EX-Brave Wants a Quiet Life - Chapter 88

EX-Brave, Aina, and a Wizard

“Aina, you’re a graduate?”

“Most people who can use magic go to that school, but it’s not very useful because you learn more magic in real life than you do at that school.”

“That’s right! I complained about the inefficiency of the school, but they ignored me.”

“You complained? All the teachers here are from good families and have a lot of pride, so they must be a bunch of jerks, right?”

“Yes! I was treated badly from the very beginning.”

Aina and Lavender are getting excited.

We’re taking a stroll through the nearby forest, as Lavender wanted to take a look at it.

Aina is also accompanying me because we are both wizards.

“This is a precious medicinal herb! I’ve only ever seen it in an illustrated book…”

“Isn’t it? I was surprised at first, too.”

You know, when I first brought Aina to this forest, she was so excited.

She told me that the herbs in this forest were so valuable that if you sold them you could buy an entire luxury house.

I used to eat them when I was injured, but I guess I’ve had some valuable experience.

While Lavender was busy picking herbs, I asked Aina about her.

“Aina, what do you think of her as a wizard?”

“Well, she’s a genius.”

“Genius?”

“Yes, I’ve read some of Lavender’s papers on magic and they are amazing. She’s got out-of-the-box ideas like ‘magic circles that cut down on chanting’ and ‘magic methods that can be combined with other magic’.”

“But they didn’t appreciate it at school, did they? Didn’t the teachers know what they were talking about?”

“Even the best students don’t get recognized at school unless they listen to their teachers. I know because I’ve been there myself.”

Aina seemed to be having a hard time too.

It’s good to have a friend who understands what you’re going through.
