“No way. I have to do something. Can you come out now? Can I take a leave right now?” She had settled all the work she needed to this morning. If she had had nothing to do until then, she would get even more agitated. So, it was better for her to leave work now.
“Sure.” He was the boss. There was nothing he could not do.
As she met him, she could not help but say, “Please do not surprise me like this ever again!”
“Alright.” Pei Xiuyuan looked at her. She was angry. But her anger made him happy because the angrier and more anxious she was, it meant the more she wanted to give a good first impression to his grandmother. She was taking their marriage very seriously.
Lu Man looked at him helplessly. He always behaved himself and listened to her after teasing her and driving her crazy. So she could not even find a good reason to be angry at him!
“Now, tell me precisely how many people there are in your family.” She wanted to ensure that there would not be any more people appearing in front of her and scaring the soul out of her body!
“Me, Yunxi, Xiao Chen, Grandmother, and you,” he replied.
“What does your grandmother like?” She did not care about Wang Yunxi because she knew that they would never get along. As for Xiao Chen, she could not do anything about him yet since he hated her for now. So, at the very least, she wanted to make a good impression on his grandmother tonight.
“Get into the car, then I will tell you.”
“Okay.”
Pei Xiuyuan briefed Lu Man on the old lady’s preferences in the car. He even told her what was considered a taboo to his grandmother. They bought some presents and headed to Pei Old Manor. When they were about to get there, Pei Xiuyuan spoke. “My grandmother was a little unhappy that we have gotten married so fast without telling her. So she might say something not so nice when we meet her. But it is alright, you do not have to take her words seriously. Just pretend to not hear them.”
He was preparing her mind for it before it really came.
“Okay.” Lu Man had already mentally prepared herself for this.
She knew that his family would probably reject her in the first place if they knew that he wanted to marry her. And now that they had gotten married without prior notice, his family would be furious about this, especially the elders in the family! It was understandable that his grandmother would be very angry about it, so it was only natural that she would not like her.
At the old manor, Wang Yunxi and Pei Zichen were making the final preparations for Lu Man’s arrival.
They planned to embarrass Lu Man today so that Grandmother would dislike her. Then, she would be their ally in chasing her out of the family!
When everything was ready, Pei Zichen looked at Mu Yunhai intensely. Mu Yunhai wanted to ignore him but failed.
“Xiao Chen, what’s wrong?”
“I have something to ask you, Uncle.” Pei Zichen still could not understand what he saw the other day.
“What is it?”
“Do you always work out before you sleep?”
“Yes, I will do a few rounds of push-ups.”
Pei Zichen tilted his head and thought hard. Yeah, right. His father’s posture did look like he was doing push-ups.
“Then, will you do it naked and with Aunt Yunxi below you?” This was what he could not understand the most. He did not understand why his father would do push-ups on top of that evil lady, and why was he naked. Was it because he felt hot? He should not be totally naked even if he was hot!
Mu Yunhai was flustered and felt awkward. This silly boy! Did he even know what he was asking?
Wang Yunxi was stunned. “You little naughty boy! Why are you even asking this kind of question?”
Pei Zichen was confused. He frowned. “What do you mean by ‘this kind of question’? What is wrong with my question? Why did you say I am a naughty boy?”
“Aren’t you a naughty boy when you ask this kind of question?”
“Why am I a naughty boy when I ask this question?”
Wang Yunxi looked at him. She felt helpless as she was unable to explain the matter at hand to him. “Then tell me, what has made you ask this kind of question?”
“I saw my dad doing it yesterday night. And the evil lady was lying below him. I am asking this because I do not know what he was doing!” Pei Zichen even tried to imitate his father’s actions when he said this.
“What did you see yesterday?” Wang Yunxi screamed. What was he doing? Letting a child see it!
Mu Yunhai felt awful when he heard this!
Although he knew they had slept together, he still felt very sick when he heard this! It was unbearable!
Manman! His beloved Manman!
When he thought about Pei Xiuyuan lying on top of her, he felt so angry that he could kill someone!
“Aunt, you are too loud.” Pei Zichen covered his ears. He was annoyed by his aunt’s exaggerated reaction.

“You just stood there and looked at them when they did it? Are you stupid? How could you watch that kind of thing? Aren’t you scared that you will get eye sores?” Wang Yunxi asked. She could not believe that his brother would be this shameless after being together with that woman!
“What were you thinking, Aunt? My dad was just working out on the bed. What is wrong if I had a little peep? How could that be stupid?” Pei Zichen thought that he could not communicate with his aunt anymore! He felt like he was talking to an alien!
Wang Yunxi looked at him. She did not know what to say.
“You are all weirdos!”
“You are the one who is a weirdo. Are you an alien?” Pei Zichen was very close to Wang Yunxi, to the extent that they could talk casually. There was nothing that they could not say to each other.
“Pei Zichen, are you a morally righteous person already? I would say that you are the alien!”
“I am morally righteous! And I am a human being!”
“A human who would do that kind of thing but not feel anything?” She could not imagine the scene when Xiao Chen looked at his father ‘working out’ on the bed! Oh my god!
“It was really nothing. You are exaggerating things because you are an alien!” Pei Zichen looked at her scornfully.
“Am I?”
“You are.”
Wang Yunxi was totally dumbfounded.
Right at this moment, a maid announced their arrival.
“Young Mister, Miss, Mister, the young master is here. The old lady asked you to meet her.”
When they heard that Lu Man was here, Wang Yunxi and Pei Zichen forgot all about their conversation earlier on.
When they were at the door, they realized that Mu Yunhai was still sitting on his chair.
“Mu Yunhai, get up! Don’t make Grandmother wait for us!” Wang Yunxi urged him.
“I am not hungry. I will just stay here.” He did not want to see them being close to each other. Their intimacy was a torture to him!
“Do you think that you have a say on this?” Wang Yunxi knew the reason why he did not want to go out. And it was because of the reason that she could not help but ridicule him for.
Mu Yunhai looked at her coldly. She was not scared at all. Compared to his brother’s fearsome gaze, his gaze was nothing.
“You better follow me downstairs now!”
Mu Yunhai wanted to ignore her at first, but he changed his mind and stood up.
Wang Yunxi thought that her order had worked. So she smiled proudly. Men were sometimes cheap. They would ignore you when you were all good to him. But when you have overpowered them, they would turn into dogs and come to you obediently.
By the time they got to the dining room, Lu Man and Pei Xiuyuan were already seated.
Wang Yunxi ignored Pei Xiuyuan. She looked at Lu Man scornfully. She would let her have it soon!
