“Pilux, let me go. When the time comes, I will compensate you with some treasures. What do you think?” asked Anbabu, the green dragon. It felt that it knew Pilux well and thought that Pilux would not turn down his request.

“That’s not what you said just now. Anbabu, you must know that the consequences of forcing me to leave my lair and treasures are worse than that of killing me. If you only plan to compensate me with some treasures, I might as well kill you now. If I do, all your treasures will become mine.”

“Aren’t you afraid that my family will retaliate and take revenge against you?” The dragons were rather close to each other. That was the reason Anbabu didn’t kill Pilux even though it had the upper hand just now.

“That’s a problem.” Pilux squinted, seemingly thinking about something.

All of a sudden, there was a change in his tone, and he said to Zhou Kun, “My loyal follower, you deserve great credit this time. What should I reward you with?”

Zhou Kun was a little bit skeptical about that question since he wasn’t sure whether it was yet another test from Pilux.

Accordingly, he had to pretend to be sincere, and he answered, “It is my greatest honor to serve you, Lord Pilux. After the battle today, your reputation in the continent is going to rise again, and your name is going to be spread throughout the continent. It would be the best reward for me to be able to say that my tiny shadow was here if my children and grandchildren ask about the scene of today’s battle decades from now.”

Pilux was very satisfied with Zhou Kun’s reply. It felt that Zhou Kun, his follower, was not only reliable but most importantly, he was also eloquent and had a glib tongue.

The green dragon Anbabu, who was at the side, did not expect that the silly Pilux would have such a strange follower. Of course, it did not know that Zhou Kun’s strange behavior was known as “boot-licking” back in Zhou Kun’s world.

“As a follower, your loyalty has been recognized by me, but you’re too incompetent. You can be considered the worst adventurer I have ever seen. Do you want to be a Dragon Rider?” Neither Zhou Kun nor Anbabu had expected that Pilux would suddenly pose such a question.

“What? Dragon… Dragon Rider?”

“Pilux, don’t you dare…” the green dragon Anbabu that was on the side instantly understood what Pilux meant.

Pilux was afraid that the green dragon’s family would take revenge on him if he were to kill the green dragon. However, if Pilux’s follower was to become the green dragon’s owner, he would be able to insult and humiliate the green dragon without having to worry about the green dragon’s family pursuing the matter.

“I remember that adventurers seem to enjoy conquering dragons and becoming Dragon Riders. What do you think of my idea?” Pilux stared at Zhou Kun with its large eyes, and Zhou Kun had a feeling that if he dared to refuse, he would be burned to ashes by Pilux’s Dragon’s Breath in the next second.

“No… Pilux, you can’t do this to me… You’re a traitor who insulted the Dragon Clan… I won’t become the pet of your follower even if I die.”

“In that case, you shall die!” The magic on Pilux’s body began to work, and it was as if it was going to kill Anbabu in the next second.

“Don’t, big brother Pilux, we can talk things out and negotiate!” Anbabu exclaimed, sounding extremely different even though it was still refusing to succumb and claimed that it would rather die, one second ago.

“Choose. Die or become his pet.” Pilux pointed at Zhou Kun with its claw.

Zhou Kun, who was a backdrop, felt like he would probably find out some information about rearing a Western giant dragon that was more than 10 meters tall and would spit fire if he had his mobile phone at the moment. He would probably state that the matter was urgent and that he was waiting online.

“I swear to the Dragon God above, that I, Anbabu, voluntarily form a companionship contract with the adventurer before me…”

Before Zhou Kun had time to figure out what the companionship contract was, he began to feel a strange connection between him and Anbabu that suddenly arose.

“From now on, there will be no secrets between us. We’re the most loyal companions,” the green dragon said while staring at Zhou Kun with a look of resentment.

Zhou Kun finally realized what a companionship contract was. In layman’s terms, he and Anbabu were now one soul, and they had formed an unbreakable bond that tied them together.

The knot would always be valid as long as the witness of the contract, the Dragon God that was mentioned at the beginning of the contract, was still alive.

“My follower, if there are any precious tributes next time, I hope you present them to me immediately.” Pilux actually wanted to know the origin of the wine that Zhou Kun had given him previously, but it could not bring itself to do so because of its pride as a dragon.

“By the way, with this item, you can visit my lair as and when you please. I hope that the next tribute you bring will satisfy me,” Pilux said while handing Zhou Kun a huge dragon’s tooth that was engraved with layers of magical patterns that were similar to the ones on Pilux’s scales.

“How do I use this?” Zhou Kun asked, feeling bewildered as he looked at the palm-sized dragon’s tooth in his hand.

“When you hold it and shout my name, I will respond to you.”

“Thank you for the gift, Lord Pilux!”

“You are dismissed. I need to rest.” Pilux still had to consolidate the Earth magic that it had just learned. It wanted to become a dual-specialization dragon as soon as possible.

Zhou Kun was just about to leave when he saw some familiar vines in the corner of the dragon’s lair.

“Lord Pilux, what is this?” Zhou Kun asked with uncertainty because he seemed to have seen some sort of honeydew vine.

“Eh? Since when did a new plant grow here?”

The corner was the place where Pilux excreted. During Zhou Kun’s previous visit, he brought too much cantaloupe and after Pilux swallowed them in one gulp, there were many seeds of Western State honey that were not digested in his stomach. Hence, the seeds were excreted and left there. Surprisingly, the seeds grew into honeydews.

Zhou Kun looked at the red cracks on the honeydew and asked with some excitement, “Lord Pilux, can I take these away with me?”

“Yes…” Pilux answered without even opening his eyes. He felt that his follower was good at everything, and his only flaw was that he liked to pick up trash.

It was the same as the previous time. A drop of Pilux’s drool made Zhou Kun extremely overjoyed.

Anbabu, the green dragon that was at the side, looked at its owner in disdain, and it finally confirmed that Pilux got Zhou Kun to be its owner, purely for the sake of humiliating him.

Zhou Kun carefully rummaged under the vines, afraid of missing any ripe honeydews. Thus, he managed to find about 300 honeydews.

“Come on, do me a favor. Put these on your back.”

After Anbabu rolled its eyes at Zhou Kun, it swallowed the honeydew in front of it.

“Screw you… who said you could eat them!?!”

Before Zhou Kun could finish speaking, Anbabu spat the honeydews out again.

“What a wonderful object…” Anbabu was like a living storage bag. Zhou Kun wondered how many honeydews Anbabu could swallow at once.

Anbabu thought that Zhou Kun was being amazed by its ability. Hence, it rolled its eyes at him again.

“Hmph! Country bumpkin.”
