“I’m six years old now. I’m no longer a three-year-old kid.”
He sneered at her and Lu Man felt like she was being despised by him. She touched her nose rather awkwardly.
“Then, goodbye.” She turned and wanted to leave him.
“Wait a moment,” the little boy called out to her.
Lu Man turned around. “What’s wrong?”
“What’s your name?”
She replied naturally, “Lu Man.”
“Fine. I’ll remember it now,” the little boy replied seriously.
Lu Man was amused. “Why do you want to remember my name?”
“It’s because you’re rather good looking!” She could be his backup friend.
“Then, do I have to thank you for your compliment?”
“Sure. Not many people receive my compliment.” His taste was indeed high.
“Then, thank you!” Lu Man stretched her hand and patted his head. He was such an adorable kid but he sounded so serious. She just wanted to pat him.
Her actions stunned him. No one had ever treated him like that since he was born.
“What’s wrong?”
“Forget about it.” He did not shake her off because it was not an unpleasant feeling.
Lu Man came out of the washroom. Pei Xiuyuan had finished paying the bills and he was waiting for her.
“I met an adorable kid in the washroom. I’m curious as to what his parents look like! How is he so adorable!” Lu Man could not help but wonder when they were on their way home.
“Do you like kids?” Pei Xiuyuan asked her. His eyes brightened at that.
“Yes.” Lu Man did adore kids.
“That’s good.” Pei Xiuyuan smiled. It was a captivating smile.
Lu Man did not understand his meaning but she did not ask for his clarification.
Wang Yunxi was delighted when she received a call from her elder brother saying that she did not have to hold a press conference anymore. She felt that he did adore her deeply. But, she soon became doubtful. Just the other day, her elder brother did not even let her go when she threatened to die in front of him. Why did he suddenly forgive her?
She told Mu Yunhai what happened. Mu Yunhai was not surprised at all. He did not appear to be very delighted regarding the good news. Wang Yunxi found it weird.
“Did you go and meet with Lu Man?” Wang Yunxi soon figured out the reason why.
“It’s fine now as long as we don’t have to hold the press conference.” Mu Yunhai did not want to explain anymore.
“Your old lover treats you so nicely.” Wang Yunxi could not help but make a sarcastic remark.

Pei Xiuyuan went to park the car when they were home. Lu Man went to retrieve the delivery package from the steward.
She saw the kid whom she met yesterday walking to and fro in front of the lift.
She was delighted. She approached him. “Little boy, why are you here? Are you living here too?”
The little boy looked up and saw the beautiful lady he met in the restaurant the day before. He admired her more when he saw how happy she was upon meeting him by chance.
“My dad lives here.”
“Your dad lives here.” Did it mean that he was not living together with his father?
Lu Man wanted to say something more but Pei Xiuyuan appeared in front of them.
“Dad!” The little boy in front of her threw herself happily at Pei Xiuyuan.

Pei Xiuyuan wanted to call out to Lu Man when he suddenly saw a little figure throwing himself at him. He was shocked.
He recovered his senses and he found that a little boy was hugging his thigh.
“Dad, I have missed you very much!” His voice sounded very sweet and it was loaded with deep emotion for his father.
No matter how cold and distant a kid seemed, he would surely be the child he was when he sees his father whom he had not met for a long time.
Pei Xiuyuan bent down and lifted his son up.
“Xiao Chen, who did you come here with?”
It was Pei Xiuyuan’s son, Pei Zichen! Lu Man adored that kid very much!
“I hailed a taxi on my own,” Pei Zichen said smugly. He was proud of himself for being able to come all the way to where his father was. In fact, he had overheard the conversation between his great grandmother and someone else and learned his father’s address. But, soon he became frightened when he saw his father’s face darkened.
“What did I tell you before?” He had gone to stroll on his own once and was nearly kidnapped. How dare he go out on his own again?
“I’m sorry, Dad.” Pei Zichen lowered his head. He appeared guilty in front of his dad.

Lu Man recovered her senses after a while. She looked at them and she was unsure about how to react to the situation at hand. She did not know whether to be happy at being able to meet that adorable kid from now on or to be angry at Pei Xiuyuan for hiding the truth from her.
