Dragon Knight Jet Fighter - Chapter 55

Big Li’s facial muscles twitched, and his heart shook. He might have only used half of his strength since he did not want to hurt anyone, but even so, it was not something an ordinary person should have been able to withstand, especially not with the power of one palm. What did this prove?

It meant that when he was using half of his strength, his opponent was superior to him in terms of strength and speed.

“Again!” Big Li suddenly became excited, and he swung his other fist as well, this time with 90% of his strength.

Bang! The result was the same!

The eyes of the others were staring so hard that they had already popped out. Big Li’s strength was second to none among them. He was born strong and trained hard, not the type that just looked the part.

Yet today, he was actually suppressed easily by someone else, overthrowing the image of Big Li as an abnormally strong man in their minds. Everyone immediately labeled this newcomer as ‘mysterious’ and ‘strong’. If they knew that he had been an Airforce pilot for less than a year, they would probably label him as ‘demon’ as well.

“What amazing strength!” Big Li exclaimed. Lin Mo still had a relaxed expression as he held both of Big Li’s fists in his hands, as though a pair of pliers were clamping them. Only he knew how it felt. The big fists in the small palms looked out of harmony.

Big Li wanted to say something else, but he suddenly felt an unparalleled force coming from the opponent’s hands. His body was completely uncontrollable as he rose from the ground and flew. With a loud bang, he slammed into the wall and became a human-shaped pancake. He groaned in pain.

He was KO-ed without even landing an attack on his opponent!

What kind of monster joined them this time!

The excited atmosphere disappeared from the room, leaving only the sound of many sucking in deep breaths and the sound of eyeballs falling to the ground.

“This guy is really extraordinary!” the buff young man with thick eyebrows could not help but mutter in a low voice.

In the military, capability spoke the loudest. Lin Mo’s performance would overturn many people’s understanding of him.

The Dragon Knight of the cold weapons era from another world was not only good at riding a Giant Dragon in aerial combat at high altitudes but also good at close combat.

“Hey, hey, what are you guys squeezing in here for? Why don’t you go wash up and sleep?!” Old Hu’s voice rang from outside suddenly. “Are you bullying the newcomer again? I say, you lot are good, but you are simply too disorganized and undisciplined! Move, get out of the way, let me see. Second Lieutenant Lin Mo, I hope you’re not hurt. Huh? You?!” Old Hu squeezed through the crowd only to see Lin Mo unharmed. He did not even have a crease on his clothes, but in the corner of the wall, there was a familiar figure groaning and getting up.

It seemed like fighting was commonplace here. Old Hu should not have been surprised at all, but he was surprised again. The newly-arrived Second Lieutenant Lin Mo seemed fine, while Big Li was in a sorry state.

“I say, Big Li, why are you hitting the wall in your free time?” Old Hu did not think that they were testing the newcomer just now.

“F*ck! Old Hu, where the hell did you get this monster? His strength directly overturned me.” Big Li knew very well how much strength it took to throw someone against a wall that hard. He had never thought that this guy could have such great power.

“What? Did you two already spar?” Old Hu looked at Big Li and then turned toward Lin Mo. He carefully sized him up while the corner of his mouth twitched a few times.

“Hehe. Second Lieutenant Lin Mo, don’t be angry. These bastards have such a temperament. It’s also an unwritten rule here that the newcomers have to go through such a welcome. We’re all brothers from now on, so don’t take it to heart.” Old Hu finally understood what kind of person he brought back with him.

“It’s okay!” Lin Mo spread his hands and shrugged, showing that he did not mind. After all, he had taken the upper hand easily and did not suffer a loss. He should be an adult about it. He looked at the rest of the people in the room and said, “Let’s get to know each other since I’m going to join you!”

The first one to step out was the bulky guy with thick eyebrows. He saluted Lin Mo and laughed dryly. “Hehe. I’m Huang Sheng, sniper, code name ‘Bullfrog’!”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you!” Lin Mo saluted back. The members of this team were just beginning to accept him.

The female soldier with short hair tucked neatly behind her ears came out from behind Huang Sheng. She also saluted and said confidently, “I’m Fang Xiaoyan, responsible for communications and electronic confrontations. Code name ‘Potato’.”

“I’m Yuan Jingxing, assault team, code name ‘Toothbrush’!”

“I’m Qin Baosong, sniper and observer, code name ‘Wrench’!”

Finally, the tall man who challenged Lin Mo walked to Lin Mo’s and introduced himself. “Li Xiuwen, machine gunner. Code name…?” He touched his head. “I don’t have a code name! They all call me Big Li, so you can also call me Big Li.” The tall man was a straightforward person, and he did not hate Lin Mo for throwing him against the wall.

Everyone in the room stepped forward one by one to greet Lin Mo. Old Hu relaxed. These soldiers recognized the newcomer Lin Mo without giving him too much trouble. To put it bluntly, they had been planning to bully the newcomer. The Dark Night Secret Service Brigade did not allow just anyone to join. Ordinary special forces would not even qualify. All of them were the crème de la crème. What were they in normal troops? Soldier Kings.

The Secret Service Brigade was a camp consisting of Soldier Kings, and no one could join without something special to them. They established seniority based on strength and abilities here, and it was useless to talk about military ranks.

“Now that’s more like it! Harmony is best!” The driver, Old Hu, played the role of the panacea here. “I’m Hu Shu, driver, responsible for logistics, code name ‘Driver’!” This fellow was a real elite, and his code name was his actual job. But it was definitely not as simple as just being a driver on the surface. Lin Mo speculated that he should be an all-rounder who was good at driving and maintaining various vehicles. In an actual elite combat force, the roles and position of each member were very important and indispensable.

“Look at the time. We should all know each other now, so let’s go go go! Show time’s over!” Driver Hu Shu remembered the important business and started to rush people out. He got the guy outside to enter. “Come, come, come, register our new Lin Mo and bring his meal over. This young man had to play with you lot on an empty stomach. You black-hearted guys.” He shook his head in jest.

“Second Lieutenant Lin, eat well. See you tomorrow.” Huang Sheng, a sniper, quickly left.

“Second Lieutenant Lin, see you tomorrow!”

“See you tomorrow! Gold Coin! A wealthy code name, how auspicious!” Someone did not forget to ridicule before leaving.

The group of people dispersed, leaving only Driver Old Hu, a few guards, and a basket of food.

They checked Lin Mo’s fingerprints again, scanned his iris, and photographed the profile of his face with infrared. Then he filled in the registration form. It only took about ten minutes to complete the registration.

The dinner that Driver Old Hu brought for Lin Mo was not bad at all. There were seven or eight side dishes, a bowl of soup, and a large box of rice. Both the quality and quantity were great. The cooks of Dark Night were equal to if not better than the cooks in his former Air Force base. There was fish, meat, and vegetables, all looking and smelling delicious. It was more like the elaborate cooking of chefs from high-end restaurants. Military cooks might not possess such good craftsmanship.

“Here, this is your battle strategy tablet. The underground maps of the base are all inside. Restricted areas have been marked. Don’t go where you shouldn’t. Also, your identity bracelet is your apartment key and your salary card. Your apartment is 709. The number in front is not the floor it’s on but its serial number. You can find the location on the tablet. Don’t worry about getting lost. You won’t need to use it after going around a few times.” Looking at Lin Mo devouring the food, Old Hu smiled and handed over a bag of documents.

There was an ultra-thin A4-sized tablet within. Lin Mo raised his eyebrows. The equipment here was really not simple. No wonder everyone said that military technology preceded civilian technology. They would only be transferred for civilian use when they were about to be outdated. Lin Mo once saw an internal book on military science. In the 1980s, the military had completed the basic application of laser technology, from integrated optical circuits to laser weapons. Even now, civilians were still excited about the arrival of laser technology. But they did not know that the laser technology currently on the market was about to be upgraded from military technology, through being eliminated and transferred to civilian use.

“I want it! I want it!” Lin Mo could hear the Metal-Attribute Giant Dragon Gold Coin screaming in his head like a crazy girlfriend. This fellow showed no restraint when it saw advanced electronic products.

Lin Mo felt as though he had yet another lifeline that could make this fellow obedient.

“Thank you!” Lin Mo took the bag with a grateful smile, but he held it in his right hand. The pitiful Gold Coin in its watch form was on Lin Mo’s left wrist. Even with Gold Coin’s frantic pestering reverberating in his head, Lin Mo did not reply to it.

“Your plane is estimated to arrive in half a month. You can familiarize yourself with the runway first. There’s already an army aviation team in the Secret Service Brigade, and the logistics staff will assist you.” Old Hu watched the staff clean up after Lin Mo’s meal. “Go and rest early. You’ll meet Brigade Commander Feng and the other members of the Secret Service Brigade tomorrow.”

“Thank you!” Lin Mo saluted. He could see that Old Hu was a serious and meticulous soldier. Even though he was non-combatant, his status in Dark Night had to be extraordinary.

Relying on the positioning system on the tablet, Lin Mo quickly found his apartment. It had one bedroom, one study, one living room, one bathroom, and looked about ninety square meters.
