Heavenly Lord Asura - Chapter 42

After Little Tian turned silver, its strength had increased tremendously with the shadow of the Meridian’s Growth period. Its two rows of teeth could bite into anything.

Cold sweat popped up on Han Tian’s forehead. He did not want to mess with Little Tian. “The Zhao family isn’t as simple as you think. It is said that Zhao He’s father, the head of the Zhao family, achieved Meridian’s Growth a year ago. I am afraid that we can’t fight him with only a few of us. We had better wait for my clan elders before doing anything.”

Little Tian cawed, eyes glinting. Apparently, it was not too convinced.

“I know you all aren’t afraid. But this is the Zhaos’ territory. They are above the law. Besides, the entire Greendragon subcontinent knows about you now, I am afraid. If you act recklessly, you are going to blow our cover, Elder Wu from Mount Scorpius and the influential Zhaos will come after you. By then, nothing could save you,” said Han Tian.

Little Tian looked down, putting its claw to its chin in thoughts.

“But how could you knock him out? You are a bad guy.” Shishi glared at him, eyes welling up.

“You think I have wanted to do this? It’s not like you don’t know your elder brother’s character. Once he made up his mind, no one could dissuade him. I really couldn’t think of any other way! Besides, if he goes into a confrontation with the Zhaos, it is easy for him and Little Thing to escape. But what about you? You would only be a burden for them, slowing them down,” said Han Tian, almost pleading.

Shishi pressed her lips together. “It is none of your business. Bad guy!”

“I’m a bad guy? I did everything for the good of all of you. How ungrateful!”

Little Tian finally looked up at him, basically meaning “What are we going to do?”

“Let us first go back in and we will discuss.” Han Tian smiled. He carried Wutian on his back and headed back to the house.

“What makes you think I am a burden to Wutian, big guy?” Shishi was disgruntled as she followed from behind. Little Tian licked her pinky face, meaning “Don’t think too much. You are always my little sister, not a burden.”

Shishi glared at Little Tian. “Who told you I am your little sister, Little Thing? You should have called me Big Sister, understand?”

“Caw, caw!”

“Were they not going to confront the Zhaos? How come they come back so quick?” Those rubberneckers were puzzled.

The girl in a yellow dress was perplexed. “How come that stinky hooligan has fainted? Could the Zhao family head have slapped him and knocked him out?”

“How could that be? It is not like you don’t know Zhao He’s strength. He slapped Guyu and knocked him out? You are kidding me.” The young man in a white suit rebutted. The wound in his hand has not healed, which showed how badass Wutian was.

“Sigh, I thought there would be a drama. But it ended so quickly. Mates, let’s go back and continue our cultivation.”

Everyone returned to their respective houses.

Inside the Ninth Heaven House.

Wutian lay on the bed, his face ruddy, breathing smooth. He was all right. The only thing was that there was a bump, the size of a baby’s fist and full of capillaries, on his forehead.

Shishi was still indignant. This bad guy has hit him too hard. There is a bump on his head now. So ugly. How is he going to look for a wife next time?

“Let him sleep for now lest he will get into trouble. We can’t just call it a day like this. We must be seen to have done something, at least,” said Han Tian after a while of silence. “If you have time, Little Thing, go make some noise at the frontcourt of Zhao’s residence. But don’t overdo it; play it just right.”

Little Tian’s eye lit up and nodded quickly. It then stared at Han Tian with a strange look in its eyes.

“Is there something on me?” Han Tian checked his body in puzzlement.

Still staring at Han Tian, Little Tian’s lips curled up in an evil smile as it pointed at the bump on Wutian’s head, meaning, “You will be finished when Wutian wakes up.”

Han Tian’s face looked green, almost wanting to slap himself on the face. Why did he not think of the consequence when he did this? He had screwed up now. Wutian would kill him when he woke up.

“This is Dreamy Grass and Rejuvenation Grass. Remember to feed him once every seven days.”

His face twitched and forced a smile. After giving a few instructions and leaving behind a bottle of pills and a dozen herbs, he ran out as if his butt was on fire. He needed to consider how he was going to face Wutian’s wrath and be prepared.

Dreamy Grass was light green in color, about the size of a soybean. Its scent had a sedative effect. Meanwhile, Rejuvenation Grass was as large as a thumb. Its tiny, dark-green leaves glowed and had strong efficacy.

Little Tian handed the two things to Shishi, then jumped out from the terrace, and headed to the front courtyard of Zhao’s residence.

Not long after, a loud rumble was heard coming from the frontcourt. Little Tian was standing like a demonic king, looking down from a massive, ancient tree, the trunk of which was so large that not even ten people could fully wrap their arms around it.

“Who is it?” A forceful voice demanded. It was a middle-aged man, dressed in black, nine feet tall, face rugged. His bronzed skin was lustrous, possessing endless energy.

This man was none other than Zhao He, the head of the Zhao family. Behind him stood several men, also middle-aged, dressed in white and all exuding a powerful aura.

“Caw, caw!” Little Tian cawed, pointing down as if it was scolding someone.

“How dare a Demon Toad trespass the Zhaos’ residence! Take it down!” Seeing a Demon Toad standing with its nose pointing skyward on the tree, Zhao He got furious and ordered his men to capture the creature.

A few men in white, face dark, billowing essence qi, stepped out and on the branches to get to the top of the tree.

Little Tian grinned, clapping with its claws, then jumped over onto another ancient tree. Meanwhile, the ancient tree that it was standing just a second ago cracked in the middle and vertically broke into several chunks with smooth cut sections as if an ax had chopped down from above.

Creaaak!

The giant tree fell with a loud rumble, crashing into and damaging a few buildings. Dust flew up in the air and blocked out the sky. Those who could not react on time were crushed, some dead, some injured. Cries of agony rose.

Bang!

Without something to step on, those men in white lost their balance and fell to the ground, leaving a few ten-foot-wide holes in the ground. They all spurted blood from their mouths, their faces pale.

“Caw, caw!” Little Tian jumped up and down as if mocking them. Those few men in white were outraged and spurting another mouthful of blood.

“A Demon Toad mutant? Is this his divine pet?” Zhao He knew how extraordinary this creature was and associated it with what his son had told him earlier. He was wondering who the person was.

“How dare a beast come to come looking for trouble!” Zhao He looked grave. With the wave of his hand, a loud shrill came from a distance, then a giant black bird appeared in the field of vision. Its wings when fully expanded was thirty feet wide, casting an enormous shadow on the earth.

It was an Ophislin Condor. It had the head of a qilin, hideous and horrible; the body of a condor, the rectrices of which were tough and sharp; and the tail of a viper, the glistening scales of which were as large as a palm.

It was said that this vicious bird was a mutant of qilin, condor and viper, possessing the bloodlines of three beasts. But it was not pure, and its strength was only of the Omega stage. It swooped down and landed beside Zhao He. It snuggled his gigantic head up against Zhao He; they seemed to be very close.

Zhao He patted the condor, then jumped onto its back. He then pointed at Little Tian on the tree. “Up!”

The condor shrilled and lifted off into the sky in a menacing manner.

“Caw, caw!” Little Tian put its claw on his face and looked at it sideways. This angered the Ophislin Condor. It might not be as good as its ancestor, but it possessed a noble bloodline. How dare a demonic beast belittle it! let alone a lowly Demon Toad.

“Be careful. This beast is not any ordinary beast,” warned Zhao He.

The Ophislin Condor did not listen. Rectrices on its body came off and drifted in front of it. The condor then roared, shooting out fire from its mouth. The rectrices turned red and shot out like red-hot arrows.

The rectrices approached in just the blink of an eye. But Little Tian did not dodge. It stood there calmly, even though its surroundings were engulfed in heat and fire.

The Ophislin Condor looked on triumphantly. But when everything returned to normal, it was wide-eyed and nearly lost its balance and fell.

When the condor saw Little Tian still standing in its earlier posture: claw on the nose and looking in disdain. The rectrices did not manage to hurt it. Even the ancient tree under its feet was unaffected.

The Ophislin Condor was enraged with a sense of shock in its eyes. The flaming rectrix had never missed its target. It had killed an immeasurable number of enemies. But this time it had failed. The condor could not believe what had just happened. It shook its body and this time, even more rectrices came off as it wanted to launch another attack.

Just then, Little Tian moved. Its body glowed in a silverish light as it flew into the air.

The ancient tree under its feet cracked, broke in in half in the middle, then crashed down with a loud rumble. The few men in white were shocked and quickly retreated. This fallen tree crashed into and damaged a few more buildings again. It was a scene of a disaster.

“How dare you, beast!” Zhao He was outraged, eyes bloodshot. He struck with a punch.

Little Tian shook its head, meaning “It’s a child’s play.”

It used its little claw and met his punch.

Boom!

A bright silverish sun rose into the sky, blocking out the sun. Horrible energy burst out from between the two, sweeping away the ancient trees, buildings, and everything else in its path.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Zhao He and the Ophislin Condor fell out of the sky and crashed to the ground like meteorites. Blood spurted out of their mouths instantly, their faces pale. Meanwhile, the Demon Toad, which was only the size of a palm, landed on a tree. By the looks of it, it was unscathed.

People of the Zhao family were shocked. Was this really a Demon Toad? Did this continent have such a powerful Demon Toad? They suspected that the world must have changed. How did a bush-league Demon Toad defeat an Omega-stage cultivator? Not to mention there was the Omega-stage Ophislin Condor. Things had become ridiculous.
