Heavenly Lord Asura - Chapter 47

Enslaving the vengeful souls as a weapon was an extremely vicious technique.

The vengeful cries of the countless vengeful souls filled the place.

Wutian unknowingly fell into their emotions. He saw cruel and bloody scenes.

“The heinous crimes of yours are beyond redemption!”

Hushi’s words did not stir up any emotions in him. Death was the only reward for a person like Huoshi.

A punch struck out, but it felt as if punching the air with ripples expanding in all directions. His clothes fluttered in the windless air, same to his hair. It was as if the God of War had returned; the vengeful souls cried and turned into black mists before dissipating into thin air.

“They will not disappear unless I die.”

Huoshi drew in the air with his hands, and those dissipated ghostly faces reformed. They looked more hideous, their cries even more heart wrenching and sadder.

They fell like a long belt of a galaxy. But this ‘galaxy’ was black, made up of countless ghostly faces, coming with full viciousness. The place was a hell on earth was no exaggeration.

“Then I will do you a favor by killing you, setting these vengeful souls free.”

Wutian was expressionless. He struck with his hand, and a sort of mild power engulfed everything like a storm. He made his move by lunging forward and performing a sidekick, sending sand and rock flying and bending grass and trees.

Huoshi moved his fingers in the air, gathering the black mist to form a shield in front of him. Just like the mist, the shield was black. It was solid and possessed a powerful energy. Wutian’s kick struck the shield with a boom. He was shocked beyond word as it felt like he had hit an iron rock, feeling a numbness on his leg.

Bear in mind how powerful Wutian was; he could break the earth open with his leg. Yet that shield had not only stopped his attack but also rebound the force back at him.

Wutian was forced back dozens of feet, his face grave. He knew that this was no ordinary technique but made up of vengeful souls, which carried a strong hatred and grievance before they died and turned into their source of power—a horrible killer move.

Black mist engulfed him like a wall, blocking his vision. All Wutian could see was black mist and those countless ghostly faces. The outside world seemed to have vanished.

He felt as if he was in hell, the abyss where there was no light but darkness.

“This Ghastly Ghost Formation blocks off all communication. You are going to die today!” A heinous laughter rose inside the black mist.

Contorted ghostly faces filled with endless hatred lunged out from the surging black mist. Wutian looked grim. He struck with his finger and an energy shot out. The vengeful souls cried and dissolved.

But when the finger energy hit the black mist, it disappeared—devoured to be exact.

“It’s useless. Ghastly Ghost Formation can not only block off communication but also absorb all energies. No matter how hard you try to attack, it is not going to work.” Huoshi’s voice came again. He was elusive. Not a shadow of him was spotted.

As soon as his voice trailed off, those dissolved vengeful souls quickly reformed and cried like the ghosts. They had never disappeared from the beginning; they waited and reappeared to attack.

Wutian did not flinch. Instead, he performed a punch from above. The energy from the punch was so powerful that the ghostly faces turned into black mist and dissipated before they could even approach. He was not afraid to fight a protracted battle because he had endless physical energy.

Boom!

A turmoil appeared in the black mist like a ripple. Every attack was neutralized and a horrible rebound force shot out. Wutian was forced back, soil splashing and sparks flying, carving out a gully under his feet.

His face stiffened. He saw countless vengeful souls open their mouth and devour all his attacks when he had contact with the black mist just now.

“It’s not going to work. You are going to die. Not even Heaven can save you now.” Huoshi’s laughter came from the black mist.

Wutian expanded his perception to look for cover. But this black mist looked like it could devour everything. As soon as he extended his perception, it disappeared and he could perceive nothing.

“Of all the things in the world, only energy is indestructible. I can only say that I am still not strong enough. But today, I will let you know what the Ninety-nine Ultimate Realm can do!”

Ninety-nine Ultimate Realm burst out of his body with a loud boom. A massive storm appeared to surround him. The earth started to shake, mountains cracking open, trees and all vegetation fell. The entire place went into a destruction in just the blink of an eye.

The earth shook violently with a loud rumble as a super-wide with unknown-depth fissure cracked open and rapidly spread. Red-hot lava spurted into the air, turning the half of the sky red.

The place turned into a sea of fire, vegetation catching fire before being reduced to ashes. Rocks melted to join the lava. Smoke covered the entire sky, blocking out the sun. It was the scene of a doomsday scenario.

Fire consumed everything within a five-mile radius. Nothing could stop it.

Just the energy released had brought such a horrible destruction.

“This sort of power… he has achieved the ultimate realm, the incarnation of the son of Heaven.” Zhao He and others were all stunned. They moved like a flash to avoid the surging lava and stood on the higher ground to watch things unfold in front of their eyes.

Legend had it that the Ninety-nine Ultimate Realm was unbeatable, an attainment only achievable with the blessing of Heaven. In this day and age, no one had ever done that.

Anyone who made it to this level must have found favor with Heaven and be revered by the world. It was an impassable barrier that had stopped countless genius youngsters from attaining the ultimate.

The same thing happened to Elder Wu. His jaw dropped to the ground. The appearance of the Son of Heaven would set off a storm in Greendragon.

He had a solid cultivation base. He fought with Little Tian for a few hundred rounds without breaking a sweat. But when he saw what happened in front of him, he felt as if there were a thousand horses overrunning him inside him, his face pale.

All this came from his aptitude since young. At only Reborn Beta stage, he had achieved the ultimate realm of his strength. When he grew up, he would be unimaginably powerful and might become the leader of a sect.

They had inflamed a horrible enemy.

Boom!

Basically, Wutian had done nothing except for releasing his brutal energy. Those ghostly faces cried and fled in all directions. But still, they could not get away. One by one, they faded into black mist, then ashes.

At the same time, the black veil started to crack, then the crack rapidly spread in the pattern of a spider web.

“So what if you are the Son of Heaven?”

Huoshi roared inside the black mist, his face hideous. He suddenly struck himself in the chest. Blood spurted out of his mouth instantly. The blood was redder than red and suspended in the air, illuminating him blood-red.

This was his blood essence.

He waved his hands and the blood essence dissolved. A blood-red magic seal exuding an evil energy formed. As if a tornado had come, the black mist billowed and quickly turned into a red mist with a strong blood stink.

The cries and howls of the ghostly faces resounded in the air as if they had been injected with chicken blood.

In Wutian’s vision, those ghostly faces swelled. Each of them was as large as ten-foot-wide, face black but eyes blood-red. Their mouths wide open, revealing rows of teeth that looked like blood diamonds. They were translucent and emanating an evil energy.

Grief and hatred were so intense that it was as if rolling waves pounded the shore, and as if the galloping of a thousand horses. Wutian shuddered, a buzz resounding in his mind. He felt light-headed and an urge to sleep.

His heart skipped a beat. A streak of blood flowed out of the corner of his mouth as he bit his tongue to make himself stay awake. An endless power billowed inside him as if a stormy sea. The earth shook and mountains tumbled. Cracks formed in the earth and spread miles and miles long.

His power was too strong. The Ninety-nine Ultimate Realm had never appeared for the past one hundred years. That was how difficult this realm was to achieve.

At last, the black veil broke apart with a boom and dissipated from heaven and earth. Visions appeared; there was devastation, dilapidation and tragedies.

“I have not lost yet!” Huoshi’s hair was a mess, face contorted as he waved his hands, trying to gather the black mist again to take control of the place.

But Wutian just sneered and said nothing. He walked like a dragon and ran like a tiger. Riding on the crest of the heat waves, he struck with his palm with overpowering energy. The black mist that Hushi had just gathered suddenly dissipated completely.

Elder Wu was shocked. He dodged Little Tian’s attack, stepped on the fire and came like a whirlwind to stand in front of Huoshi. His essence shot out as he struck a punch.

The strength of the Meridian Growth-period great cultivator was too terrific. Blood spurted out of Wutian’s mouth, and he was forced to fall back. The flesh on his hands cracked open, exposing his bones. His blood oozed out uncontrollably and flowed down to the lava lake before being vaporized.

Elder Wu grabbed Huoshi with one hand, then moved over and grabbed Liuyan in another. His vital energy of Essence shot out under his legs and propelled him up to the peak of a mountain.

“Let your hand off me!” Huoshi was furious. Beaten by someone he had looked down upon, he felt indignant and wanted to redeem his ego.

The one he would never set his eyes upon had now improved to a level beyond his reach. The most humiliating thing was, he could not even fight back.

“Young Clan Master, since things have come to such a pass, you must not act on impulse. Right now, Zhao He and his son are having two minds. I don’t think they will help us. We can only depend on ourselves. I will kill the three myself. If anything happened, summoned the great elder immediately.”

Surrounded by essence energy, he rapidly descended and landed over the fire.

Little Tian and Wutian were standing side by side, their eyes grave. Wutian knew that this man was in a different league altogether. He knew because he just needed to look at how bad Little Tian’s injury was; mutilated, losing blood, and missing a few of its teeth.

“Not half bad! You are almost peerless among the youngsters in Greendragon. Given time, you would rise to become an overlord of a continent. But I won’t let you have that opportunity.”

Elder Wu was nonchalant when he spoke, but the murderous look in his eyes was apparent. He was going to kill them.

Huoshi hissed. Black mist still rose from his body, his eyes looking like a pair of black holes. He stared at Wutian and could not wait to kill him; yet when he saw the girl beside him, his eyes were filled with gentleness and love.

“Whatever it takes, Yan, I am going to find the best cure for you,” said Huoshi.

Liuyan’s face was white with bloodstain on the corner of her mouth. The vital energy of Essence gushed out of her abdomen. The excruciating pain was killing her. But she still had a smile on her face—a smile of contentment and happiness.

She had been having a crush on him for many years and staying by his side to protect him. She was happy now because finally, her dream had come true. She even forgot that she was in pain.

“Huoshi, why do that? When the demonic manual reverses, you won’t be able to return to the past. Am I worth you taking the risk?”

She extended her hand to stroke his face. Her action was gentle, and her eyes were filled with nothing but love.

“You silly girl. It was I who had neglected you in the past. Now I know how important you are to me. I can live without father but not you,” said Huoshi with a smile.

Liuyan finally cried. They plunged into each other’s arms, listened to each other’s heartbeat, and felt each other’s warmth. There was love in the air.
