But My Hubby Dotes on Me - Chapter 22

Xue Feifei was stunned, and she tugged at the hems of Lu Weixi’s shirt.

Lu Weixi seemed to have sensed something and a shudder went down her spine. She turned and saw Qin Zhiyou’s calm expression not far from her. He was speaking to a few members of the management and never looked towards them.

Phew.

As her voice was soft, he probably did not hear her.

He was at the forefront, and the women behind him quickly caught up and squeezed the two women out of the circle. Lu Weixi took a step back when the people rushed forward. After speaking for a while, Qin Zhiyou’s Benz arrived and he bid the others goodbye with a smile. He did not even pause when he looked in her direction.

Secretary Wang saw her and wanted to greet her, but he was afraid of it getting in the way of his work, or even more that Qin Zhiyou would get angry at him. So he nodded at her casually, then continued standing by Qin Zhiyou’s side.

Qin Zhiyou boarded his car surrounded by a crowd. Apart from that one glance, the two were like a pair of parallel lines that never crossed.

Besides, she was not sure if it were an illusion, but the car seemed to have intentionally moved to where they were when it started. It spurted exhaust fumes on them before it drove away.

What the heck?

Xue Feifei pointed in the direction that Qin Zhiyou left in after the crowd had dispersed. “What kind of person is that? That’s too much! How did you offend him for him to treat you like this?”

Offend him? He clearly said that he was very satisfied before he left last month, so it was obvious that he had heard what she said…

“But what you said about splitting the assets really scared me.” Xue Feifei patted her chest with a smile. “For this kind of man, the more you give in to him, the more he’ll think you’re a pushover.”

Lu Weixi was thinking about how much she would get out of a divorce. Even with ten percent, she wouldn’t have to worry about her mother’s medical bills anymore.

In the end, it was merely a passing thought. When she married into the Qin family, Mother Qin had a lawyer draft a strict agreement for her. One of the conditions included her not getting a single penny if she was the one to initiate the divorce.

But not only that, Qin Zhiyou too had reasons for which he could not get a divorce.

As Lu Weixi was pondering about divorce, so was Qin Zhiyou.

Seated in the backseat, he leaned back in his seat. His long lashes were pointed downwards as he looked up as if he were deep in thought. Secretary Wang was still making his report from the front of the car.

“CEO Qin, in the month that we’ve been away, Second Old Master has been temporarily in charge and there has been a change in human resources. Several senior executives have been removed from positions of power. Madam hasn’t been up to much. I just received news yesterday that she has been playing golf down south with Ms. Mei and Young Master Xi. Perhaps she is looking to develop a project using their money.”

He had spoken for a while, but Qin Zhiyou did not reply. Secretary Wang took a glance using the rearview mirror and noticed that Qin Zhiyou’s brows were knitted tightly together.

Rich people had rich people’s problems, and Qin Zhiyou was no exception. He was the only son, but he had step-siblings from his father. Even though he was the oldest child, his father died young and his grandfather had long retired. It had taken extensive time and persistence and he had only managed to wrest the position of CEO from his uncle five years ago.
