First Love Never Dies - Chapter 17

But I won’t live with it any longer. It’s inevitable, because the old Alyssa is gone.

Nevertheless, this is my revenge for me(OG ALyssa).

‘What should I do with Louise?’

It seems that it would be unreasonable for me to stay in tune with my personality. It was necessary to send Louise out of the Fenvernon Dukedom, even in order to block information from entering the emperor. To do so, I needed a perfect excuse not to argue, ‘How dare you kick out my maid!’

‘I need to find a way.’

What should I do to get her out as soon as possible? The afternoon ended while I was thinking about various things.

As I was watching the duke’s wide garden and the spires beyond it, the duke’s butler, Sylvester, came to visit.

“Mistress, His Excellency has asked you to join him for dinner.”

The duke’s mansion during sunset was quiet.

It’s not just when it’s dinner. The duke’s house was always calm and desolate, as if submerged in water. I swam through it like a slow-moving fish.

The estate of the Fenvernon dukedom was huge, as it was the axis of the five dukes reigning over the Empire. Hundreds of rooms were used differently and were all spacious and elegant.

There were patterns of camellia flowers, the symbol of the family, throughout the mansion. I went back to my room and carved the flowers into my eyes as if I were looking for a hidden picture.

The Camellia of Fenvernon.

It was the last name of this family.

A long time ago, when evil dragons ruled the continent. The founder of the Grandia Empire was called by God and gained the power to rule over dragons, opening the country with five powerful men. The warriors killed the Dragon Kings and took their hearts one by one, each gaining the power of a dragon.

Thus they became human but close to dragons, and the power of their ancestors was passed down to the five dukes in blood. Some members of each family have this special ability, unlike ordinary people. That’s why Rashid was able to operate magical swordsmanship.

Among them, Rashid was unprecedentedly strong, comparable to the first duke. So there were sounds of whispering that he would be more of a dragon than a human being. Now that the dragon’s power has gradually faded over the years, his existence has been distinctly disparate.

And Rashid and I are the only people in this mansion who have Fenvernon’s last name.

Before marrying me, only Rashid was the Fenvernon of his time. All Grandia nobles know, but for a reason, no one speaks.

A few years ago, the conflict over the Duke of Fenvernon was called the Camellia Civil War. Rashid was the winner of the war.

The main character of the tragedy that killed his brothers and confined his mother. The devil of the west dyed the sunset with blood. However, he was so fascinating that anyone couldn’t help but be bewitched by him.

Strong and beautiful, but deeply wounded. It was indeed a manly setting in a romance novel.

People thought that Rashid, the second son, had killed his brother for the Duke position after their father died.

But the reality was a little different. Rashid’s brother tried to kill Rashid because he was jealous of his brother’s ability and appearance that inherited his family’s characteristics.

I knew the inside story because I read it in the book.

Alyssa’s memory and mine were intertwined to complete the understanding of Rashid. I’m probably the one who knows him best in the world right now.

As I passed by, the sun set out of the big window. I walked into the dining room with the purple sky behind me.

Rashid had already arrived.
