Gu Qingqing would never expect that the first person voicing out in her defense would be Lin Zhouyi. Until now, he still did not know her true identity. Everything he just said landed a massive blow on all the women who loved bragging that they were in a ‘relationship’ with Leng Sicheng. What a long time it had been since anyone at all stood up for her.
Everyone, including her mother and brother, told her that it was a blessing to be married to Leng Sicheng. Everything that Leng Sicheng did was right in their eyes.
She was devasted when her own family had the nerve to tell her it was totally fine for Leng Sicheng to have affairs. To make matters worse, they even advised her to be grateful since she was his legally married wife.
All of that just because he was Leng Sicheng. The man who had hundreds of billions worth of assets. In the eyes of others, he was a rich and handsome prince. She, on the other hand, was just an ordinary woman from a poor family. Adding to her woes, her brother and mother had always dragged her feet and gave her countless trouble over the years.
With reality sinking in hard, Gu Qingqing knew that she was not worthy of marrying a man of Leng Sicheng’s prowess.
No one had a single clue what went on in her mind. In all honesty, though, she actually loved Leng Sicheng a hell lot. Otherwise, why would she feel heartache whatsoever whenever she saw him with other women? Looking upon Lin Zhouyi’s gentle face, she was genuinely grateful that he stood up for her. Sadly though, she was unable to let anybody know how she felt right now.
“Ms. Chen. Is the interview done? We can continue with the shooting then,” replied a calm Gu Qingqing.
Left in shock, Chen Wenjie would typically make a scene even if Leng Sicheng had the nick to tell her to behave. However, the person who had criticized her was Lin Zhouyi, not someone she could afford to offend.
On the other hand, it seemed that the reporters had realized Lin Zhouyi’s true identity. They quickly stopped asking questions.
The entire set became eerily quiet. When the shooting resumed, the only thing audible was the sound of Chen Wenjie reading her lines.

Perhaps Chen Wenjie had been so affected by what Leng Sijie said that she worked extra hard during the after-lunch shooting session, managing to complete almost everything on her schedule in a single day. She only needed to come to Xu Yi one more time to complete shotting the outdoor scene.
After that, everyone went home without incident.
Gu Qingqing had to stay back to help with organizing Lin Zhouyi’s files.
It was now at 8.30 p.m.
For the most part, all the lights in the Xu Yi building had been turned off. Gu Qingqing was still in the office. Tomorrow was Friday, and Lin Zhouyi wanted her to organize all his files before Friday. Since she spent most of her time today to complete the shooting, she had to stay back to complete her boss’ tasks.
When Lin Zhouyi walked out of his office, he saw that Gu Qingqing was still working. In actuality, organizing all his files didn’t turn out to be a huge task. All she needed to do was to create a new Excel file to key in all the data, analyze it, and give them a description.
When Gu Qingqing focussed on something, she wore this serious look on her, having everything already organized earlier. Right now, she simply had to key in all information onto the spreadsheet.
From a distance, one could see that she was dressed elegantly. Though all she had put on was a set of simple clothes, it was tough to conceal her beauty.
It was just as Lin Zhouyi had expected. Leng Sicheng wouldn’t mind dating an ordinary woman, but he made damn sure that the wife he married was nothing short of gorgeous.
