Being Chieftan at a Moe Tribe - Chapter 30

He did not know what was the most venomous creature in this world’s forests, but the beast-eared females who lived here all year round definitely knew.

What Fu Rui wanted to do was prepare tools to capture those venomous creatures.

After all, he didn’t want the cute beast-eared females to get hurt when he caught venomous snakes and insects.

Right now, there was no such thing as a serum or antidote.

Once they were poisoned, they could only resign themselves to fate.

Fu Rui did not want to take the risk, so he had to take precautions beforehand.

He took out a long branch and polished its front end simply. Then, he combined it with spikes he had polished with a flint to make it look like a fork.

This seemingly simple task took him almost two hours.

From polishing, repairing, assembling, and reinforcing, none of them could be done quickly.

Fu Rui couldn’t help but reminisce about modern polishing machines. If he wanted to make a fork like this, even iron and steel would only take him a few seconds, let alone wood.

After washing up, Yuan lay on the bed and watched Fu Rui busy himself.

Knowing that he was doing something important, she did not disturb him.

As she watched him, she fell asleep unknowingly.

After Fu Rui finished what he was doing, he casually took out a furry piece of animal skin and covered her with it. Then, with the help of the light from the oil lamp, he began to work on the net made by the beast-eared females in the village.

This was originally used to capture wild beasts.

However, there was too much distance between the holes in the net, so Fu Rui had to fix something in the middle of each grid to prevent snakes and other creatures from escaping.

Once again, this was a time-consuming task.

By the time he was done, it was already late at night. Fu Rui had already started yawning countless times.

His biological clock was urging him to rest.

However, he still couldn’t make himself stop.

Having fought with the scouts from the porcupine tribe, he already knew the strength of the porcupine tribe.

It could only be described as terrifying.

As expected of a race that had monopolized the fire source of this forest all year round. They had already evolved to a level that far surpassed other tribes.

Not only were their physiques strong and sturdy, they also knew how to use tools and could even refine ironware.

If the beast-eared tribe did not make use of their knowledge to guard against future attacks, it was very likely that the beast-eared tribe would not even be able to resist their scouts and would be easily killed.

This was definitely not what Fu Rui wanted to see.

It was a busy night.

After an unknown period of time, Fu Rui finally finished making the rope net used to catch snakes.

At the same time, he did not forget to test the sturdiness of the finished product.

After confirming that there were no quality issues, he finally heaved a sigh of relief.

“I’ll ask Tu Tu and the others to make a few more during the day. Fighting a battle will consume a lot of resources, so the venom must be collected in large quantities. I hope these nets are durable enough.”

Fu Rui stretched and got up to go to bed. Then, he hugged the cat-eared girl and fell asleep.

The sun was high in the sky.

When Fu Rui woke up, it was already noon.

Yuan had been lying in his arms, not daring to move, afraid that she would wake him up.

“You slept for so long.”

Fu Rui smiled. “Did you wake up very early?”

Yuan first nodded, then quickly shook her head. “Li came to look for you twice. Quickly go to her.”

“I’ll be right there.”

Fu Rui kissed her and got up to wash up.

After helping Yuan bring over her toileteries, he rushed to the entrance of the village.

According to Yuan, Li was waiting for him there.

At the same time, he started signing in for the day while walking.

“Ding, successfully signed in. Congratulations to the host for obtaining Primitive Creature Identification.”

Primitive Creature Identification?

Fu Rui raised his eyebrows. Was this something to help him recognise the creatures of this world?

It seemed pretty good. When the time came to identify venomous snakes and insects, he would not need the help of the beast-eared females.

When he was passing by the notice board, he remembered that yesterday, he said that he would write down the production process for making bows and arrows. Hence, he picked up a charcoal pen and wrote on the notice board.

After settling this matter, he walked towards the village entrance.

Li waved at him from the sentry tower outside the village, signaling him to go there.

“Did something happen?” Fu Rui asked.

“Some of us found strange creatures in the bamboo forest.”

“Strange creatures?”

Fu Rui was curious. “What kind of creatures did you find?”

“It has two legs but no hands. It can fly and its entire body is covered in fur.” Li thought for a while, but could not seem to find any more details.

These seemingly unrelated features formed dozens of three-dimensional organisms in Fu Rui’s mind.

Primitive Creature Identification was at work!

These were all creatures that were selected based on Li’s description.

However, there was too little information. Thus, these creatures were still very vague. It was impossible to determine which one it was.

“Take me there to take a look.”

It just so happened that Fu Rui was planning to go out today. Perhaps this strange creature was venomous.

If that was the case, he could apply its venom to the arrowheads.

As he spoke, he told Li to wait here while he went back. Then, took out the net and wooden fork he had prepared in the morning.

“What are these?”

Li asked curiously. After all, she hadn’t seen anything like this in the village yesterday.

“Didn’t I say yesterday that I was going to catch venomous creatures? It’s safer to use these,” Fu Rui explained.

“Then let’s wait here for a while.”

Li nodded. “Li Li and Wei Wei went out to collect materials and haven’t returned yet. They should be back soon.”

“There’s no need. You and I will do it.”

“Isn’t it unsafe now?”

Li felt that this wasn’t a good idea and suggested, “How about I call a few people over to help guard us? I’m afraid that we will be ambushed by the porcupine scouts.”

“Alright.”

Fu Rui left the safety matters to Li and didn’t ask about it anymore.
