From Ant to Demon God of the Abyss - Chapter 34

Bates could not wait to open his second panel. A gene that he had never obtained before, appeared before all the other gene points!

Giant Dragon Gene: 1

“So, they really do have the blood of a dragon! But the bloodline of this dragon is too weak, and only one point out of 300 contained the giant dragon gene.”

Looking at the giant dragon gene that appeared on his second panel, Bates was both surprised and sad. The appearance of the dragon gene was a huge surprise to Bates, but it was such a small amount, it felt like he was being forced to look at an expensive toy in a shop window, but he could only look and not have it.

Giant dragons were a legendary race. They were born at the peak of the game world. It could be said that every adult dragon had the strength of a legendary boss.

If he could obtain enough dragon genes to transform into the dragon race during his next evolution, he would choose to transform without hesitation!

However, Bates knew this was only a fantasy. He knew that if he wanted to transform into the dragon race, he would need 1,000 or even 10,000 dragon genes. Such a huge amount of dragon genes would probably require him to kill quite a few adult giant dragons.

However, when he had the ability to hunt giant dragons, he wouldn’t need to become a species that could already be hunted by him?

Nevertheless, this did not mean that the giant dragon genes were useless to Bates.

On the contrary, the giant dragon gene was still an extremely precious resource for Bates. Every time he evolved, he would invest these gene points to strengthen his main body. By doing this, Bates would still possess certain characteristics of the dragon race, greatly increasing his strength!

The strength of a dragon gene was obvious when observing the venomous dragons. One-third of the bloodline concentration was enough to allow them to surpass the swamp murloc. Only, a few dozen of them occupied one-fourth of the poisonous swamp, and they still had no natural enemies.

If Bates could gather enough dragon genes and invest them into his next evolution, his strength would definitely increase greatly!

“Just another reason to kill the venomous dragons!” Bates said, as he smiled and devoured the corpse of the other dragon. Then, he summoned the insect magic spear and charged towards the dragon’s lair at the fastest speed possible!

The best way to deal with a boss-level venomous dragon, with a lord-tier template, was to trap it in its nest!

Without the ability to fly, the dragon would pose less of a threat to Bates!

A normal venomous dragon could drop only one giant dragon gene, while an elite venomous dragon might drop two. Following this rule, two boss-tier venomous dragons could drop at least 10 dragon gene points!

Using full speed, Bates crossed a distance of 100 meters in an instant, and appeared at the entrance of the lair.

Completely ignoring the dozen or so angry ordinary dragons, Bates charged straight into the depths of the lair! Bates knew that the boss-tier dragon was inside, as he could feel a faint pressure coming from within.

A loud roar rang out!

When Bates charged into the lair, a huge head poked out.

Dark green pupils revealed an angry expression, as they looked at Bates. A huge mouth full of sharp teeth opened; this was one of the boss-tier venomous dragons!

Looking at the huge head, Bates knew that this was one of his targets.

Bates did not hesitate. The moment he entered the lair, he activated his skills.

“Bloodthirsty Warrior!”

The insect magic spear instantly turned into a ray of black light, and with super speed, he stabbed it into one of the dragon’s eyes. Green liquid splashed everywhere, as a terrifying scream sounded out.

The dragon swung its claws in pain, and sent Bates flying. It was as if a train had hit its body. He’d become embedded into the stone wall at the entrance of the lair, knocking down a large amount of rubble.

Bates jumped down from the stone wall, looking at the three additional scratches on his body. He smiled and said, “Be angry! As long as you don’t rush out of this cave, I’ll play with you forever!”

The boss dragon then blew green, highly toxic breath towards Bates. If other monsters were present, the venomous breath alone would have taken half their health. However, as Bates had acquired high-level poison resistance, it didn’t harm him as much as the hit did!

The green venom fell to the ground, corroding the rocks into small pits.

Bates’ figure turned into a black light again, appearing above the dragon. He raised his spear high in the air and stabbed downwards ferociously! This time, his target was the other eye!

Having already suffered a loss, the venomous dragon boss didn’t dare to underestimate Bates anymore. The tiny creature clearly had the ability to threaten it.

As it saw the spear fly towards it once again, the dragon boss let out a terrified roar and dodged it. It missed the other eye, but instead, the spear had pierced deep into its nostril.

The dragon felt a sharp pain as it flew out of the lair. It was an intelligent creature, and knew where its weakness lay. If it continued to struggle in the lair, it would only end up dead!

Only by leaving the lair and using his advantage as a flying dragon, he could turn the tables and kill the despicable creature that ambushed him!

“Trying to escape? It’s not that simple!” Bates exclaimed, as he dodged the charge from the dragon, and jumped on its back with a light leap!

The sharp edge of the spear pierced into the back of the dragon, leaving a deep wound.

Bates grabbed onto one of the exposed bones, attaching his body onto the back of the dragons!

A painful roar echoed throughout the entire swamp!
