Descent of the Demon God - Chapter 103

“Ghost Illusion Clan!”

Chun Yeowun was surprised. It never occurred to me that Ghost Illusion Clan would be mentioned in this man’s mouth. Ghost Illusion Clan. It was one of the top Clan of the Great Demonic Cult. It was also a clan that controls information and deals with spies throughout the land.

‘That’s why they knew how to make a skin mask.’

Ghost Illusion clan that oversees intelligence organizations and spies, the owners there have been masters of making and disguising facial masks for generations. Of course, the skin mask was not unique to Ghost Illusion Clan, so Chun Yeowun did not just expect this.

“Ghost Illusion Clan!”

Kin Oyun came into the prison. She, too, seemed very surprised at the word Ghost Illusion Clan. As she frowned at the traces of torture, she asked in a trembling voice.

“Then is Director Huang here, too?”

The man whose tongue was cut off looked at her with familiar eyes as if he recognized Kin Oyun and immediately shook his head.

“Nnnngh!! Ngh!!.”

[He’s not here. But that’s that, please help our store owner! Please I beg you.]

“Who is the store owner?”

A man stopped for a second by Chun Yeowun’s question, then answered in a voice full of anxiety.

[…It is our clan’s successor.]

* * *

The city, about 14 kilometers southeast of the Public Security Bureau. As Gate Warning was in effect, it was filled with silence through the dark night. This was because all the citizens fled to shelters. A shabby building was hidden at the entrance to the alley, without even signboards in the city, where numerous buildings are concentrated. There was a secret in this building that looked normal outside. The elevators only had an unmarked second basement floor, with three underground floors that could only be lowered through hidden stairs. Of course, even if someone was ucky enough to find a stairway down here, there was a “safe room” hidden on the wall.

The room, so-called a safety shelter, was made of superalloy, 80 centimeters thick, and had a structure that could not be opened outside without a key with a special code.

“Ha…”

There was a sigh of relief in it. There was a man in his 40s with a slender frame. He couldn’t take his eyes off the CCTV footage installed inside the safe room. Screens were showing around the entrance of the stairs and inside the third basement floor.

The man bit his pinky finger. The reason for his anxious behavior was that he was hiding himself from someone.

‘I didn’t expect the Gate Warning.’

Due to the sudden Gate Warning, the reserved ticket of underground express train service has been canceled. Thanks to the Gate Warning, he was back here

‘Ugh… only if it went off 30 minutes later…’

He would have been out of the Simyang City by then. All he could do now was to hope for the danger to pass while he hid here. The safe room created for emergency situation was strong enough to withstand most explosives, but just being locked up here was enough to make him become scared.

‘I guess Simyang City ain’t safe anymore.’

The city known to be safer than other cities seemed it was now knowledge of the past. It was when he was getting gloomy.

‘Huh?’

One of the screen turned black as if the connection was lost. It was a the camera in the lobby of the building. The man became shocked as he focused on the screen.

‘They came in another way!’

All the windows and entrances of the building were shut down for Gate Warning so he had over looked that enemies were capable of breaking those locks. Surveillance camera showing the basement stairs turned off.

‘Dammit!’

A man instinctively felt that his enemies were approaching him. Nervous, he pressed buttons on the device under the monitor. Traps on the third basement floor were activated.

‘Please don’t notice.’

But as if to ignore such a hope, the hidden third basement stairs have been breached. A black shadow was captured on the screen showing a narrow corridor. The man pressed the rewind of the footage and then slowly played in slow mode.

A masked man was seen cutting the camera with a sword at a tremendous speed. He was so fast that even though the footage was slowed down to eight times the speed, it was barely recorded.

‘No!!’

Then the camera at the entrance of the stairs on the third basement floor was turned off. There were only two cameras left, and the enemies showed them selves, as if they had no more intention to hide themselves. The man thought it was one, but there were six.

A man with a white striped collar on his arm gestured with his arm, and two other men threw something toward the camera. At the same time, both screens turned black.

This resulted in the loss of all the screens available in the Safe Room. The only remaining defensive measures were traps on the third basement floor and walls made of this superalloy. It began to worry the man.
