She felt a stabbing pain from time to time, and her head still felt a little dizzy. This body was covered with wounds. There were a few dozen of them all over in varying sizes. The last one that had finally caused her death was the cut on her right wrist. The ulnar artery had been cut, and she died from losing too much blood.

She had to say that the previous owner of this body had died terribly. She had been subject to extremely cruel abuse before her death.

Qingcheng climbed onto the Windblast Wolf King’s back. The Wolf King lifted his head and gave a long howl once she had settled on its back, then he brought the rest of the pack towards where the spring water of the mountains pooled at the foot of a mountain.

Qingcheng sat on the Wolf King’s back, and she could feel the air around her move along the way. Could it be that the air in this universe was so fresh that she could touch it? It made her entire body feel especially comfortable.

She gently patted the Wolf King’s head twice so that he would lie down. She wanted to get off here.

She looked around her, then walked into a cave at the foot of the mountain. She found a clean place and sat down cross-legged as she inspected her right wrist. The cut there had already formed a scab.

What surprised Qingcheng was that after she had regained consciousness, the Star Bangle was still on her wrist. What was going on? Earlier on, she was preoccupied with other things and didn’t think much about it, but now that she had looked through Feng Qingcheng’s memories, it seemed like this bangle didn’t exist in them at all.

Her soul had transmigrated to this world, but the owner of this body had already died from losing too much blood. After being reborn into this body, she only felt some pain from her wounds and dizziness from losing too much blood, but she wasn’t feeling terrible anywhere else.

“Could it be this Star Bangle? Is this the mysterious power it has? It can bring people back to life?”

The more she thought about it, the more incredulous it seemed. She had come to this universe because of this bangle, and after she had been reborn, she was still wearing it on her wrist. Even though it was a different body, she had the same soul.

She looked at the Wolf King lying to the side, and her lips couldn’t help but twitch. Weren’t wolves supposed to be very vicious animals? Weren’t they supposed to be cruel and bloodthirsty? Moreover, the animals in this universe were known as Magical Beasts.

Most of them were human-like, and they were able to cultivate and fight like humans. After a certain level of cultivation, they could even speak like people and take a human form.

As for the one right next to her, she couldn’t associate it with being cruel and vicious at all…

She felt like she was looking at a Samoyed dog, instead… er, well, no one could blame her for thinking that way. But the feeling that this Wolf King gave her could be described as obedient and tame. Then again, you had to first ignore the fact that he was more than twice the size of a fully-grown bull.

“You’re the Windblast Wolf King? Do you have a name?” Her voice was clear and pleasing to the ear. It carried a little girlishness to it, but there was also a calmness that didn’t belong to a child of this age, and there wasn’t the slightest bit of fear in it.

The Wolf King looked at Qingcheng gently and he started whimpering, “No, I don’t.” Others might not have understood him, but for some reason, Qingcheng was able to.

“My name is Qingcheng, and I’ll call you Tealwood from now on, alright?” said Qingcheng.

Tealwood happily raised his right paw and stroked Qingcheng’s little arm tenderly. Qingcheng’s heart became calm as well.

She finally asked the question she had wanted to ask, some doubtfulness in her voice, “Tealwood, why didn’t you kill me when you first saw me earlier?”

“I’m not sure what’s going on either, but I felt a strange sort of attraction from you that made me want to draw close, and it felt very heartwarming,” Tealwood replied.

Tealwood hesitated for a while before continuing, “It felt like… like the feeling that my mother gave me when I was young.” With that, Tealwood’s head moved closer to her. A bright light flashed suddenly and the gigantic wolf became the same size as a typical full-sized dog. He leaned against Qingcheng.

Qingcheng was speechless when she saw how Tealwood had suddenly changed in size. She was surprised, but that was about it.

Her mind was more preoccupied with thoughts about this bangle of hers. It seemed like everything had changed because of it. She was now very sure that Feng Qingcheng didn’t have such an ability. She couldn’t communicate with Magical Beasts and had no way of making them feel close to her.

“Tealwood, I’m a little hungry. Is there anything to eat around here?” Qingcheng rubbed her tummy. She realized that this body hadn’t eaten anything in two days.

The previous owner of this body had been locked up and beaten badly until she died, and Qingcheng still hadn’t eaten since she had been reborn. On top of that, she was going through puberty and had to have sufficient nutrition since she was still growing.

Tealwood stood up immediately. “Give me a moment. I’ll go out and come back in a while.”

After a while, Tealwood came back with a branch in his mouth. There were several red fruits that were about the same size as an egg. They looked delicious and gave off a tempting sort of fragrance.

It put the branch down in front of Qingcheng and said, “These are Crimson Fruit, which are helpful for cultivation when you humans eat it. Even if you aren’t a cultivator, it’s good for strengthening the body.

“But to us Magical Beasts, this is just an ordinary fruit. This area is my territory, and the other Magical Beasts won’t dare to cross my path here. Once you’re done eating, you can just rest inside the cave.” After he said that, he bit off one of the fruits and swallowed it down, then continued lying next to Qingcheng as if he really enjoyed doing so.

Qingcheng was already feeling terribly hungry by now. She plucked the fruit off the branch, wiped it clean, and took a bite. “Oh, it does taste pretty good. But it’s a bit too little.”

Tealwood heard what she said and couldn’t help but twitch his lips. He grumbled to himself, “If other humans out there found out that someone had eaten five Crimson Fruits in one shot and complained that it was too little, they would probably cry themselves to death, right?”

After all, to humans, Crimson Fruits were a rare treasure!

Tealwood raised his head slightly to look at Qingcheng. His eyes were curved into semi-circles and his lips were curled upwards as if he were smiling, but it was hard to read any expression on a wolf’s face.
