Clow Cards Cardcaptor - Chapter 42

“You bloody pervert! Do you want to take away her lingerie too!”

Ling roared fiercely in Fang Ran’s mind. Standing on the moral high ground, she ferociously scorned Fang Ran’s immoral conduct of putting on a female disguise.

“Oh oh oh!”

Fang Ran responded swiftly, intending to place Xia Yao’s clothes back down. However, before he could let go, he suddenly realized a serious problem.

‘F*ck!’

If he put the clothes down, what was he supposed to wear!

“Are you stupid?! If you can change your outward appearance, why can’t you change your clothes?! Sure enough, you are still a pervert!”

Ling’s exasperated roar resounded through Fang Ran’s mind.

Fang Ran burst into tears. ‘Oh yeah, If I can even change my appearance, why can’t I produce a piece of clothing?’

He sighed inwardly. Then, he simply threw down Xia Yao’s sexy black silk spaghetti strap nightie and closed his eyes just in case he saw something that he should not see…

“Huh? Why aren’t you wearing it…”

Xia Yao looked at the silver-haired girl in front of her in puzzlement. Before she could finish what she was saying, she saw a sight that momentarily took her breath away.

A golden rectangular ray of light transformed into photoelectrons, before dissipating from the hands of the silver-haired girl named ‘Diamond’. Then, a circular cyclone whirled up from beneath her feet, like a gust of wind engulfing her body. After the cyclone dissipated, clothes finally appeared on her body.

The same clothes that Xia Yao was wearing.

Startled as she watched this scene unfold before her, Xia Yao’s mouth widened slightly and blinked her eyes in incredulity.

Then, she heard the girl in front of her sigh faintly.

“Luckily, it’s not a skirt…”

“You…”

Xia Yao looked at her, momentarily stumped for words.

“Uh…”

Then, she saw the silver-haired girl in front of her scratching her hair, seeming both a little troubled and slightly relieved. Looking like she did not know how to explain, the girl said,

“That… Don’t be surprised, you… can just take it as a dream.”

“A dream…?”

Xia Yao mumbled under her breath in disbelief, her expression somewhat lifeless. Then, as if she realized something, she pressed her lips together tightly and shakily took a step back.

“Let’s go, I will wipe out her memory from tonight and settle the score with you when we get home!”

Ling’s voice rang out in Fang Ran’s mind and Fang Ran’s expression instantly turned sour. After which, he opened the door and prepared to leave. However, when he unintentionally turned his head around, he saw Xia Yao’s eyes glueing to him with an unknown emotion in her eyes that seemed like…

Longing.

As if demons and gods were at work, Fang Ran halted in his tracks and turned his head around. Then, he said with a sigh,

“I can fulfil one of your wishes, but only a very small one.”

When Ling heard what he said, her brows instantly furrowed and she asked him in his mind,

“What are you trying to do again?”

When Xia Yao heard what he said, a beautiful expression immediately burst forth in her eyes. Hesitantly, she took a step forward. Even she herself felt that this situation right now was so absurd and surreal, but something in her heart made her embrace this tinge of this unrealistic fantasy as she opened her mouth, like a young girl making a wish to a witch she did not know.

“Um, Diamond, can you…”

She said in a quavering voice and paused there. Xia Yao felt that this moment was so inconceivable that it was like a fairy tale. Today, she had just been practicing dance as usual, how did it come to this all of a sudden?

Even she herself felt that it was impossible as she forced herself to put on a smile and blurted out something that she found preposterous,

“Let me see my mother again?”

After she said that, Xia Yao’s tall figure seemed inexplicably lonely. With the slightest bit of hope in her heart, she clenched her fists tightly.

‘Is this a dream?’

‘Am I dreaming?’

With hope-filled eyes, Xia Yao stared at the silver-haired girl in front of her.

‘Meh, she won’t remember it after anyways.’

“I suppose it is considered a small one.”

Fang Ran drew out [The Shadow] and [The Illusion] cards. Then, he used magic and the two cards made their way out of the stack of cards. Seeing the magic take effect, he then walked out, not forgetting to gently close the door behind him.

Only Xia Yao was left standing still on the spot.

Suddenly, she felt someone behind her. Trembling with expectations, she turned around, fearing that her hopes would be dashed.

The person behind her looked the same as ten years ago.

Anguish, tears, nostalgia, grievances, and longing bubbled up within her.

All of it overwhelmed her heart, and she burst into tears like a child, longing to hug the woman whom she could only see in photos now.

The woman who used to wash her clothes, cook for her, comb her hair for her, wash her face for her, and who brought her into the dance studio.

She yelled out the word that was extremely familiar, yet had not been uttered in ten years,

“Mom!”

“Mom!”

“Mom!”

Xia Yao let out a heartfelt sob. Her mother just continued to smile gently at her, and reached out her hand to stroke her head. Xia Yao wanted to reach out with her hand, but before she realized that she was not able to touch the illusion in front of her, she was struck by a wave of telekinesis and Xia Yao blacked out.

A shimmering light flickered, and Ling slowly floated down, watching the illusion of Xia Yao’s mother slowly dissipate into two cards before floating out of the window.

In the data space, Ling rubbed her temples and mumbled resignedly,

“Seriously, this b*stard did something so superfluous, how can I still take action…”

‘Always having this kind of superfluous perceptive insight in such unnecessary places…’

‘Even though I thought that he was a simple-minded nitwit…’

Pulling a piece of clothing over Xia Yao’s body, she used her telekinesis to seal the broken window and locked the door to ensure that this room was safe before she woke up.

Flying outside the building, Ling suddenly felt a little irritable, and the events that happened in a small village in Europe a century ago vaguely flashed across her mind.

However, before she could be sentimental for a while, Ling suddenly remembered…

‘Where did that idiot Fang Ran go?!’

Ling was so infuriated that she no longer felt touched. Flying out to chase after him, she shouted straight into Fang Ran’s mind,

“Fang Ran, you b*stard! I haven’t settled the scores from the previous matter with you! Where have you run to!”

A certain someone who was depending on [The Float] to frantically flee, planning to head to the dormitory to stay for a night so as to avoid trouble, suddenly fell from midair…

“Kneel down!”

Ling bellowed in Fang Ran’s rental apartment.

Instantly, Fang Ran obediently knelt down on the bed, appearing to be saying “I admit my mistakes, please have mercy on me”.

“Tell me the truth! What’s going on with Night Raven?! What on earth did you do to offend so many people in one shot!”

Ling asked Fang Ran through clenched teeth.

“Uh… That is… uh… um… so…”

Fang Ran stammered, being totally unclear.

“Don’t hem and haw! Hurry up and talk!” Ling probed fiercely.

“Um… Can I not say?”

Fang Ran opened his eyes wide, trying hard to act cute.

It was not that Fang Ran really wanted to act cute, but that he really…

Could not bring himself to talk about it!

“A debtor must pay his debt, a murderer… must pay with his life!”

“All of you! Don’t even think about escaping!”

“Ordinary people can go crazy too!!!”

Coldly seeking revenge, his black clothes flew in the night as he chased and killed others in the city so as to avenge a guy who had not died.

‘This kind of naive, stupid teenage behaviour has me exploding in shame…’

‘How can I talk about it!’

‘I thought I had graduated from stupidity, but it turns out that it was all my f*cking imagination!’

“What do you think?”

Ling’s voice became extremely sinister and terrifying. Immediately, Fang Ran felt that the power bank in front of him had become a monster with its ferocious mouth wide open!

The quick-witted Fang Ran felt that at times like this, he had to save himself!

He had to do something to divert the attention of his enraged summoned beast!

Suddenly, Fang Ran had an idea!

‘That’s right! Didn’t I obtain a piece of equipment!’

When he thought of this, Fang Ran hurriedly summoned the interface. Then, he flattered her like he was presenting a treasure to the Empress Dowager, as he smiled and said,

“By the way! I actually did win. Look, I even obtained a piece of equipment!”

After saying this, Fang Ran swiftly opened the interface. The six grids on the light blue system interface were very eye-catching and in the second grid, a dark and obscure long coat stood still quietly. Fang Ran’s finger clicked on it, and the name of that Night Equipment immediately popped out.

[Night Equipment ZXC9-A: Night Pilgrimage of Huginn and Muninn]

‘F*ck, eh? Isn’t it called Night Raven?’

Fang Ran was still puzzled as to why the name had been changed, but he realised that he seemed to have achieved his goal and the power bank had successfully been pacified.

However, because of the power bank, Fang Ran could not see Ling’s expression.

The reason being, in the data space, Ling’s expression…

! ! ! _(゚Д゚)ノ! ! !

Was like that!
