Descent of the Demon God - Chapter 16

“Bah. Oh, what about dropping from the sky thing? I think he’s very suspicious. Do you think he may have some connection with someone higher up?”

He wasn’t talking about criminals involved in petty crimes. There were Yulin organizations who had connections with giant companies and powerful politicians. Those organizations weren’t easy to deal with even for the PSB.

‘This doesn’t sound good.’

They had to bring in the criminal, but they did not know anything about the individual they had in the compound.

“We scanned his retinas and got his fingerprints, but nothing showed up. We did call in Doctor Jo for a blood test right before you came in. I think the blood sample should be ready by now.”

“Ugh. Let’s go take a look.”

They were talking a bit more in front of the elevator, but they soon walked toward the interrogation room. The man was being held in the 4th Interrogation room. Two men walked into the door next to the room.

“Vice Director.”

A short-haired woman and well-built man quickly got up and saluted. They were both detectives from the 3rd Homicides Department Team.

“Quiet.”

Hou Ilgyung raised his finger to his lips to make detectives go silent. One could see the interrogation room. It was possible to look into it, but the same wasn’t possible from the inside. There was a lone table inside the room with young man with long hair and a pale white face sitting down on the chair in front of it. It was Chun Yeowun.

-I will take a small blood sample for checking your identity. I am not trying to hurt you.

They heard a voice through the speaker inside. It was Jo Sejong from the PSB Medical Department, trying to persuade Chun Yeowun.

“Is it him?”

“Yes, sir.”

“He looks like he came out from a movie. Why does he still have a weapon?”

“…I’m sorry, sir.”

Hou Ilgyung didn’t like the fact the man still had his weapon. He then got up closer to the window to have a closer look. It was then.

‘…H-huh?!’

Chun Yeowun immediately turned his head and looked straight into Hou Ilgyung’s eyes. It should look like a mirror from the other side, but Chun Yeowun was looking directly at him. Hou Ilgyung asked Song Wigang behind him, “You sure you can’t see us from the other side?”

“Yes, sir. He can only see himself.”

It was only a mirror from the other side.

‘Is it just a coincidence?’

Chun Yeowun was looking at Jo Sejong again. Hou Ilgyung just thought it was a coincidence and began looking closely at Chun Yeowun.

“Is he refusing to take a blood test?”

“I think he considers it harmful to himself.”

A woman detective answered from behind. That’s when Chun Yeowun shot out his right arm and spoke.

-Take it if you can.

With the voice, Hou Ilgyung became dumbfounded and shook his head with a frown.

“Does he have some issue with his brain?”

He thought it was too much drama for just a blood test. Jo Sejong over in the other room seemed to think the same as he sighed and raised his needle. He then wrapped the rubber tube around Chun Yeowun’s right arm.

“Relax. It will only pinch.”

He then tried to push in the needle onto Chun Yeowun’s vein. But…

*Crack*

“Huh?”

The needle just broke without pushing into the skin. Jo Sejong thought he had made some kind of a mistake and replaced the needle. He then spoke to Chun Yeowun.

“You should relax. Don’t put any force into your arm.”

“I am not doing anything.”

“Whew… Alright. Anyway, don’t put any force, okay? You might get hurt.”

Jo Sejong checked Chun Yeowun’s fist to see if he was putting pressure on it. After checking that Chun Yeowun wasn’t doing anything, he then pressed the needle into the vein again.

*Crack!*

The second needle broke and Jo Sejong realized he had not made any mistakes. The needle just broke as if it had been thrust into stone.

‘Is this human skin for real?’

Even if the muscles were developed to the limit, needles could still penetrate the skin they were aimed properly. Jo Sejong tried to change his needle for the third time when…

*grab*

“Ugh! W-what are you doing?!”

Chun Yeowun grabbed his wrist. Yeowun then warned him with a low voice.

“You had two chances. It’s enough.”

“Ughhhh! P-Please! Let me go!”

Jo Sejong shouted loudly as he felt the pain on his wrist as if it would break. This was a signal he was making to call for help to the detectives in the other room.

“Dammit!”

Two detectives hastily tried to run out, but Chun Yeowun suddenly turned his head and spoke toward the glass window as if he was looking through it from the beginning.

-If you try anything funny, I’ll break his wrist off.

‘?!’

Two detectives became shocked as they were trying to go out. They did feel Chun Yeowun was watching them through the window a few times, but they had believed it to be a coincidence.

Yeowun then got up from his seat.

“Aaaaaaaargh! P-please! Let go!”

Jo Sejong screamed in pain, but Yeowun ignored it and walked closer to the window.

‘Huh???’

Yeowun stopped where Hou Ilgyung was standing across the window. Hou Ilgyung was now certain that Chun Yeowun was actually looking right into the window at him. Hou Ilgyung became pale.

Yeowun spoke.

-You look like you are higher in rank than the other guys.

‘UGH!’

Hou Ilgyung became afraid and took several steps back.
