Even though he did not return, he was not messing around outside. More often than not she would see him in the financial news as he was surveying in Europe. Han Hai Corporation focused on real estate, but there was a larger proportion of residential properties. They also developed commercial properties like malls, supermarkets, movie theaters and resorts. On top of that, they had investments overseas.
To make up for losing Liu Yiyi’s contract, Lu Weixi drowned herself in work over the month. It had been five years since she started as an intern at the company when she was still completing her master’s degree and she had accumulated a number of clients.
In order to save up and repay Xue Feifei, she would accept all and any orders to the point that she was so busy she wanted to sleep in the company. She only realized how many days had passed when Xue Feifei called and asked her out to go shopping.

Lu Weixi had her hands full with a plethora of shopping bags. A few steps in front of her, Xue Feifei was wearing a mask and a pair of black-rimmed glasses without lenses. She wore a pair of canvas shoes with wedges and had a branded bag slung across her body, walking proudly in front. After taking a few steps she turned and saw that Lu Weixi looked all sad and gloomy. She was so speechless she almost removed her mask.
“Sis, how weak are you? Weren’t you the one who was always walking proudly ahead a few years ago? How long has it been? Did Qin Zhiyou suck all of your energy dry? To think that I turned down an interview to join you.”
Spotting a bench, Lu Weixi made a beeline towards it and retorted before she even sat down. “Liar, you just found an excuse to turn it down because you didn’t want to go on Liu Yiyi’s show.”
Xue Feifei peeked over with a smile. “That’s not my fault. Liu Yiyi did it to herself. Ugh, she was acting like a diva at one of her sets and the station manager saw her. It’s not surprising that he asked her to call in sick and reflect on her actions. She’s done for.” As she spoke, she made a face at Lu Weixi. “Now that I mention it, it’s actually kind of funny. The station manager was bringing some important people on a tour at that time, and Qin Zhiyou was one of them. The beauty that he just got his hands on is suffering within an arm’s reach, and yet he cannot help. I wonder how he feels.”
While seated on the bench, Lu Weixi was massaging her legs using her fists and didn’t seem too bothered by her words. Xue Feifei said down and put her arms on Lu Weixi’s shoulders. “But then again, given how frivolous Qin Zhiyou is, it doesn’t matter how good looking or rich he is, unlike his younger brother Qin Zhi…”

Looking down at Lu Weixi, she realized she had said the wrong thing before she uttered the last word. She patted her friend’s shoulders. “That… you must be tired, why don’t we go get something to eat? There’s a pretty nice restaurant nearby. My treat.”
“Sure.” Lu Weixi did not stand on ceremony with her. The place that Xue Feifei mentioned was on the second floor of the mall. It had large, scenic windows and luxurious seats. From there, one could watch the crowd in the outdoor atrium of the mall. The pair placed the orders and Lu Weixi opened her mouth to speak. “The money you loaned me the last time, I’ll return…”
Before she could finish her sentence, there was a commotion on the first floor which distracted their attention. The speakers in the mall were blasting out information, probably about a weekend event. Soon enough, the stage was ready to go. Within moments, the host got onto the stage to break the ice and set up the atmosphere, launching straight into the introductions.
“Now, let’s welcome Qin Zhiyou, CEO of Han Hai Corporation to launch this event!”
