Last Vacation (6)
-Due to the fusion with the [Great Heavenly Spirit], some of the Godslayer’s original power had been temporarily restored. The sword has become S+ rank. The strength and power of it were amplified, and all special abilities were strengthened.
-You can now use the [Absorption] and [Generate] abilities of the Great Heavenly Spirit.
-The special ability [Release] has been temporarily unlocked.
The change was dramatic as the purple metal bead was placed into the Godslayer sword. The sword began to vibrate violently as it grew longer and sharper. The sword, which was black, was now completely colored purple. It was absorbing the wind energy around it, thanks to the bead. It was a treasure with an absurd skill that absorbed and stored all kinds of energy.
‘But as a bead it couldn’t be used to attack.’ It only absorbed and stored energy, but now that it was fused with the Godslayer, it could emit that energy.
-Quoooh…
“It’s alright, don’t be scared.” The flame wyvern flapped its wings, amazed by the power of the Godslayer that had absorbed all of the energy around him. Now that it was in the sword, perhaps the absorption function could be adjusted a little bit.
-Graaaa!
“Shin-hyuk!”
Meloy’s breath flew towards them once more as Kang Shin-hyuk hefted the newly improved sword. The flame wyvern noticed it a second too late, flapping its wings to try and dodge it.
“It’s okay, stay still.” Kang Shin-hyuk extended his sword in front of them, using his Wind Mastery skill. A purple wind wound around the sword like a vortex. The next moment, the breath attack was caught in that vortex of wind and converged onto the Godslayer. It was silently sucked into the sword without a problem.
-What?!
Meloy and Eleanor were stunned, as was Spine Rose, who understood the strength of the weapon in an instant.
-That, give it to me!”
“Sure!” Kang Shin-hyuk threw the sword at her. Spine Rose was clearly surprised, thinking that perhaps this guy was also caught up in her delusions. She tried to reach a branch out to grab it, but it couldn’t end well. Thanks to his Dragon’s Fan Dance A-rank proficiency, the Godslayer sword pierced the branch with ease and released the enormous flame it had just absorbed after hitting Spine Rose.
-Ahhhhhhhhhh!
With a terrible scream, the blood of Spine Rose once more spattered out. It soaked the Godslayer and was absorbed into it. The flame wyvern evaded Meloy as Shin-hyuk activated the return ability of the Godslayer sword to bring it back to his hand.
-I will kill you!
Stained with blood, the Spine Rose roared out with enough intensity to shake the garden. She reached into the air and gestured for the sword to return, but no matter how much blood she stained it with, she couldn’t take ownership of it. In the first place, the Great Heavenly Spirit just absorbed it as energy.
“So now, how do I use this?” Emission was a useful ability that could release the absorbed energy in a destructive fashion. It was even possible to use it to release energy in the same form as it was absorbed. He had been hoping to absorb her blood so he could analyze it and use it himself to free Meloy and Eleanor. However, this was different than just emitting a flame. The structure of Spine Rose’s power was too complex.
-All… I will kill them all!
He didn’t have the time to study it leisurely. Spine Rose’s anger had reached a peak, causing the gate to change. Everything in this small world was turning red.
-Queen, queen!
-You who have taken all my things… give them back!
-Quaaah!
-Kiiii!
The magical power of Spine Rose hit all of the surviving Alaune and wyverns at once. The Godslayer sword was able to protect Kang Shin-hyuk and the flame wyvern from it, however.
-It’s a unique ability. No other world has ever attacked this gate, so her power is strengthened.
“No other world… no, I’ll ask later!” The flame wyvern rose to avoid the flower stalks of the Alaunes coming from all sides. They were reinforced by the power of Spine Rose, and the ugly thorns that were sprouting on them looked like they could peel off a wyvern’s thick hide.
-Quaaaaa!
Other wyverns followed the flame wyvern with rose thorns sprouting out of them. Meloy flew after them as well, with Eleanor atop her with lance in hand.
‘Did I really end up saving them?’
-You can’t help it. Rest assured that you can kill all of them to survive.
‘No, I can’t kill all of them.’
-Cheh.
“Kh!” At that moment, the lance Eleanor held soared at them. The flame wyvern turned sharply to avoid it narrowly. The lance broke its trajectory and began to fly faster at them.
“It’s a skill. I’m sorry!”
-It’s deadly, too!
“You’re both too noisy!” Kang Shin-hyuk raised his sword to block the lance. The purple blade of the sword greedily ate at the power of the lance as they violently collided. It was impossible to deal with all of its power, however, and Kang Shin-hyuk was rocked violently. The lance swung again for another blow, aiming right at his head.
-Vwoooom
Just before it could hit him, he managed to stop it in the air.
“Just a hair away…”
-Even if you couldn’t have, the Guardian ability of the sword would’ve activated.
The lance was dyed in the same purple as the Godslayer sword. With its power released, he erased the ability of Spine Rose and replaced it with his own. No, not just purple, but brilliant gold also ran over the lance in the form of a spiral. Now it was enhanced by his trait, Golden-Eyed Dragon.
“Flame wyvern!”
-Quooooh!
Now Shin-hyuk held his sword in one hand, and Eleanor’s lance in the other as the flame wyvern rose to the limits of the gate. The other wyverns tried to follow suit but couldn’t keep up with his pace. That was because the engraving of the golden dragon was also on the flame wyvern’s wings.
-Quooo…!
The wyvern changed direction upon reaching the highest peak. Down below, they could see Spine Rose was motionless, focusing all of her energy on controlling the monsters around her. Two crimson eyes were looking straight at him with open arms. Kang Shin-hyuk launched the lance with all his strength.
“Haaah!”
-Block it with your lives!
The wyverns chasing them whirled around to stop the lance. However, the moment they touched the purple air current around the lance, they moved out of its way as if they were awakened.
-Why?!
“Ahhhhh!” Even Eleanor let out a cute scream and evaded the javelin on the back of Meloy. Rose stalks raised up from the Alaunes to stop it, but instead twisted along the spiral stream around the javelin and joined its momentum.
-Nonsense…!
Spine Rose urgently dismissed her powers to instead focus her energy on blocking the spear. Her thorn-stalk shield collided with the lance, causing both to burst out. The flower stalks that had flown behind the lance penetrated her body, carving cruel wounds in her flesh. Her blood sprinkled the ground once more, but it no longer contained her power.
“Ahhhhh!” Eleanor looked at it and let out a scream. That’s right; it was because it was an A-rank artifact. Even though she was treated as distant from the royal family, she was indeed a princess.
“Your body is okay, right?”
“Oh, yes! Thank you!” Although the lance was shattered, the rest was as Shin-hyuk intended. Eleanor and the other wyverns had been freed from Spine Rose’s control. They hurriedly gathered behind the flame wyvern. Meloy let out a soft cry as she came to their side.
“Thank you so much for saving me…”
“Yes, it’s okay, so stop crying.”
“Ah, I’m not crying?” Her expression was less one of thanks and more one of despair that her weapon had been smashed. She couldn’t blame him, but it was clearly visible she was fuming inside.
“I’ll make you a suitable weapon later.”
“Really?” Her face brightened immensely at that as she had seen the creation of an A-rank artifact in a matter of hours.
“So, let’s take care of this first.”
-Ahhhhhhhhhhh!
Several thorny stems, stained red, were rising around Spine Rose’s body. With Eleanor’s blow backed by Shin-hyuk’s own attacks, she was in dire straits. But they had to remain vigilant.
-Ahhhhhhhh!
The Alaunes who had been holding on were annihilated by the bloody thorn stalks that absorbed their energy.
-Die!
The blood thorns swelled up from the rose garden, wriggling unpleasantly as the queen of red thorns rose with them. Her whole body was covered in a thorny dress, and her eyes bled red as she glared at Kang Shin-hyuk.
“Huh.” His own eyes shone golden in response against the wave of red before a flash of gold sparked out to strengthen himself, Eleanor, and all of the wyverns.
“What, this is…?!”
-How do you possess that power… you?!
Even Eleanor could sense it as Rose opened her eyes wide in amazement. But more than anyone else, Kang Shin-hyuk was surprised. He only tried to activate his trait to deal with Spine Rose’s power.
-Member, incoming!
Messages from the Gaia system filled his retinas.
-The trait [Golden-eyed Dragon (S)] has met the conditions for evolution and has evolved into [Guardian Golden Dragon (SS)]. All stats will grow significantly. The skill [Dragon’s Fan Dance (S+)] has evolved into [Dragon’s Fan Dance (SS+)].
-The Godslayer has regained some of its original power and has grown into the S-class (SS-class.)
-A new special ability, Golden Dragon Fighter, has awakened! The special ability regeneration has been absorbed into the Golden Dragon Fighter, further amplifying it.
Perhaps because he had been preparing for it step-by-step or because it was so sudden, Kang Shin-hyuk was able to accept the changes naturally. His bones, flesh, blood, muscles, and soul. The pain of everything being disassembled then put back together was certainly terrible, but it also ended in an instant. The golden energy flowing through him calmed the pain, and revitalized him. Spiritual power mingled inside of him, further strengthening his body and mind.

“…” Kang Shin-hyuk opened his eyes while the whole world held its breath. His eyes were shining golden with a mysterious imprint. They looked like the eyes of a dragon. Anyone who watched it happen could feel it intuitively. His agility had doubled, perhaps even more than doubled.
-Ridiculous…
Spine Rose leaned back, the legion of red thorns shrinking with her.
-We could call it a draw…?”
“Haha.” Kang Shin-hyuk laughed at her cautious remark as the rage inside of her diminished.
Then he threw his sword out.
