A level 18 murloc ranger possessed extremely high agility and strength bonuses. In terms of combat power, it was much stronger than a goblin guard.
However, to Bates, the murloc ranger wasn’t a problem.
When the group of swamp murlocs appeared, Bates activated his maximum speed and rushed into the group of murlocs before they could react.
Then he drew the insect magic spear, and more than ten murlocs were decapitated as their bodies fell to the ground.
After stacking the murlocs’ bodies on the ground and swallowing them with the insect magic spear, Bates continued to lead the worker ants towards the direction where the murlocs were coming from.
An hour later, Bates and the worker ants encountered a third group of swamp murlocs, but this time, more advanced murlocs appeared.
Two hours later, they encountered the fourth group of murlocs, and for the first time, an elite monster appeared; a level 20 murloc spellcaster. The murloc spellcaster, who mainly used poison and ice spells, was unable to deal any damage towards Bates. In a matter of seconds, the murloc spellcaster’s head was chopped off, turning into Bates’ experience and evolution points.
After half a day of following the direction from where groups of swamp murlocs had appeared, Bates finally found his target.
A sparse forest appeared in the swamp, and in the middle, there were hundreds of simple wooden houses.
Each wooden house was built around some trees. Although it was a little strange, compared to the dilapidated tents of the goblin race, these wooden houses looked fairly normal.
There were hundreds of them, housing thousands of swamp murlocs. In the middle of the houses was the murloc lord, the king of the swamp murlocs!
A level 25 boss murloc lord, surrounded by three warrior-tier murloc rangers (level 22), more than 30 murloc elites (level 20), and hundreds of advanced murlocs.
The swamp murlocs were not weak, but their potential was still inferior compared to the gold-eating ants.
Bates asked the worker ants to wait in a hidden place nearby. He used the shadows cast by the trees to sneak towards the murloc lord.
In the center of the swamp, in front of the largest wooden house, the murloc lord was throwing a tantrum.
A series of obscure words came from the murloc lord, who was yelling at some elite and advanced murlocs. Then, the two (now terrified) elite murlocs, and more than twenty advanced murlocs, quickly packed up their weapons and set off in the direction where Bates and the worker ants had come.
It was obvious that Bates’ massacre had caused a stir in the murloc village, making the murloc lord furious.
After the two elite murlocs, and more than twenty advanced murlocs left, the protection around the murloc lord weakened a little.
Despite the murlocs that were left, being very powerful, Bates did not care at all.
During the goblin battle, Bates’d had to lure each goblin individually before ambushing and killing them. Now, Bates did not need to.
After five evolutions and several upgrades to his attribute template, he was now facing a level 25 murloc lord, and had the strength to fight head-on!
Relying on the shadows cast by the trees and the houses, Bates concealed himself and quickly approached the murloc lord.
The passive skill [ shadow ambush ] was still in effect, so from the edge of the murloc territory, to the largest wooden house, not a single murloc had noticed him.
When Bates was only about ten meters away from the murloc lord, he shouted, “Shadow Ambush!”
In a second, his speed was doubled!
His tall figure, with the insect magic spear, jumped out from the back of the wooden house and flew towards the murloc lord at a fast speed!
“Enemy! Protect the lord!” cried the other murlocs, who were even more cautious than the goblins.
A warrior-level murloc ranger had seen Bates jump out, and had blocked him from the murloc lord.
The murloc ranger, who was nearly three meters tall, was even stronger than expected.
He wore simple armor made of colorful coral, and held a huge rusty iron anchor in his hand. Bates seemed tiny compared to the huge body of the ranger.
Bates’ sneak attack had failed! However, instead of feeling panicked, Bates smiled. Instead, of slowing down, he sped up! The insect magic spear in his hand swung in the air like a sledgehammer, smashing towards the murloc ranger!
“Bloodthirsty Warrior!”
The double agility bonus of the shadow assault (strength x 5), coupled with the 50% physical damage bonus, and the 45 attack speed bonus of the bloodthirsty warrior, made Bates’ attack power immense!
A dull explosion sounded, and countless pieces of flesh and blood exploded into the air!
“Ding! You have killed the murloc ranger. Obtained 3,500 experience points.”
With just one attack, not only did Bates kill the murloc ranger, but had completely obliterated its huge body, causing thick coral armor to shatter everywhere!
Bates continued to get closer to the murloc lord.
“Ice Shield!”
“Ice Arrow!”
“Frost Star!”
“Poison Spell!”
“Corrosion spell!”
The murloc lord, and the remaining swamp murlocs, finally reacted.
The remaining two murloc rangers quickly pounced on Bates. The elite murloc spellcasters hurriedly cast one spell after another, locking onto Bates.
The murloc lord immediately cast a layer of ice shield on himself, but it was too late!
Countless spells bombarded Bates’ body, but he did not care at all. He jumped and in mid-air, charged forward, and appeared in front of the murloc lord!
Before the lord could cast his second spell, the insect magic spear struck down ferociously, like Zeus’ lightning! The sharp blade directly pierced the ice shield, and a crisp piercing sound rang out, and it instantly shattered!
Under the horrified gaze of the murloc lord, Bates once again brandished his insect magic spear.
A ferocious black light streaked across the sky, and a huge head flew up, falling dozens of meters away!
“Ding! You have killed the murloc lord. Obtained 15,000 experience points. Obtained 5 soul points.”
“Ding! You have killed the murloc lord. The murloc lord has a lord attribute template. You have obtained the attribute template of the murloc lord.”
When the system notification sounded, Bates continued to avoid attacks from two murloc rangers. He picked up the corpse of the murloc lord, and the few pieces of equipment it dropped, and threw them into his virtual backpack.
Then, he jumped up and escaped the encirclement of murlocs, quickly disappearing into the sparse forest.
Now that he had obtained the lord template, there was no need for him to continue wasting his time here.
The remaining two murloc rangers, and the large number of elite and advanced murlocs, could be used as a training ground for the gold-eating ant tribe. He was in no hurry to kill them.
The next target was the venomous flying dragons!
