The first one to enter the auditions for the second female lead was Li Yiru.
The character of the second female lead was the typical villainess in commercial films. Hailing from a wealthy family, she was beautiful, fierce, and domineering. It was evident that she was not as likable as the main female lead. Hence, the people auditioning for this role were fewer than those auditioning for the main female lead.
Unlike Shang Feier’s courtesy and restraint, Li Yiru flaunted her figure and beauty. She was like a social butterfly. When she entered, she passionately greeted everyone, then looked at Bo Yan with a fiery gaze. “I have always wanted to collaborate with Teacher Bo. I hope to have the chance now.”
The others laughed and teased her. “Does Director Wang not have this honor?”
They had seen the top searches related to the Jin’Ao Film Festival that day, so they knew that it was a joke. Li Yiru was only borrowing the joke.
Bo Yan’s eyes remained indifferent, and he only spoke three words, “Do your best.”
The audition then started. Li Yiru also performed a scene from the script. Although her acting skills were not as good as Shang Feier’s, her appearance was more suited to the second female lead. Furthermore, her remuneration was not very high either, making her quite an attractive prospect for the filmmakers.
Although the directors were quite inclined toward Li Yiru, the audition had not ended yet. They told her to go and rest first.
As Li Yiru exited, she coincidentally met Shang Feier, who had just walked out of the waiting room.
Li Yiru immediately greeted her, “Sister Shang, we meet again.”
Shang Feier indifferently nodded.

Both of them brushed past each other.

The auditions continued.

After reviewing the last candidate for the second female lead, they finally relaxed. All of them knew in their hearts who would be chosen, and who would not. The next half an hour would be their internal discussion.
Bo Yan found it boring, so he directly pushed the door open and left.
The sky outside seemed a bit dark, and distant sounds of thunder continued to ring. It looked as though it was about to rain.
Bo Yan stood at the window and looked outside. A mocking smile appeared on his face after a long while.
She failed to grab the opportunity when it came. What was the use of being anxious when she did not even try?
Just when he was about to go back, the sound of a speeding car reached his ears.
A red sports car rushed into the parking lot and stopped just beneath the building with a drift and a brake.
Xia Siyu had come here as soon as she could. By the time she had read the script, the audition team was almost done choosing the main female lead. In her hurry, she did not even put on makeup. She had just casually worn a black blouse-like dress and tied her hair up into a simple ponytail.
Other than the prominent actresses who had a private waiting room, most of the actresses waited along the corridors.
When they saw Xia Siyu, they immediately started to discuss amongst themselves.
Xia Siyu’s appearance shocked Bo Yan. His frowned face then relaxed, but the frown deepened again after a while. “Why did you come?”
Xia Siyu was scared that she had come to the wrong venue. However, when she saw Bo Yan, she let out a sigh of relief and asked him, “Are the auditions taking place here?”
Bo Yan remained expressionless as he replied, “You came late. The audition has ended.”
Xia Siyu just said, “Oh.” Without showing any care about what he said, she directly pushed open the door to the audition room.
