Chapter 35: West Side Refugee Camp
“What? Howard wants to take over this place? and send everyone here to the west side refugee camp?”, Hubert slammed the table and stood up.
Others might not know what the west side refugee camp was, but he did.
It was the concentration camp set up by Mayor Howard and the greedy tycoon Yoda.
All the refugees who entered the camp were assigned heavy labor, and all they got was a piece of moldy black bread.
If they couldn’t finish the assigned work on time, not only would there be no black bread, but they might even be whipped.
If someone really couldn’t do anything, they would even use the refugees be the bait to catch the enchanted creatures, or even cut them up and distribute them to their subordinates as food.
It could be said that that place was a demon den that ate humans.
“We definitely can’t go!”, Hubert said resolutely.
“But, if we don’t go, it will be hard to explain to Howard. Moreover, the deadline they gave us is very short. Today is the final deadline at noon. If we don’t go, they might send someone to force us to leave.”, Father Marlin said with some hesitation.
As he was speaking, the sound of a car horn sounded outside the door.
Hubert looked out of the window. Three black Mercedes-Benz slowly stopped at the door.
A few pig-headed bodyguards got out of the two cars in front and behind, escorting a leopard-headed man into the church.
“He is mayor Howard’s son, Richard. He should be here to order us to leave.”, Father Marlin sighed.
“As long as I’m here, no one can kick you out.”, Hubert glanced at the arrogant Richard with a disdainful look.
It was already the end of the world, and he still thought of himself as the mayor?
Soon, Richard and the others swaggered into Marlin’s office.
Richard looked at Marlin up and down, then, he said to him arrogantly, “Are you the person in charge here? Hurry up and call those damn refugees to pack up and line up, and immediately go to the west refugee camp. It’s really troublesome. If it weren’t for father’s arrangement, I wouldn’t have come to such a dirty place like yours. And I have to use the city government’s precious resources to feed you trashes.”
As Richard spoke, he took out a handkerchief and covered his nose.
Seeing that Marlin did not move, Richard became even angrier. He shouted at the few people, “Why, didn’t you hear what I said? Don’t tell me you don’t take the mayor’s words seriously anymore?”
“You are Richard?”, Hubert looked at Richard and asked.
“Yes, I am. Who are you?”, Richard looked at Hubert’s tall figure and couldn’t help but take a step back.
“I am Hubert, the person-in-charge here.”, Hubert said faintly.
“So you are the person-in-charge?”. Hearing Hubert’s words, Richard let out a long breath, and then returned to his original arrogant look, “Did you hear what I said just now? If you heard it, then hurry up and do it. Don’t dawdle. I’m still in a hurry to take over this place.”.
“I’m sorry. We won’t leave this place.”, Hubert said with a smile.
“What?”, Richard jumped up when he heard Hubert’s words. He was like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
“You said you don’t want to move out?”, Richard questioned loudly. “Do you know who gave the order? It’s the mayor! How dare you disobey the mayor’s order? Are you going to rebel?”
“First, this is God’s territory. Without God’s permission, no one can make us move out of here.”, Hubert said and raised his index finger.
“Second, the mayor is your father, and you are only his son, not the mayor himself.”, Hubert smiled and pointed at Richard’s forehead.
“As for the third point, do you think anyone will still recognize his identity as the mayor? The state government is gone, and he still wants to rely on his identity as the mayor to do whatever he wants? Stop dreaming.”, Hubert reached out and pushed, Richard was pushed five to six meters away.
Richard directly crashed into the arms of a pig-headed bodyguard.
“Okay, I have no interest in wasting time with you. Get out of here. You are not welcome here.”, Hubert said with his arms crossed.
“You dare to ignore me!”, Richard’s eyes were full of anger, and the hair on his tail stood up.
“Go on, kill him!”, Richard shouted at the pig-headed bodyguard beside him.
“Yes.”, the two pig-headed men rushed towards Hubert, trying to push him to the ground.
Hubert opened his Eyes of Good and Evil and scanned the surroundings. He found that the people that Richard brought were all wearing a bright red halo.
“They are all unpardonable criminals? Then it is only natural to kill you.”
A Holy Light Sword appeared in Hubert’s hand and he gently swept it at the two pig-headed men.
A line of blood appeared on the necks of the two pig-headed men.
“UH –“, the two pig-headed men clutched their necks and fell to the ground in pain. Not long after, they stopped breathing.
Seeing this scene, Richard became even angrier. “How dare you kill my men! All of you, attack! I want to place his head into the study and treat it as a trophy!”
Hearing this, the remaining six pig-headed bodyguards behind Richard rushed towards Hubert.
Seeing the six pig-headed men, Hubert shook his head. The Holy Light Sword instantly extended to two meters and swept horizontally, cutting the six pig-headed men in half.
“Ah!”, the six pig-headed men lay on the ground and wailed. Blood flowed everywhere and dyed the carpet red.
Richard was dumbfounded when he saw this scene. He never thought that the eight bodyguards he brought with him would all be killed by Hubert.
Moreover, Hubert’s attack was so quick and clean that they didn’t have the chance to resist at all.
He looked at everything in a daze and didn’t know what to do for a moment.
“Do you have anything else to say?”, Hubert held the Holy Light Sword and walked towards Richard step by step.
“You, don’t come over, don’t come over!”, Richard saw Hubert walking over and was so scared that he sat on the ground and cried.
His pants instantly became wet, and an unpleasant smell spread in the air.
“What a waste!”, seeing Richard like this, Hubert couldn’t help but frown.
“Get lost quickly.”, Hubert waved his hand impatiently.
Hubert felt that killing such a person was an insult to his sword.
“You want to let me go?”, Richard asked in disbelief.
“Before I change my mind.”, Hubert waved the Holy Light Sword in front of Richard.
Richard was so scared that he turned around and ran away.
“You shouldn’t have let him go.”, Father Marlin looked at Richard’s miserable figure and sighed helplessly.
“Don’t worry, he’s just a pawn. He’s not worth paying attention to.”, Hubert waved his hand. “I happen to have something to discuss with you.”
