Apocalypse: My Technological City has Infinite Upgrades - Chapter 20

The monster that was about to pounce on Lorne was sent flying.

It fell into the ground and was still twitching. The expression on its face was one of disbelief. It was as if it could not believe that it, who should have torn this person apart, had fallen to the ground.

Lorne saw the monster fall to the ground and lose its mobility. He held the Desert Eagle and collapsed to the ground, panting heavily.

The wounds on his back were constantly washed by the rain, and he kept feeling pain. However, Lorne did not care about this now. In the end, he had won this battle.

After resting for a long time on the ground, Lorne propped himself up and slowly walked to the monster with the Desert Eagle in his right hand.

.

What surprised Lorne was that the monster, which he had thought had been killed, was still panting slightly.

“What a powerful monster!” Lorne sighed in the rain.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!” Lorne shot the twitching monster a few more times. Only after confirming that the monster had lost any signs of life did he stop.

[Congratulations to the host for killing a level 2 mutant. You have gained 300 points.]

“Hmm?”

He was surprised that killing such a monster would reward him with points.

[System, do you know what this monster is?]

Lorne asked the system in his mind.

[Because the meteorites landed on Earth and changed the environment of the world, it caused some unknown changes in the world, so various creatures began to mutate.]

[As the owner of this system, you naturally have to build the world’s largest technology city.]

[Therefore, killing this monster will ensure the stability of the world. Depending on the strength of the monsters, the host will be rewarded with points.]

“Oh, I see. Then if I can hunt more such monsters in the future, won’t I have a lot of points? If I can kill 300 monsters, won’t I be rich?”

Lorne couldn’t help but let his imagination run wild.

[Host, please think about your strength.]

The system slowly said words in Lorne’s mind. He couldn’t help but feel a trace of black lines on his head when he saw it.

Lorne ignored the system and prepared to deal with the monster’s corpse.

He threw the corpse far away to avoid attracting other monsters to his shelter.

After dealing with the monster’s corpse, Lorne returned to the shelter to deal with his wounds.

Just as Lorne walked down the stairs and entered the living room, he saw a black shadow pounce on him. He was so frightened that he subconsciously wanted to raise the Desert Eagle in his hand.

Upon a closer look, it was Whitey. Lorne relaxed his tense nerves and rubbed Whitey’s head, telling it to play by the side. He needed to treat his wounds.

If he did not treat the wound, it might get infected the next day.

“Whitey, help me get the medical bag from the storage room.”

Whitey flew to the storage room obediently and took out a medical bag.

It was a simple medical bag, but it had quite a lot of disinfectant and bandages. It was enough to deal with Lorne’s current situation.

Lorne planned to add a medical room after he found some more people. This way, it would be easier for him to treat his wounds and not be as difficult as now.

But now, he could only deal with it himself. Lorne first cleaned the wounds on his backs, then applied medicine on the wounds, and bandaged them.

“It seems unexpected situations are occurring in this world. This black monster is the best proof, and it looks like there are a lot of them.”

“Then, where is the space for humans to live? I had to put in such effort and use most of my resources to kill one of the black monsters.”

If he encountered such a group of monsters while exploring outside, he would probably lose his life. He thought about the scene in his mind and felt a chill run down his spine.

Furthermore, thinking of the monster’s powerful attack, Lorne felt that his shelter was not very safe.

“System, since this is a technology city, it should have protective weapons, right?” Lorne asked the system.

“Level One Technology City, the system has gifted you with a mecha crossbow. It can be used as the city’s defense. If you need more defensive weapons, you can buy them from the system’s store.”

Hearing this, Lorne remembered that he had a System Shop.

However, because he had too few points, he had been too embarrassed to open it. After all, it was very painful to see but not be able to buy it.

Lorne silently opened the System Shop. An electronic screen automatically appeared in front of him.

There were many different categories in the System Shop. Technology, weapons, lifestyle items, and so on were all available. There was everything he could wish for. However, he had to pay points and metal materials.

Lorne found the mecha crossbow mentioned by the system. It was worth 30 points. Furthermore, Lorne could activate any weapons installed in his technology city with just a thought.

The items bought in the shop would be bound to his consciousness directly, making it very convenient and safe.

Looking at his points, his balance was still quite high. Therefore, Lorne bought five mecha crossbows in the System Shop.

After purchasing it, a thought appeared in Lorne’s mind. As long as he imagined installing the crossbow in a place in the technology city, it would be automatically installed.

He was like a god in the technology city.

As long as he installed enough weapons in the technology city, if he encountered enemies in the future, he could lure them to his technology city and destroy them.

At the thought of this, the sense of security in Lorne’s heart increased greatly.

Then, he slowly browsed the System Shop and found another weapon that could increase the defense of his technology city.

[Heavy automatic machine gun. Requires 60 points.]

This type of machine gun was undoubtedly very powerful. Although it was a little expensive, Lorne felt that he could still buy one.

If he had this, even if the earlier group of monsters had surrounded his shelter, he could activate the heavy machine gun and crossbows to annihilate them.

He only needed to watch them die in the shelter. There was no need for him to risk fighting a lone monster like earlier.

There was another reason. Lorne had thought that this disaster was just a meteorite crashing, and that the officials would definitely rebuild the world after the disaster.

But now, it seemed like it was far more than that. The future might be tens of thousands of times more difficult than now. However, with the system, Lorne felt that he would be able to make some changes to this world.

Perhaps he could really build the world’s largest technology city like the system had said.

His existence might be able to allow more people to live. He had a bigger wish now.

In the future, he had to let the previous prosperity be restored in his technology city. Perhaps it would be even more prosperous than before the apocalypse. Calamity was also an opportunity.

But that was in the future, what he had to do now was to protect his life. Therefore, it was very necessary to strengthen the defenses of his shelter.

He spent 60 points to buy a medium-sized machine gun. Then, Lorne installed the heavy machine gun on the top of his shelter.

If anyone with evil intentions wanted to attack his shelter, this heavy machine gun would definitely give them unforgettable memories.

After the installation, he found that these weapons were hidden in a place that he could not see, they would only reveal their sharpness when he wanted to use them.

This satisfied Lorne. Seeing the concealment power of his technology city, he was relieved. Then, he went to go to the kitchen to get some food to reward himself.
