Pei Xiuyuan lowered his body. He watched her from close proximity. Her face was flawless. How fortunate she was to be born with such beauty!
Her cheeks were pink and soft. They seemed so cute and smooth. He just wanted to take a bite.
He always took quick actions.
Lu Man was sleeping soundly. But, she was startled and woke up all of a sudden because of him.
She opened her eyes and stared straight into his eyes. He was still licking and kissing her lips.
She was stunned.
Pei Xiuyuan was an extremely handsome man. He was as handsome as the devil. It was a dark night. He laid in front of her. He licked her lips and he seemed so very sexy doing that. It was a seducing move!
But, Lu Man was nervous. He appeared like he was enjoying a great feast in front of her.

A vampire in a drama. He was so handsome and seductive. But, it felt like he wanted to suck her blood dry.
Suddenly, a ridiculous thought dawned on her. Pei Xiuyuan had treated her nicely and fed her well so he could enjoy her blood!
Suddenly, Pei Xiuyuan approached her when she was still in a daze.
“Don’t… Don’t you dare…” The strong sense of oppression and coldness wash over her. She was still in a daze and she still held resolutely to the thought that he yearned for her blood.
But, her remaining words died in their kiss.
He was not sleepy at all and she had woken up from his ‘attack’ too.
She had cooked a big bowl of noodles for him in the middle of the night. If he did not work it out, he might gain weight from that.
After vigorous exercise, Lu Man was finally awake. She raised her eyes and peeked at Pei Xiuyuan secretly.
People always said that the fights between a couple could be resolved through sleeping together. Did it mean that he was no longer angry at her?
“Aren’t you sleepy?”
“No,” Lu Man replied honestly. She was startled by him and she was not sleepy anymore.
“Then, let’s continue.”
Lu Man was speechless.
She finally understood what it meant to reap what you sow.
She wanted so badly to ask Pei Xiuyuan just one thing before they fell asleep.
“Why did you bite me?” She still felt the lingering pain on her cheek now.
It was impossible that he was a vampire. Furthermore, a vampire would only suck blood from one’s neck. But, he had bitten her cheek. For her, it did not seem like he was the kind of childish man who would bite people’s faces.
“I bit you because I wanted to.”
Lu Man was again speechless.
What kind of answer was that? She was thinking about it so much earlier.
“Go to sleep now.”
“Fine.”
After a while, Pei Xiuyuan felt that the woman in his arm was still not yet asleep.
“Aren’t you sleepy?”
Lu Man wanted to reply to that but she remembered what happened just now. “I’m sleepy.”
So, she closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.
Finally, she fell asleep.
He opened his eyes when he heard her even breathing. He placed a soft kiss on her cheek where he bit her just now. He was anxious and he regretted it. It seemed that he had bitten too hard just now.
The next day, Lu Man woke up to prepare herself for work. She washed her face but she soon realized something that made her worry. The mark on her cheek was too deep and obvious. How could she get to work with that mark on her cheek?
“Just rest for a few days!” Pei Xiuyuan leaned against the door. It was all her fault. Her cheek was too soft and tender. He could not hold himself back from biting it.
Lu Man turned around and looked at him with a sad face. “How could I apply for leave just because someone else bit me? Other people still get to work when they’re bitten by dogs…”
Lu Man felt that there was something wrong with that sentence when she finished talking.
Then, she added as an explanation, “I’m not scolding you.”
“It’s fine. You really should scold me.” Pei Xiuyuan seemed guilty.
He was not a narrow-minded man. But, he was like that in front of her. He could not endure the fact that she was caring for someone else. He was indeed over the line the night before.
Lu Man put on a thick makeup on her face but that mark was still visible. So, she took out a winter mask and put it on.
Her colleagues were curious when they saw her wearing a mask in the middle of a hot summer day.
“I have the flu. I’m worried that I might be infectious.” She coughed lightly to prove her point.
Lu Man was a special person in the workplace. The crowd said something nice to her and soon got back to their work.
Lu Man felt that it was suffocating wearing the mask for a whole day. She wished that there was magic in this world and she could eliminate the mark on her face in a blink of an eye.
“It’s for you.” Pei Xiuyuan gave her a box.
Lu Man took it. “What is it?”
“Open it and take a look.”
“Mask?”
“This mask is better. It is more breathable.”
Pei Xiuyuan had ordered somebody to get the latest mask from overseas that day. Its breathability was superb. Wearing it felt like not wearing any mask at all. It could even filter the small particles of germs and bacteria in the air.
“Thank you.” Lu Man tried it on and it was indeed a good mask.
Pei Xiuyuan said nothing. She thanked her. Did it mean that he needed to respond with ‘You’re welcome’?
That was just too courteous.
Lu Man misunderstood that he was still angry at her when he kept quiet.
She wanted to talk to him but she did not know what to say. So, she kept quiet too.
The mark on her cheek disappeared after wearing the mask for three days.
But, it seemed that they were both separated by a mask too.
“How about we dine out today to celebrate the fact that you’re finally able to not use the mask?” Pei Xiuyuan felt that the time spent alone with her was indeed too short. He could not ask her to treat him just like how she treated had Mu Yunhai.
“Sure.” She felt that he wanted to ease the conflict between them.
They went to a western food restaurant at a five-star hotel. The atmosphere was beautiful and nice. But, Lu Man’s palate did not agree with the food there. She felt that it was much more enjoyable to have hotpot with boiled meat.
Lu Man saw a little boy in a suit when she came out of the washroom. He was standing on his tiptoe, trying to get to wash his hands in the sink. Her heart softened when she saw how adorable he seemed.
She approached him and asked him, “Shall I help you?”
The little boy turned around and Lu Man was shocked. She had never seen such a beautiful kid!
It made her want to have her own babies.
It was surely the same case with everybody who met the kid.
The little boy sized her up when Lu Man was looking at him.
He did not know her. But, she was beautiful and she did not have a pungent smell with her like the other women. What was more important was that she was smiling gently and sincerely at him.
It was different from all the women he usually encountered.
“Fine, I will allow you to do that,” he replied arrogantly. He was taught since young that he was of prestigious status and he should always appear so even if he needed someone’s help.
Lu Man did not feel angry at all when she heard him like that. She even felt that he was indeed adorable.
It was a world where people enjoyed looking at beautiful things.
She put him down the minute he was done washing his hands.
“Little boy, do you know where your seat is? Let me bring you there.” Lu Man looked at the kid in front of her. He seemed to be six or seven years old. She was afraid that he did not know where his seat was. She was also wondering what kind of parents he had given that they allowed him to go to the washroom on his own.
