Granting You Deep Feelings, May You Treasure It - Chapter 46

The wound on Su Bei’s heart was once again torn apart. She craned her head and looked at Liang Xinchen. “Mr. Governor…”

“Can you stop calling me that?” Liang Xinchen bellowed.

Su Bei took a deep breath. “Young Master Liang, it has been six years. You’re now a governor of a city. But why haven’t you made any improvements?”

Liang Xinchen glared at her with eyes burning with rage. She had forced him into a corner and his teeth were gritting because of it. “You ruined the most beautiful relationship of my life. Do you know that?”

Su Bei replied with an impassive voice, “I’m sorry!”

“Su Jin, do you think I’ll still treat you like a friend just like before? If you’re thinking of taking advantage of me, your plan will fail.”

There was slight contempt conveyed in the corner of his lips. “I’m only disgusted with you now!” He spoke each word clearly.

There was a weak smile on her pale lips when she looked into the man’s eyes with her dark ones. “Su Jin was already dead six years ago. Please call me Su Bei if we run into each other again.”

Her gaze was determined, and her voice was peaceful. “I didn’t know you were the governor even though I knew your name. I’ve forgotten about you!”

After she finished her speech, she pushed his arm away and walked out of his grip. She clasped the door handle and continued with a cold voice, “My dad served the country whole-heartedly for his entire life as a policeman. In the end, he was accused of being a drug dealer. His death was unjust. I’d appreciate it if you can look into the investigation and vindicate my dad. Apart from that, I’ll not pay any price for it. It is your responsibility to help the citizens! If you turn a blind eye on this because of your prejudice against me, then I have nothing to say. But I’ll never give up!”

As soon as she finished, she opened the door and stepped out.

The man stared at the departing figure with sharp radiance in his eyes.

The time she spent in prison did not shape her into a humble person. Instead, the thorns had gotten her even sharper.

Su Bei walked out of the governor’s office with a heavy heart.

She did not know what Liang Xinchen would do even though she trusted Liang Xinchen’s character.

But she was no longer the same person she was six years ago. How could she expect others to remain the same?

That year, her father went undercover with a drug case. To conceal their identities, she was sent to a school for noble families where she met Zuo Xiao and Liang Xinchen.

Subsequently, she got together with Zuo Xiao while Liang Xinchen and her best friend, Chen Yanan, were an item.

The four of them were very close during those years.

However, the years went by, and everything changed.

Nothing remained the same!

Su Bei felt pain in her abdomen. Perhaps she got a cold after kneeling on the ground for so long.

The secretary told her that the governor had sent Yao Guizhen back home.

Su Bei felt relieved all of a sudden.

She was looking really unwell, and she did not want her mother to find out.

After she stepped out of the provincial government office, Su Bei’s face was already as pale as a sheet. Beads of cold sweat were breaking from her forehead.

She supported herself against a wall and did not dare to move forward.

Is she going to lose her baby?

Is this a miscarriage?

This is probably good news. She had thought of this many times, and even the baby is finally giving up as well?

He would not want a mother who did not love him.

There was something warm streaming down from her thigh. Her abdomen was squeezing together, and she was about to blackout.

It’s really a miscarriage this time!

This thought remained in her head. But strangely, she was not as happy as she had imagined she would be.

When she was about to hit the ground, she was caught by a warm body.

She forced herself to turn around before she saw a refined and handsome face.

Hua Jinan carried her and walked to the car. As he held her in his arms, he said, “Fret not! You’ll be fine!”
