged to the unbending ‘yang’ energy, which was a natural counteraction to the ‘ying’ and things of evil. Besides, this was the remnant of the thunder retribution that Lady Jade, Bodhisattva of a Thousand Hands, used to resist Heaven back then. Naturally, it was incredibly terrifying.

The vengeful souls were annihilated at once. A cry of agony came and the Soul King crumpled. It did not return to Huoshi’s body but dissipated in between heaven and earth.

Power of Thunder struck in a blinding lightning. Blood splattered, and a skull landed in Wutian’s hand.

The face on the skull was filled with shock and disbelief and indignation. Its eyes and mouth wide open.

Huoshi was dead. He must have never expected to lose so quickly, so completely.

The lightning danced and disappeared back into Wutian’s forehead.

He had no time to study what it was. Grabbing the Mustard Pouch that he got from the headless corpse and the skull that filled with regret, Wutian ran as fast as he could.

“Don’t you think of running!”

A hoarse voice came, filled with dignity and power. Next, an overpowering, suppressive energy came. His movement suddenly stopped. He found himself frozen in place.
