After Impetuous and Fang Ran reluctantly bade farewell to each other with tears still in their eyes, both of them were teleported out of the scenario. By the way, these two ‘magical girls’ had formed a team. Fang Ran was considered someone with a teammate now.

In a daze, Fang Ran realized that he was already in his living room.

Blinking his eyes, he looked at the huge morning sun outside. Looking at the rising sun from the east, he could not snap out of it.

After a long time, he lamented, “What a thrilling and exciting experience, I feel like I’ve matured a lot.”

Then he heard the whoosh of the wind behind him!

“Thrilling my a*s! Exciting my a*s! Matured my a*s!”

Thrilling? Exciting! ? F*cking tell me, in those few hours, apart from pigging out on snacks and drinks, and hiding till the end without doing anything, what else did you f*cking do?!

Even crushing that E-grade target to death was because of the trap I set!

However, looking at the summoned beast that was flying towards him with the obvious intention of smacking his face, Fang Ran deftly jumped aside and dodged Ling’s blow. He retorted defensively,

“I know what you are thinking! But the reward is proof of my accomplishments!”

Then… Smack!

Using her telekinesis, Ling manipulated the slippers to smack his face.

“A*shole! You damn summoned beast, I will show you now what a master’s dominance is!”

Fang Ran, whose face had been smacked by the slippers, immediately jumped up in a fit, intending to teach this cocky power bank a good lesson.

“Bureau of Cultural Relics~”

Ling uttered these few words unhurriedly.

Fang Ran, who had been charging ahead like a wild boar, instantly slid to his knees and bootlicked, smiling at Ling with an a*s-kissing smile as he said,

“Aiyo! What are you talking about, I was just joking~”

Seeing how he could just go with the flow and bow or stand tall, the corners of Ling’s mouth twitched.

In the past century and more, Ling really did not know that there were such people in the Night Battle.

“Hah.. Coward, I’m too lazy to lecture you. What’s the reward, which aspect of your power does it improve?”

“Uh…” Fang Ran was momentarily stunned. Then he clumsily found the system interface and saw the words written on it.

[You have been given Power Upgrade]

Just one sentence?

No way, after I went through all that trouble and hardship (…) after I had a narrow escape from death (…), and finally relied on my own strength after all that (…) to complete the final kill, you just give me a reward in one sentence?

“It says that I can upgrade my power?” Fang Ran read this sentence out in confusion.

“Oh,” Ling was not surprised at all. Seeing the look of confusion on Fang Ran’s face, she said with a sigh, “Open your power interface.”

Fang Ran swiftly opened the pastel-pink interface with a girly theme and with a picture of Sakura standing in the upper right corner.

‘F*ck! Every time I see this, my liver hurts!’

Fang Ran thought miserably. However, he still did not have any other option since he was a fugitive with a leash around his hands.

On the pastel pink girl interface, three simple lines of new notifications appeared underneath.

[Number of Acquisitions: 2/2]

[Unlocking progress: 1/52]

[Do you wish to proceed with extracting your power?]

Ling also flew over and looked at the interface. She then said calmly,

“Not too bad. As expected, rewards for special scenarios are what participants need the most.”

“Um, so, can I extract now? Extract twice?” Fang Ran rubbed his hands in glee, looking like a person who was about to scratch the lottery ticket.

‘This idiot really doesn’t use his brain at all.’

“Wait a minute…” Ling sighed, feeling very emotionally exhausted.

“Show me your magic first, don’t you have a card with you now?”

“Uh, all right.”

Fang Ran scratched his head. Taking a deep breath, he tried to overcome the shame he felt and kept reassuring himself.

‘Stay calm! Stay calm! The wand is no longer the same!’

‘I no longer have to shout that line, ‘The belt which hides the powers of the dark’!’

‘Also, there is no power of the dark hidden in a f*cking belt!’

Thinking about all these trivial matters, Fang Ran pulled out the Silver Split Dragontooth that was at his waist. Its cool appearance gave him a lot of reassurance. He then recounted the words that he had recited previously.

“Uh, Sword! Appear in my hand. I command you as your master.”

“Cl-clow card!”

Just a section of the incantation, he stammered and stuttered, and recited it so feebly. It made Ling itch to viciously slap his face. Then the Sword card did not give him any face and fell to the ground as expected.

“Ehh! Ahem! My bad, my bad, let me get ready for a moment.”

Fang Ran grinned. Then he rummaged around the kitchen and found a half-eaten chocolate. Taking out the chocolate, he stuffed the Sword card into the wrapper and attempted it once again!

“Sword! Appear in my hand. I command you as your master!”

“Clow Card!”

Ling remained a cold-eyed bystander as she watched Fang Ran reciting the lines that he had learned from the TV, without telling him the harsh truth.

Rays of light shone faintly. As the wand had already transformed into the Silver Split Dragontooth, it did not become a thin rapier like before. However, the Silver Split Dragontooth itself had undergone many changes.

The joints of the dragon spine meshed together right off the bat. The gaps where the joints connected, had disappeared, completely turning into a shiny silver sword blade.

The silver-dragon hilt had also changed slightly. The dragon’s wings were open, forming something similar to the guard of a fencing sword.

“Oh oh oh!!!” Surprise was written all over Fang Ran’s face as he looked at the Silver Split Dragontooth sword that was even cooler now.

Ling muttered to herself and asked another question, “Hmm, there is no way to test its strength here. Forget it, what’s the cost?”

“Huh? Cost? What cost?”

Fang Ran asked in complete ignorance.

“You don’t even know what the consumption is, yet you still have the cheek to tell me that the scenario just now has made you mature a lot!”

‘You cowardly idiot! In the scenario just now, I originally wanted to let you train your abilities, before I would share with you some basic knowledge!’

“In the end, you just f*cking hid till the end!!”

‘Don’t even know the basic mana cost!’

‘F*cking gained nothing apart from the reward!’

Finally unable to hold it in anymore, Ling snapped at him!

Then Ling thought about it again, ‘Despite that, this coward could get the final reward just like that.’ She then thought about this guy’s Silver Split Dragontooth and achievement.

Ling suddenly felt pain in her liver from anger.

“Uh… hehe…” Fang Ran scratched his head. Even he knew not to refute at a time like this.

“Look at the right side of your interface…” Ling eventually said in a weak voice.

Fang Ran immediately realised that there was an explanation symbol, similar to that of the snake zodiac from that time, on the right side of his interface. With a single click, some data instantly popped up in front of him.

“What’s the cost?” Ling asked again.

“Um, it seems to be two mana per second?” Scanning the information, Fang Ran finally found a line that kept displaying -2.

“That high? This type of power that is maintained with magic actually costs 2 mana per second?” Ling questioned doubtfully.

“Is the cost very high?” Fang Ran asked in incomprehension. He felt like it was not high since it was just two points.

“Hmph. 2 mana per second, 120 mana per minute. How much mana can you have as a novice?” Ling sneered.

Fang Ran scratched his head and looked at the Silver Split Dragontooth with the open dragon wings that he was holding. Innocently, he said,

“I have 1080. It’s only 120 mana a minute. You didn’t see the power of the sword energy the first time that I wielded it. Let me tell you…”

“Wait, what did you just say?”

“I’m telling you…”

“Not this line.”

“You didn’t see the power of the sword energy the first time that I wielded it.”

“The previous line!” Ling said exasperatedly, “How much mana do you have?!”

“1080. What’s the matter, is it very high?” Fang Ran scratched his head in confusion.

Ling was speechless.

‘Damn it, I forgot, this guy is a rookie who knows nothing.’

“Oh, it’s nothing. A thousand plus mana points, that’s still alright,” Ling said indifferently, while roaring furiously in her mind,

‘Damn it!’

‘This a*shole magical girl!’

‘The initial mana value is more than a thousand?’

‘And 1080? Do you f*cking think it’s a joke?!’

‘Wait, doesn’t everyone with a*shole mystery power all naturally have high mana?’

‘In other words, a magical girl is a part of the mystery division too!’

Ling roared in her heart, whilst appearing calm and collected on the outside. She tried her best to show that him with more than a thousand mana was just an ordinary, and continued conning him after conning him about the power stat of the Silver Split Dragontooth.

However, she really didn’t realize that this was the bonus stat that the rookie Fang Ran didn’t know how to use…
